  1. thanks Blaze.. i think you hit the nail on the head...sort of speaking.. its not a bad smell just or different , other than stronger to me, the one i test hubby didn't say anything so it might just been me..lol i called and told her to use only one tart and in a big room ( mine was in my small room) and if they were to strong for her to just trash them.. this was the last bit of oil and i'm not buying more because i didn't sell a lot of tarts in this scent and have now just about stop making tarts other than for family and and my self plus a few people i know that buys faithful off me, i found i just didn't have time to give it my full attention to really push for the sales, nor web site or craft shows, this small place i live at.. that would be the only way to sell lot of tarts. i 've been so busy all summer remodeling and doing repairs around the house i haven't make but a few batches up, i still enjoy doing them and i will do more this winter but not as to make money from it. just a hobby thing.
  2. Hi everyone its been a while since i had a chance to get on here... lastnight i made up some tarts for a lady out of the last 1/2 ounce oil i had of island mango, and it smells so strong even tho it is at least over a year old, i'm thinking about melting the tarts again and adding more wax, maybe this would make them not as strong. i don't want to buy a new bottle of this scent because i didn't get a lot of orders for it . it still has a good smell just seems like to me stronger
  3. thanks, Sharon i did find the 40 watts at lowe's ..do they get hot enough ? i was just going by what the cord said, never used this type before. i had a 40 watt in my dinningroom over head light but it was to long, with a tip to use and was hot, so i was looking for the blunt tip ones. thanks
  4. can anyone tell me where to buy the small bulb that goes into the tart warmers/melters from love lites ? i bought this pretty one at a yard sale because it has horse's on it. the bulb in it wasn't any good, the lady's hubby even said that that size bulb didn't get the warmer hot enough, the cord says 75 watts or 125 volts for bulb. i've looked at walmart and lowe's but no luck, they were all to long, i need one like you would put in the lights at christmas time, that looks like a candle but just a bigger watt. any help .
  5. Oh goodness, that looks good enough to eat, i'll have coffee with it
  6. I agreed with what everyone said, i haven't bought any of the tarts so i can't say how they are but i do know that the last big container candle, that my son had got me for mother's Day ... had no smelll , tunneled down middle and left black soot everywhere on my table . i had some little heart shaped tarts from a place , my neice had got and was selling them in her store , well i got me a few and let people see the difference in the shape, size and smell along beside mine, some still had bad edges on them, i said this is what a tart looks like being poured from a machine and this is what they look like all hand poured..lol i buy a product for the quality of it... not for the name , haveing to have brand name stuff, is something i never have worried about . i much rather have a candle that someone took the time to learn about and makes sure it is good before putting out there to sell.
  7. this week, i bought some yankee votives off a young couple at a yard sale. i thought i would put them in my bathroom & bedroom , i had just changed colors in. for decor.... i had a couple left that didn't match my colors, so i decided yesterday to see how they smell, smells wonderful in wrap. i put one in bathroom, checked back after about 10 mins, still no smell, i kept checking and i never did get a smell from it. finally gave up , blew it out and went back , put one of my tarts in my warmer, had Baby snuggle coming out of there within 5 mins. why does people buy these if they don't smell good when lit ? i knew this young girl and asked her why she had all these yankee votives if she didn't burn them... she said just for looks, i told her , you can go walmart and get pretty ones just for that , plus a lot cheaper. i have had a few of the yankee container candles , the kids had bought me and they didn't burn well at all , this girl was buying them just because it had Yankee on front and is a big co. these wasn't real old , she had bought them this year , that was my first thought, too old. i guess its just that some people has to have name brands on everything.
  8. very pretty, if i could make candles look like these, i would be . love the labels also, they look like they are in the 3-d effect.
  9. those are so pretty , and makes a nice set .
  10. A metal whisk , here also and its not like the normal whisk, mine is goes round at the bottom instead of bulb shape coming up ... lol hard to explain, i just use a paper towel to wipe off when i'm finished stirring my wax , before i pour. tried the wooden spoon, i had hard time getting wax off plus the fo was still on it, could have been just my cheap wood spoons.
  11. Those are pretty.. i love to have some in the green i just done my bedroom in. she's going love them too. lucky mom:)
  12. Thanks all, this is just the third time i ordered from them and never was in a rush before, so i hadn't paid any attention to how long it was. i got a hold of them and she said they had sent me an emailed but it had bounced on the net, came back undeliverable. sent me a new one, got it today and everything is fine.
  13. Are they always late about confirming an order, i placed a order last thurs. and been waiting to hear from them. i always hear from peaks and ky by the next morning, i have orders for the blue bonnet and it aready takes about 8 days me to get my oils from there. i can't remember how long it takes for them to confirm order.
  14. Your son will love it, i made one for my son when he was in high school, he still has it these 7 years later and still proudly displays it on the foot of his bed, at his home. any time his friends came by the house, they would be shown his quilt. i took a bunch of his jeans that he no longer wore , that had holes in some place or the bottom was raggy. cut the tops off a longer enough to get pockets, with about 3 inches below them. cut them up the side seams so i could use front and back, the back had the brand name on them, so that looked good. laid them down on bed and fitted to gather like a jig-saw puzzle some over lapping a tad because i turned them this way and that way, not straight. then hand stitched them down around the edges by taking blanket stitches in a big size. then i used the legs to go around for the border , he's tall so this was easy..lol lined other side in dark blue flannel.
  15. I saw these and i thought...they got to be kidding lol! this one lady said she had ordered 7 sets, and i think they were like $33 for 2, i know they were way high, to me they looked nothing like a candle, was not that bright at all , nor was they colored pretty and i sure can't see how they could have a smell, she did say they weren't strong, i just can't image someone buying these, paying that amount of money. yet will complain about the price of good smelling home made candles and tarts.
