    I especially love lotion bars in the winter when skin is dry from indoor heat.

    Don't waste the good EVOO on soap! I use the cheapest I can find and it works out great.

    "Flavor oils" don't actually flavor. They are a lip-safe fragrance oil. It has been noted in many places that if you sweeten a lip balm, folks will tend to lick their lips more which erodes the lip balm, thereby defeating the purpose of the balm. I prefer my lip balm unsweetened but do like the fragrance aspect of the "flavor" oil. You're simply fooling the taste buds through your nose.

    I don't believe I'd put a colorant in a body spray for fear it would get on one's clothes.

    So start researching what you want to make on here and you will find recommendations all over the place. Isn't there a place or thread or something somewhere on CT that lists suppliers, etc?

    And then there is the preservative that must be in the lotion. Do some research on what is the appropriate preservative and the appropriate percentage for your ingredient ratios.

    My biggest caution about making lotion is that you MUST be sure your work area and all vessels, utensils and containers are as clean as possible. Rinse everything with bleach including your work station. This is an absolute MUST. I even wear rubber gloves to avoid contaminating already-cleansed areas and utensils.

    Why in the world would you buy an entire pound of an FO without testing a sample first? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Yes, buying samples can get a little pricey from time to time but it's a whole lot cheaper than buying a pound and then discovering you don't like the throw. Geez, it could be you're using the wrong wax.
