  1. Lotion bars come to mind. Or larger size lip balms.
  2. I recently made a lovely face serum and used eight oils. Oils only. No additives whatsoever. And it's fantastic. I researched each oil's properties and used only those that I thought would enhance the product. It is mostly for my own use but I did give some to a good friend who has truly problem skin and it did wonders for her. Don't need all that filler stuff for a remarkable product.
  3. There also looks like there is a big blob of something (looks like a bug embedded) on the lower right of the candle. I do like your logo.
  4. What are the beans(?) on the label? Do they relate in any way to the product?
  5. I have a really simple one that I"ll post when I get home this evening.
  6. I make body spray (not perfume) using one of two methods: cyclomethicone (80%), FCO/sweet almond oil (10%), and FO (10%) OR FCO/sweet almond (90%) and FO (10%) Both of them rock. These also work well in a roll-on bottle.
  7. I think she clearly doesn't know what in the crap she's talking about. She's in the wrong and trying to assign blame anywhere but on herself for not monitoring her child close enough. Thank you MissMary for saying this in a much more coherent manner!
  8. That black soap is AWESOME. Of course, the rest of 'em aren't too slouchy, either. Good job!!!
  9. In my opinion it's a wash on those prices; the differences are negligible. Pick whatever jar you like and go with it.
  10. Do you use the same percentage for the BTMS as you would ewax? Your scrub looks great!
  11. I bought mine from bed bath and beyond on line.
  12. But why would you think that's a good idea? It would just scratch the crap outta your lips.
  13. Why would you want to put flowers in lip gloss? Seems rather bizarre.
  14. No. I would record the charge as if it was in there already, thereby balancing my account and avoiding an overdraft. The overdraft is not the fault of the vendor . . .
  15. Thanks for this specific realtor information. I'll be making candle samples for her this weekend. And thanks to the others for your input, I really do appreciate it.
  16. The wife of one of my co-workers is a realtor, so I asked the co-worker if she gives her buyers/sellers little gifts. Of course, she does, but I had to ask anyway. He said Yes so my question now is--how do I price my candles to her? As a wholesale account or as a retail account? Any discounts? For volume, maybe? She won't be reselling them so she won't be a retailer, and maybe I just answered my own question. Anyhoo, what do YOU do?
  17. Scent Works' London Lemon Curd is my all-time favorite. OMG that one sends me over the moon! Pink Sugar is another fave, especially in sugar scrubs--just seems to fit and the aroma is fab. Don't care much for the "bakery" aromas in B&B stuff.
  18. I'm of the school that candles should be either pillars or in glass containers as looking at the candle as it's burning and the light it throws is part of its beauty. especially in very low light conditions. Neither do I understand the concept of a "travel candle." I've taken glass container candles with me while traveling and have never had a problem with any of them. I've never made candles in tins and don't plan to, but they are good sellers so folks obviously like them. Just my thoughts here.
  19. Wow, what beautiful candles.
  20. Yep, looks like soy to me. Not pretty but neither I nor my customers seem to care. I tell first-time customers that soy wax doesn't make a very smooth top but they burn well. They don't care.
  21. Milk bath in really hot water, candle(s) on the edge of the tub, glass of wine, lie back in said hot water and breathe in the aroma of the milk bath and candle(s). Aaaaaahhhhhhh. Divine. Yes, I make the milk baths and candles. Not the wine.
