what's the diameter of the 6 inch tapers? It's a diameter thing as well, wanting them to fit in the holders i have. I know i'm being picky:laugh2:

I bought one from them, but that's what i'm looking for but multiple together like the old style 12 tapers you see at estate sales. I'll call Candlewic later this week and see if they might be able to make it.

from my understanding usually 6% is the most you want to add to wax, that is roughly 1oz per pound of wax. I haven't used that wax before so it might be different and i'm sure someone else will chime in that has used the wax. Personally i'd stick with 1oz of FO to 1lbs of wax.

it depends on the wax and the FO. What wax are you using? I've seen a few that i have i know are heavier then others, and i've used a little less then 1oz pp.

sharyl, that we are, i've contemplated on the eastern shore, but i'm still trying to get out of VA. Now for the dogs, i think it's a scent thing and knowing the dog is around you when you are either burning the candle or after a shower....that's my theory at least.

I don't ask, she says her dog loves candles and flowers, and thinks it's probably her mother reincarnated. she say her dog will come up and smell candles, if it likes the candle it will stretch out and go to sleep, if it doesn't it'll go into another room. She lite mine and the dog came over sniffed for a few seconds rolled over and started sawing logs.

it does sound like you had fun thought. If you do have samples try giving them to your daughter to pass on to her friends, who will tell their mothers, and you can see my train of thought i'm sure.

So i didn't sell as many candles as i hoped, but it's a tiny fair and i mean office party size However, comma those that i have sold to have had a chance to burn them over the weekend. My votive people were impressed at how straight the wicked stayed and the throw was awesome. They melted beautifully and were very happy. My pillar buyers said the same thing. I make a couple of containers after my testing and one lady bought a bulb jar and her dog absolutly loves it. Not to mention she said it's amazing, it's not flickering the flame is the right height, the melt pool is in her words "the most perfect pool i've ever seen" so with that behind me and what i've learned, i'm going on to new and wonderful scents.

I use the flip top lids as well, C&S send them along with my FO. I think i'm going to have to start saving them instead of tossing them when i'm done with the bottle.

:laugh2: that's the problem, i'm the hubby and do more then make candles. I could use a miter saw for a lot of things around here including the candles. Guess if i get one, i'll have to cover it somehow and change the blade when i'm doing candles.

the problem i see with what you got Nat is i'll use it for more then candles then mess up the candles because of saw dust

I went to lowes and bought a small level and then to target and bought a flat bottomed frying pan. I put the little level on top of the candle and hold it level while i run the candle over the warmed pan surface. It's worked for me.

i know growing up we used a round piece of paper with a hole in the middle designed to do what you want....I've seen people use paper cups as well when i've seen viguals and such on the news
