  1. I am just in the testing stages of the Spicy apples and peaches and it does seem to be drowning alittle with our normal size wick. This Old house was fine. We use C-3 with premier 770. I have noticed that I have to wick up lots of Peaks oils and not just the spicy ones.
  2. The one I saw I think was made for Bass Pro. The master built ones look nice, but the one I saw was online at target for $119 and then the shipping is $39.00. We are going by a Bass Pro this weekend and if I can save that kind of shipping I would like to. The one at Bass pro is $99 and has the spigot.
  3. We are looking at buying one this weekend and I think we are getting one at Bass pro shop. It is electric with the drain spigot. Is there anything else that I should be looking for? Thanks for the heads up. Karen
  4. Anyone looking for some strong scents. From Tennessee Candle supplies. These scents are soooo strong in our C-3. We can't test any other scents in the house when we are burning these. They are awesome. The aloe and tea tree is also nice.
  5. I have tried the Brown sugar and fig from several other suppliers and Peaks is by far the best that I have found. I made up a whole set of body products for myself and just started on our candle line with it. I am surrounding myself in this scent. I Love It!!!! The gingerbread cookies is growing on me, at first I wasn't sure, you must put it in wax to judge it. It smells to me exactly like the molasses cookies from Archway. Gotta love that.
  6. We use coconut banana blast from Peaks for our monkey farts. It is one of our best sellers I think because of the name
  7. Thanks, I edited my post from v-1 to 474 that I got at the candle makers store. Somedays I scare myself at how clueless I am:o
  8. We are about to embark to the world of votives. Up to now we have only done container candles using c-3. We have the 4 oz. glass flower pots, but would really rather sell the votives. I have 10 lbs of 474 to start with. My question is, when repouring the tops is it easier to save some of the wax already mixed with the fo in a separate container and remelt in the microwave or to mix another batch of wax and repour. Any tips would be helpful. I know that it is another trial and error and see what works best for the individual, but I was just looking for some starting points. TIA
  9. Greenleaf has a rosemary that is very strong. It is my sisters and my favorite. It might be nice to mix with something.
  10. HI Casey, We only use 1 oz per lb. (we use C-3) and still get a great throwing candle. You can try the 1.5 and test and see what happens. I notice, especially with the lav van. that the oil tends to seep a little when you use more. Good luck. Karen
  11. I love many of MC oils. Some that throw well for me in tarts and candles are: Grandma's kitchen Cozy home Cinnamon Van. (one our biggest sellers) Lav Van. (again, one of our biggest sellers) white tea and ginger caramel apple spanish melon sweet orange and chili pepper honeysuckle vine lilac breeze(another big seller) gain high cotton I loved MC 125 wax. It always threw very well for us
  12. I haven't tried a Peak's oil that hasn't thrown well for me. Glad you found a winner. Karen
  13. Has any one gotten the wsp concentrated body wash and added any other oils to it? We are in such of a body wash that would have soy in it for moisturizing purposes. We have tried MC soy body wash base and it seems to thinning alot with just a little fo. I was just wondering if since the wsp was concentrated if it wouldn't thin as much, but would like to add a little soy to keep with our soy line.
  14. Most of the mc scents that we have tried have been really strong. We have actually had customers return our Gain scent because it was too strong for them. (we use 1 oz per 1 lb of wax, c-3, premier 700 wicks, we do notice weaker throw in a/c )
  15. We use coconut milk from peak' in our c-3. It is pure coconut, not too sweet
  16. Hi, I was just curious about what you picked out. I love Peak's oil. I am pouring my testers from Candle Science and they smell amazing. I love to test for scent but not wicking.
  17. What other oils from peaks did you get and what do you like? Karen
  18. I have yet to be disappointed with any oils from Peaks as far as their scent throw. If I didn't like them it was just that I didn't care for that certain scent. I unlike almost all of my customers do not like many florals and my biggest sellers are lav-van. and lilac. I just love pouring those lol. Have fun with all of your samples Gran-8.
  19. I never really attributed the air conditioning with testing until now and I do believe it. The same candles that I have pulled from stock that I know for a fact had go throw in the spring I can hardly smell. I thought for sure that is was the dreaded candle nose. I have been testing in my attached garage that is a somewhat hotter than the house but no AC and the throw is much better. I was starting to worry that I was losing it. What a bummer though that I can hardly smell my candles. I started making candles because I love them so much. I'm wondering if our customers notice the decrease throw? I know not many our customers burn too many candles during the summer, our other air freshner sales go up in the summmer. It makes it kind of hard to test our fall scents though.
  20. After reading all the reviews for CS scents and not having tried them before, I am dying for the samples to arrive. I can't wait the test them. So far for the season I have tried samples from TNC,ICS,WSP, and peaks, I've gotten a few nice ones from all, but I have to say Peaks are by far the strongest HT that I have poured ,especially not curing that long. I would love if CS has some strong ones for my C-3. I seem to struggle with the HT. I am excited for my 30 samples to arrive!
  21. B&B Sweet Cinnamon pumpkin is def. a musk base. I actually love it for a fall body product, but I think the name throws people off a little. I don't think it would be a good candle scent with the name, not enough cinno or pumpkin.
  22. Hi Hexie, I forgot to keep checking about Fillmore getting FO. He talked about it the last time I was there. That is pretty exciting for us PA folks!!!!
  23. We use 98 cent plastic pitchers from walmart, the ones they put out in the beginning of the spring. People think we are nuts because we load our cart up with them. The ones we got this year were great because they had the 16 oz markings already on them. We just used a sharpie and marked them darker. I think we loaded up with 50 this year because you can only get them in the spring and summer.
