  1. It took me a while to find that too. My Cinnamon Candles is just a little more red than my cranberry. A lot of cinnamon oils will turn them purplish.
  2. It's a waste of time for that. Unless they can show me the money that they will commit to a few thousand $ a year...not worth it. I've done it in the past, but if they have a 2nd location they can easily get it shipped there then move it next door to where its already being sold(i actually have a couple stores like that). But honestly, the chances of selling to neighboring shops are pretty slim unless you are a big company.
  3. i make citronella candles in painted tins all the time...never a problem and they get super hot
  4. Ive never been told about PCI compliance. I dont have it, and I never paid atttention to other websites that have it. Sounds like a lot of BS to me
  5. try merchant e-solutions or chase payment tech...both great companies..all one rate, no extra fees
  6. i've done that also, but I also I have several candlemakers that buy wholesale from me.
  7. Im remodeling my shop and need some new layout ideas for manufacturing and storage. Anyone want to share pics, prefereably those who have bigger operations. TIA
  8. Well all I can say is Wow. It grave great pics of your product and you pouring candles. I thinks its a great job...and I had no idea you were only 17. I think you have accomplished an incredible amount for your age!
  9. Keystone has a Vermont Maple Syrup
  10. I was going to get the one from Sams this week....uugghhh. I need a new one before the end of the month. Need a good sturdy white one that will alst more than 5 years. I have one that is almost 10yrs and is in excellent condistion yet. There is no COtsco around here, so the membership wouldn't do much good....:undecided
  11. I know last year I made around $200, course doesn't come close to the fees I paid to them:angry2: I pay 1.5% higher credit card fees to accept it.
  12. I only use two from them, but are both good sellers for me: Butter Pecan Pie Lavender
  13. Four Seasons Bath & Body Supplies Turn of the Season Supplies
  14. How about this: Red-Republican(since the states are that color on the elections results map) White-Independant Blue-Democrat(since the states are that color on the elections results map) That way when you display them, they will be very patriotic too! I bet you could waterslide some decals of a donkey and elephant on them
  15. Mine is a 12" with a foot pedal. Sometimes I like it wider cause I can do two small things at a time, depending how my coordination is at the time.
  16. Thre are actually a few loop holes out there that he could probably get away with it. I was looking into licensing with a brand and asked the licensing rep about some other candles, as she said I would be the only candle maker they had, and she told me about the loop holes that can be done with out technically violating any laws. It's a "fuzzy" area.
  17. Don't want to argue, but I beg to differ. There are upteen different companies out there with the same name. A DBA does not protect you! I had a course in college on openign a business and all the needed permits and regulations you need and I rememebr doing a whole week on business names. My corporate name is protected in my state only, no one else can use it only cause it is incorporated, but someone can open another company with the same name in a neighboring state can. What you file is CA has nothing to do with MT. I have 4 stores named The Picket Fence all in different states, do you think that would really happen if there were protection? For my store name, there were 4 of us in my state alone. If you need clarification, please call you state busineess office where you filed your forms. Here's a link that can explain http://businessnameusa.com/articles/business_name/business_name_protection.htm
  18. Unless you have your name trademarked, even then it can be iffy, forget it! It's called free enterprise. 99% chance that she did not copy off of you ,probably just a coincidence. It's your problem that you didn't register that name too..not being mean..just the way it is. I sugges ttaht anyone who registers a web name also looks into all the alternatives that it could be and buy them up, it's only a few dollars a year!
  19. I think they are similar template, but each has its own uniqueness. Mabe she just really liked your site and setup. It's easy to get upset about stuff like this. I just had a very good (now ex)customer rip me off totally at a trade show....it totally pisses you off!! As long as she remains a good paying customer....shrug it off for now.
  20. Here's the thing about retialers...they are there to sell your stuff! That's it! Very little creativity there, that's why they must use your descriptions and pics, because you know your product the best. Now, not saying this is right, but I have tons of customers that use my pics off my site. If you don't want them using your pics, put a watermark on them or block them. As long as she is one of your customers buying your products and making you money, why be too concerened?
  21. I have a feeling that reps are going to die off from the price of fuel. rememeber to follow up with your cutomers!
