  1. When I think marsala..I think of that mushroom sauce on chicken! I would think cedar would be nice
  2. I go by my invoices. I have QB, so i can just review it at any time to see what sold the most. I always know the top 10 scents at all time. Cause a lot of the time people just ask for assorted and top scents for their orders. Course, i know what doesn't sell, casue those are what I order in at a # at a time. we have all our scents in 5# jugs at our work station, and then the lower sellers in # bottles on a shelf.
  3. Has anyone tried cutting up silicone mats and lining them with that to cut to fit? Just curious, i picked some up for a couple bucks and haven't had the chance to try it yet. I wonder if that would work??
  4. I think we are using 1tsp CO per lb of GB415. Works great and has nice smooth tops.

  6. You will need to go to a parrafin in order to get a black. I make a black candle with no problems. I use a liquid dye.
  7. I posted this down at the co-op But an FYI SFIC reaised their prices big timwe w/o notice! Just got a letter today.
  8. could be....we are coming to Dallas in the summer to check it out. Friends of ours do it and want us to go too.
  9. Just call back the promoter and tell them you want to check it out first and they can issue a badge without the hassle. They will give you a "guest" badge.
  10. Basically I want some thing that smealls like a PB easter egg. Any suggestions? All the PB I tried so far smell worse than scratch & sniff stickers.
  11. Rushing = $1200 booth fee+$1000 carpet/walls+$100 electric+$150 drearage charges+$650 hotel + $100 travel+ $500 meals+$500 catalogs+300 samples About $4500 minimum So you need to write at least $25,000 to make it profitable. Then can you meet the demand of all them wanting it in 2 weeks or they cancel? Are you willing to risk to not to write a single order? unless you got the next beanie babie, its a tough market to jump into. Attendance and sales are down everywhere! I've done about 50 trade shows now, and I would say now is not the time. If you are not ready...the attendees and other exhibitors WILL notice. My booth backdrop alone weighs ~500# and is worth about $2000, as I got about 10 offers last week to buy it(wish I could but its one of a kind) I suggest going to the show as a guest and check out other displays and talk to other vendors first.
  12. Tenderheart has some nice metal shopping baskets. That's wat I use.
  13. can you PM your insurance agents info. I called one local to my area, and he said they don't cover manufacturers.
  14. I buy mine form a local distributer of bulkfoods....hmm..their site says they only ship to the US. Heck I just got 8# of non periels for my cupcakes for $11..
  15. What kind of sprinkles?? Like for cupcakes?
  16. This is the first year we didnt exhibit at atlanta. Sales are down and no one is traveling..so we decided to cut it for a couple years. Atlanta isnt what it used to be, even 2 years ago. Also, you need to keep in mind that you need to do a trade show on average 3 years before you start seeing big numbers. So that means putting over 20K up front before you really get your $ back. I've seen many companies come and do barelay a sale at a show to never see them again...ever. Either they weren't prepared, diplay sucked, or they really didnt have the capital to put in it. Booth presence is very important. I have learned the hardway too. I know who to stay away from and who to be next too to get the big $. I',m now to the point where they come looking for me, but booth placement is still #1 prority in doing a show.
  17. Do all scents/colors mottle? Reason I'm asking cause I made some pillars and my dark blue one has one mottle spot, another has only a couple litt le snowflakes, others however have a lot and look awesome. All using the same wax.
  18. That's what I asked too. They said they can do a seperate policy for just that for $500 a year.
  19. yeah! I called the soap Guild insurance gal and I still need another insurance policy on top, but even with that, i'll save almost $2700 a year vs my previous policy! Glad I started making soap!:highfive:
  20. I need help!! My insurance dropped my insurance and won't renew cause my crappy insurance agent dropped the ball. So...even though she is still looking...I need to look too!
  21. First you need to add a good UV to both the cinnamon bun wax and the icing. THis will help a lot with it, but it still will bleed. We make all of our cb stuff in advance and drizzle it upon order. We have melted so much down that was down earlier that started to look like crap after a while.. I use a soy pillar blend for my drizzle with added whitner to it and paraffin blend for the base. The drizzle has to be done at a cool temp just as a film starts across and is rather cloudy. The most we make up of our CB's is a week in advance, however I have had some grubbys on the shelf for 4 months(to test), that look good.
  22. How weird....they just faxed an order over.....they must have been reading my thoughts!!
  23. That would be great if I wasnt at the other end of the state on that day at the same time for a show...good luck! Sounds like fun!
