  1. Thanks Heather, I already know I have rocks in my head, but I will check her out!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Heather, How do you find her, on E-bay or the web? Thanks!
  3. Mill Creek's Vanilla Hazelnut Mocha is great also in 50/50/par blend...
  4. Heather, We have tried the Lemon Cheesecake on the recommendation from another chandler on this board and it really is wonderful, hot throw is great @ 10%, cold throw isn't that terrrific for some reason, but we'll keep it, smells great!! We also poured the Cranberry Chutney, great scent hot, but the throw was light IMO. I'd like to make it stronger, but shouldn't have to @ 10%, KWIM? BTW, I am sorry, I use 50/50 blend w/ J223, maybe someone can expand on this and help out w/ throw in 100% soy.
  5. OK, I HAVE to STAY off the computer!!!! I am going to drive myself and my partner nuts!!! BUT-can I get you good folks to let me know what you all think of Creative Candle Supply oils?? Thanks!!!
  6. I LOVE Tuscan Night from Peak!! I can get anybody into it too, once they smell it! I'd call it earthy, great scent, and throws great! Oh...what do you all re-name Nag Champa?
  7. I'm excited, couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it on here already!!!!! Thanks!
  8. I can understand how you feel about blasting a Co. "out loud" so to speak...However, I too am nervous now, contemplating the possibility of buying dilute oils! I think all of us are in the same boat right about now, w/ the Holiday fast approaching, and spending a heck of a lot more than what's coming in!:rolleyes2 I personally would really appreciate knowing, I have samples coming in from everywhere lately! Thanks!
  9. OMG, I am so Freaked out testing scents right now, the thought of that happening is more than I can take!!!!
  10. I have had one supplier tell me that the 50/50 they sold needed a 1 week cure, and another tell me THEIRS needed 24'...SO, I'd like to get some opinions on this myself!! (How much difference can there be from one 50/50 to the next??):undecided
  11. Would you all mind posting the exact web site address? Couldn't find them on Google... Thanks!:smiley2:
  12. Can't speak for soy tarts, mine are paraffin, but I let mine sit just overnight after pouring. Maybe someone can add on to this with opinions on veggie tarts.
  13. I have always read that using crayons to color your candles may result in the wick "clogging", which would make the flame low/ or go out. HTH! (and good luck...read this board!)
  14. Hi Southern, I also have been using this wax, but I mix it w/ J223, this was at Cindy's recommendation @ C&S. Mixing this way gets you a beautiful, smooth, creamy jar, w/ no repour needed ever (slow cooling!), and cuts down on cure time. We use CD Heinz Coreless wicks w/ this blend. With these wicks we get a great hot throw @ 9% w/ MOST oils! HTH!
  15. Thank you, Sharon! ~Sharon:cheesy2: P.S. I love to read all these great stories, so cool to know that there are so MANY of us out there, isn't it!
  16. My son also came up with our name, Simple ScentSations, which wasn't very original and I knew that, but it made my son soooo proud when I said I liked it, (he didn't think I would) that I didn't have the heart to say I wouldn't use it!:smiley2: Now, it's who we are!
  17. Hi E., We did very well last winter season,IMO, and had a late start. We mostly did craft shows, and some private sales, (i.e. @ my work, family members jobs, neighbors, etc...) also an open house at my home. All in all, I was satisfied w/ it, for what we are trying to do, which is baically roll the money we make selling back into producing, w/ out tapping into our other non-candle funds. This year, we only did one early spring show, and never again, it was truly not worth the effort. We made back our booth fee and a LITTLE bit more, that was it. We have also done 2 small fundraisers, and had one open house. We also have our candles in a small country shop, and have since spring, so far that had been rent paid out w/ no return, but I want to hold onto our spot there, and see how well fall and winter sales are. I also have some private sales at work here and there, just small stuff, but I STILL get excited at every dollar someone spends on my stuff! So, basically, I would say that our sales this year have been about half of what they were last fall and winter, so I am looking forward to that again! I still love every minute of it, producing AND selling!! HTH!
  18. Ok, now I know what AKO is...I just need Erika to tell me what the heck IPM is???
  19. Thank you, Cindy, No problem Rochell: Do you find this mix more economical than straight Cyclo.? I tossed the idea around of trying the cycl./FO for body spray, but couldn't come up w/ a cost price for ME that would make it worthwhile to sell. If peeps can buy Body spray at BBW for $9 / 8oz, i don't know if i can compete w/ that. folks that I sell to around here are too cheap!! Meredith: Did you not like the cyclo. when you tried it??
  20. Hi! I use a "blend" of 2/3 J223, and 1/3 par/soy blend, and used to cure a week or more, but now I found that by using a hotter burning wick, that long of a cure time isn't needed. But, I still do find that my candles tend to improve w/ age, even though I can usually get a throw after 24'. HTH
  21. That's cool, gave me something to think on....I Love starting new things, don't you all!!! thanks you guys!!
  22. I guess I'll poll my testers and see what they prefer...I know folks I sell my candles to like them colored...so I'll try w/ out and see! Thanks Rachel!
