  1. Good, just trying to help as much as I can, I know the copy of the actual check helps more then the the carbon copy, but that is why my comany doesn't sell anything other then carbon checks because we don't return the checks to our members.
  2. your bank should still be able to pull the check sohwing who it was made out too, and when the check cleared...I work in the finacial industry...I've leard a few things. Good luck....Bank can't help get the money but they can give you the proof.
  3. Vanilla Nutmeg is mine, it's downstairs and one person asked me where i got Barn scent.
  4. How do you all cool the wax to pour into containers. Reight now i'm heating the wax up in my presto pot, mixing in the additives, FO, and Color then turning down the pot to almost off and waiting forever. I'm doing the pour into a pour pot and wait less time, but not sure if that will work.
  5. I spill using the big pour pot and little pour pot making votives oddly i haven't spilled anything while making the pillars or the 8 oz hex jars.
  6. thanks gerrie, i'm gonna try the metal cups from c&s because they are cheaper, unless there isn't a big difference in plastic and metal...I did a converter between the size from candlewic and candle science cups, and the CS were bigger. what wick do you recommend? and do you use container or pillar or both for your tealight wax?
  7. I ask because everything i've seen for waxes and tealights is to use container wax...so you can make tealights with pillar wax as well?
  8. okay so i'm going to go with tealights with my excess container wax and tarts with the pillar wax, which leads me to the question I'm looking at the tealight mold on candlewic the smaller one and wondering if anyone has used it, and if it's worth spending the extra money on? I've not got the steadiest hand and i know i'll slop a lot of wax trying to pour into the cups.
  9. I remind my DD who pays the mortgage when she complains i get to drink soda and she doesn't.
  10. i don't bake so i'm not sure what the means, but i am proud to say my marmalade moon votives came out looking like the orange marmalade in the fridge
  11. A wife of a co-worker uses them, so i asked her about them, and she said the candle burns more even and they don't flicker....she's going to test one of the bulb jars i'm toying with to test the flicker issue.
  12. Thanks stella, now i'm thinking of doing tealights instead of metls because my boss said she'd buy them from me since she burns a them a lot...and loves the flavored tealights. sooooooooo wicking tealights require a smaller wick then a votive i'm guessing.
  13. i'm with Scented it does look better blown up...once i blew it up then went back to the smaller version i could make out what things are suppose to be.
  14. so that's what those are for I got to linens and things and such with the DW i've picked them up and scratched my head usually the wife is on the other side of the store so i never ask.
  15. Thanks fredron. I use nonstick backing pans to put my excess wax in and haven't had issues getting the wax out yet, but then again they aren't small in size like a muffin mold. Cool, so i'll make the tarts with my pillar/votive wax and it'll require a repour since the wax does... 2 piece mold, i've read a lot about clamshell molds, is that what you are talking about? sorry so long in responding...reading other threads and overlooked my own.
  16. Thanks Flight. 3bees in the general craft discussion there is a link for abreviations and suppliers...it took me a bit to figure out the supplier abbreviations, but after finding that it helped a lot.
  17. sorry about your lost. The whole arrangement is beautiful
  18. I got them from C&S, they come in a pack of 24, if you go to containers/jars then jar accessories you will find them. they fit these jars they say on the site #HDL-B - Candle Handles Fit the following Jars: Standard Apothecary Jars - 10 oz. 16 oz. or 26 oz. Frosted Apothecary Jars - 10 oz. 16 oz. or 26 oz. Large Square 16 oz. Apothecary w/ Wood Lid Victorian Apothecary Jars - 20 oz. or 24 oz. 18 oz. Honey Pot Crocks 18 oz. Pumpkin Jars it's a tight fit on my bulbs, not a lot of wiggle room
  19. if i'm correct in my thinking a mushroomed wick looks like a mushroom, as it burns the wick does not burn away and it get's larger on the end like a mushroom cap....don't quote me on that, it's just what i believe and what i'd call many of candles i've bought and burned have done.
  20. Vio yours worked mine didn't. kimmeroo how do you make the links show words lke you did on these boards...I can't figure it out :undecided
  21. by average 1oz is used pp for 6% here's a great discussion on the math. http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63605
  22. so i've done the searching and i want to make sure i've got my head wrapped around this before i use my extra wax fom pours. 1) tarts can be anywhere from 0.25 oz to 2 oz in weight. 2) tarts usually don't have wicks 3) floaters are wicked using votive wicks and are wicked like a pillar leaving a thin shell 4) i can use a mini muffin pan to make them 5) i can use a regular muffin tin and only fill them 1/2 full 6) would i be better off buying a mold or using dixie cups/muffin tins or cupcake wrappers like i've seen so many of you say you use. 7) don't need to repour 8) can use both container and pillar wax I've got not a lot, but a lot of excess wax, and realized i'd probably have people ask me for tarts Thanks in advance for the help in wrapping my head around this
  23. I've got one more wish, to have a universal wax...one that will do every type of candle...pillar, votive, tart, container, dipping and so forth.
