  2. FYI, I have a lot of problems getting the mini pinecones out of Ginger's molds. You can also try http://www.rosescandles.com/molds_silicone.htm
  3. http://www.bensonmarketinggroup.com/index.html THEY ARE GOOD PEOPLE TO WORK WITH, NEVER PURCHASED LABELS FROM THEM, BUT A LOT OF MY CUSTOMERS DO.
  4. yes, it is a secret.:lipsrseal ..sorry...I actually have a few recipes. I spent over 15 years getting them experimenting to get the way I want. And to tell you the truth, I don;t use a recipe, everything is done by eye and taster. I do PB, PB Crispy, Choc PB Fudge, Coconut, and Cherry coconut. I actually made some on WEd. night, I couldn't wait. I have a secret ingredient to each one, but the basic PB is PB, powdered Sugar, and butter. Some like to add Cream cheese, but then you need to refridgerate. I also like to use a mixer with mione and really add air, which maked them nice and creamy. But I do find that you need to use brand name PB, and the perfect chocolate, Merkens or Wilbur are the best.
  5. we'll she never asked for wholesale, and never logged in, so I'm not offering. I didn't have to put much effort into it, never downloaded it off the system, so no legwork involved, but just kind of irritates you when they abuse the system.
  6. I'm getting just a little jacked at this lady.. She has now palced two orders in the past two day sand cancelled them both. WTF? The next order she is being processed immediately and will not be able to cancel it. Anyone deal have this problem? I think she is a wholesale reying to buy, but never requested, she keeps talking about shipping to a commercail address and checking inventory. Ready to put a block on her email
  7. I sewed for many years, making all kinds of dolls. My main passion for about 18 years was chocolate. This is the 2nd year that I haven't made candy...and I'm itching to make PB eggs. One year I made over 2000 eggs! DH suggested making some tarts out of my molds, but I'm going back into chocolate within the next 2 years, once I get everything they way I need it to be. Got my stuff ready to do eggs...its close enough to easter! Other thatn that, I can take anything and put it togehter...except wreaths..can't make those worth a darn. I'd love to learn wool rug hooking...that's on my next list, been reading C&D way too much.
  8. I checked out their showroom in Atlanta, but everything is assorted styles or colors, and didn't like that too much. Prices are reasonable I think. I don't remember what their minimum was.
  9. Anyone make them? I'f anyone's interested in wholesaling them to me let me know. Doesn't necessarily need to be made of bayberry wax. I wouldn't need them until next year of course, but trying to prep things for next holiday season. tia
  10. WOW!! I have the best buddy! I got the package today..and can i just say that I am beyond impressed. Everything looks and smells awesome. It looks so professional it could be out of a catalog. My 5yr old was so excited, he was picking everything up and smelling it. I like the solid perfume. I don't wear perfume, but I am just start....I'll be keeping it in my purse for sure. Can't wait to try everything out. I'll be having a pampering this w/e while DH is away.
  11. Looks pretty good, I bet with the light coat of it, like you have on it, compared to the others I've seen, would make it glow through the jar really cool. Very prim.
  12. For your reading pleasure....just recieved this email. This message contains graphics. If you do not see the graphics, click here to view. To help you plan for the coming year, we want you to know about new UPS rates and services that will take effect January 1, 2007. Next year, UPS Retail Rates will replace On-Demand Rates. This means your rates will be the same whether you prepare your shipments online and drop them off at any of our 63,000 locations and UPS Drop Boxes, or have your packages processed at The UPS Store® locations or UPS Customer Centers. UPS published Retail Rates will change as follows*: UPS Ground service to commercial and residential destinations will have the same transportation charge, based on the lower commercial rate, and will increase 4.9%. The Ground residential surcharge that was previously built into the Ground residential rates will now appear as a separate charge on your UPS invoice. Air and International services will increase a net 4.9%, through a combination of a 6.9% increase in rates and a 2% reduction in the air fuel surcharge. In addition, the Delivery Area Surcharge and Residential Surcharge will both increase by $0.10. On December 1, 2006, you may preview 2007 rates and accessorial charges, and download the Surcharge Reference Guide, at ups.com/rates2007. The complete 2007 UPS Rate and Service Guide will be available for download on the site beginning January 1, 2007. Conversion from Oversize to Dimensional Weight Billing Oversize charges for larger packages shipped via UPS Ground services will be replaced with a simpler rate calculation based on dimensional weight. Dimensional weight will only apply to UPS Ground packages measuring three cubic feet (5,184 cubic inches) or larger. Packages measuring less than three cubic feet will continue to be billed based on actual weight. As a result of this change, dimensional weight charges will gradually increase as the package size increases, eliminating significant steps from one Oversize tier to the next. If the actual weight is greater than 70 pounds, an Additional Handling Charge of $8.00 will also apply. To offset this cost, we have lowered most UPS Ground rates for packages weighing more than 70 pounds. For more information, please visit ups.com/dimweight2007. 13. Anyone ever seen these before? I would like a bunch of these. http://cgi.ebay.com/LOT-Of-SOAP-SUPPLIES-MOLDS-CLAMSHELLS-CHRISTMAS_W0QQitemZ220048600142QQihZ012QQcategoryZ28116QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  14. Molds arrived today and wax, wicks, scent arrives between friday and monday. DH is building some tables to get all the molds on. Having our open house for the store tomorrow. We'll be moving our inventory to a co-op in town as we'll need most of the space for this customer plus hoping that Word of mouth brings on some new customers too.
  15. Anyone try out this from Wal-mart? Just seen it in the ad today. Wandering if it might work to melt some small batches of wax vs a smaller melter. Thinking it might be close to a presto pot. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5065370
  16. I was told if you make over 100K or have employees, you should inc or llc. Otherwise, it is not efficient. it costs a lot of money to start it up and if you are only doing this at a small level, you may go broke before even start. Each individual is different. Call your attorney or accountant.
  17. It's used for soy, or so I think, It is a cotton wick with a red strand down the middle. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
  18. yeah, most stores won;t have the time of day for you now, and more than likely they'd be more likely to NOT to buy from you because you are "bothering" them during the busy season. But it doesn't hurt getting business cards and scoping them out.
  19. Go to your local stores and check out what types they are selling, they may noght match up to what you are selling. Find the ones you think and grab a card. Then follow up/make appts. As far as chains. it depends. Some have corporate buying locations and some buy individually. I have one chain specifically that has 70 stores. Each one buys themselves. I got into one, now after 2 months, I'm into 3 more, cause they talk to each other. I will never get into all 70 cause each one has a different style, but at least its working to my benefit. Other than that chains are very hard to work with. I worked in the buying office for Bon Ton & Giant, and their procedure was very tough. What you would normally wholesale for $5.00, they want it for $3.00.
  20. You still have to file a $0
  21. A lot of it has to do with the transportation schedules. It usually costs more to ship west to east, then vice versa. However moving from lg city to lg city is cheaper than wither way from small towns. If you are near a hub, its cheaper. The farther away you are frojm a hub, the more money it costs, they can take on $1.25-".50 each box for being out of the delivery area. Plus, being a residence it can be $2.50-4 each box delepding on the carrier. And it seems UPS is always the most expensive, especially for residential addresses.
  22. $1 a can of clear spray in the spray paint aisle at wal-mart, I always have a few cand of it on hand.
  23. It's hard to explain. I worked the numbers back and forth for about 3 days, and I am satisfied with the profit margin. your PM isn't as high with wholesale and esp contract manuf.. Plus this is only one of his lines, there are 4 more, so hopefully those come to me too. Its like wal-mart, they may only make .50 on a $10.00 widget, but they sell thousands of them that makes up to be a lot of money.
