  1. I'm going to be posting some stuff soon simply because i'm not goin to use them and want to go in a different direction =) IE wax and some containers.
  2. Thanks Candlesprite, i'll have her try it again without cooking Thanks as well murry, i'm down to about 8lbs of the 1286 and i'm going to be switching to either the 4627 or 4630 for containers and tealights, haven't decided yet. I like the ability to use extra FO if needed and not having to measure out the vybar :rolleyes2 I'm using TL-15 which is what CS suggested for the wax, the flame is nice and it burns really even, save for one test burn last night where it drowned itself out(was a vybarless tealight) Since the other wax suggets the TL-13 i think i'll order some of them and test those as well.
  3. I can't edit my post, i just looked at the product info sheet on CS for the 4630 and i stand corrected that does say it is a one pour wax...Sorry i was mistaken (there i go spreading propaganda again)
  4. Thanks SD i found out new info on the friends test burn of the 5 she was cooking fried chicken at the time too, she said she didn't she smell as much chicken in the air, but couldn't smell the candles either.
  5. not sure, i check on Candle Science about the wax because i'm looking the 4630 and 4627 for my containers, it had additives, but only single pour in Candle Science at least are J223 and J50 I've also had a company tell me i could put 1.5 oz of FOper lbs into 1343wax
  6. 4630 is not a single pour wax, you need to put vent holes in while it's cooling and make sure they stay open, and are still open for the repour.
  7. That's a felony, I know here where i work (small bank) if one of the employees were to do that not only would they be out of a job, they would have to pay restitution, and face jail time...I've seen it happen once in the 3 years i've been here.
  8. I know i know i've searched but nothing gave me the answer I made some tealights over the weekend, one i made without vybar and the other with vybar. Now to the good part, The one with vybar burned longer, and did not sweat, the one with vybar burned a lot shorter in time and was sweating. I used 1286 wax, 2 different FOs and vybar 260. both FOs are from C&S I made root beer with 7%FO and 3/4 teaspoon of vybar burn time was roughly 5 hours. hot buttered rum with 7%FO and no vybar burn time was roughly 4 hours. So the question is does vybar affect how much FO can be put in as well as burn time???? This is a major test because i've made some tealights that have thrown for me in testing and at my mothers house, but when i gave them to a friend they had no hot throw, and she had 5 burning and couldn't smell them even leaning right over them using 6%FO all tealights in question were buttercream frosting, root beer, and hot buttered rum. These 3 tests(mine, mom, friend) were all from the same batches. and only 1 yielded bad results...Mom was not the one giving me the feedback, i lit them at her house and she couldn't smell them until she left the room, while i left the room right after i lit them came back in after she said she couldn't smell them and i could smell them, dad came in after me and asked what that smell was...
  9. Anything you take out of business for personal use with out paying for it you need to keep track of and put it into your taxes. If you take stock and give it to friends or family as a gift same thing. I use turbo tax for home and business and there is a box for items taken out for personal use. a USE tax i haven't heard of, in VA we have the state and local taxes, and an area to put in the non-taxable income from out of state sales...
  10. 5 subject notebook divided into candle type pillars/votives, containers, tealights, tarts
  11. I'm doing the debate of QUickbooks premier($450) and ManageMore($200) This is for the managemore user, how well does the program work? I'm looking at the manufacture portion of the program primarily, I can work an inventory section without a problem. How well does it work? Does it really account for the left over wax after a pour? If you use an online store as well how well does it work for that portion? I'm bias to Quickbooks because I use quicken for personal, but i'm not rich enough for the premier edition. TIA for any help.
  12. I buy dollar store hand towels and bath towels, hand towels for wiping up and under my pot, bath towels on the floor and under my molds to catch my spills.
  13. Thanks jbement for that information, I get my honey from a store i found at the Maryland Renn faire, and their site has a lot of honey info, and i know how we get honey, but never knew about the wax I might have to see if they sell the wax this year when we are at the faire. I think we also have a farm sloe to home...I wonder if i could get killer bee wax to go along with my honey....now i want honey.... Any time Anjie, sometimes i've got to set the joke up and wait for the return :tiptoe:
  14. That pearl came from something i read in a post here someplace, but then again i'm known for spreading rumors, lies, and propaganda :pand for misreading and misinterpreting what people say
  15. and it kills bees :tiptoe: Everything we do in some way shape or form is killing us...at least we are using the by-products and not just wasting them. BTW cybersix where did you get my high school photo at?
  16. google Paraffin is a petroleum by-product and you will come across lists and they all point to Soy vs Paraffin sites.
  17. What is the difference of a 70/30 blend? I keep reading about it.
  18. If your site allows coupons you can create a coupon code for that person to use, say to take X% off the total...
  19. Okay i'm in, I'll man the grills. Since i'll be running the grills, I'll be needing lots of drinks from stella and those cabana boys can ONLY bring me drinks and food to be cooked, the rest o' da' stuff back away slowly or we'll be having rotisserie cabana boy for dinner:p edit: what food the cabana boys are bringing me
  20. That's almost my neck of the woods I'm on the peninsula in VA...I'm also one of them guys that make candles as well. Candle Science is who i use for my wax. If you are in NC you might be close enough to drive down to Durham. to pick it up.
  21. The supplier we buy our incense from also sells bag, not sure if they are polyethylene, but a lot of the resin incense holders out there are polyethylene. I'd say it shouldn't be a problem.
  22. there are ways I use a .host file in the root of my domain with a list of IPs that will block them from entering...You can add domain names as well, but it's more effective to use the IP address.
  23. Natty no offense but business is cut throat at times...do you honestly think the multi million dollar companies didn't do the same thing you are pissed off about in order to get to the top? Bill Gates undermined his own parter Steve Jobs, and cut him out then got into bed with IBM to all but monopolize the PC world with Microsoft. Business is about making money, my DW's store is one of a host of stores on the internet, and that's just people like us, let's not forget out suppliers are selling the same stuff, and we've got to compete with them as well. If i can spend the money to get my name above them, and customers buying from me, then i spent money to make money, and that's the name of the game with business to make money. Now if i had expendable money to throw around i'd open a store front like we want to and I wouldn't have to worry if i made money or not. What is the most efficient business tactic, spend money to get ahead (being lazy) or spend months even years compiling the information while those who you call lazy get ahead?
  24. I misread your post and thought you wanted them matte. I don't know how much vybar for soy wax.
