  1. Arethe 16 oz. Platinum jars like the 16 oz. masons? If so, they are 2 1/2 at the top and 3 at the widest part. We used to use the 415 soy(only switch to c-3 because we could get it locally) and used htp 126 in most of our scents and htp 1212 in the hard to melt( cinno) in our 16 oz. masons. Hope this helps Karen
  2. Can anyone tell me if they have to normally wick their fudge scent up. We use c-3 and use 1 oz. fo per lb. We have used Green leaf and Peaks Fudge Brownie, both of which have been tunneling with testing. We use premier 770 in 16 oz mason. We only have to wick up cinno and sweet orange. I was just wondering if anyone else has to wick up their choc. Thanks. Karen
  3. I just wanted to thank everyone on this forum for helping me find my way to Peak's Fo's. Every sample that I poured today from them is awesome. Their mandarin plum is unbelievably strong, pink sugar, amish harvest, lemon bundt, all great. The mandarin plum is by far my favorite. Thanks again. Karen
  4. Kimber, I have notice that too ( about the watery consis.) What do you use instead, if you don't mind telling me. Thanks, Karen
  5. We actually do use more fo than they suggest and have not noticed that it makes the bases too oily. We are testing the bases now with some oils from oregon trail and they do seem to be stronger.
  6. We are fairly new to body products and take the easy way out and use all of Millcreek body bases. We like them, but are not experience at all with any soap or perfume making. Does not seem to separate that I can tell. Maybe someone more experienced with soap making can help you better. Karen
  7. I use it and love it. One of our biggest sellers. It is more apple pie that mulled spices. You can actually smell the apple in it, which we were having problems finding on that the spices didn't cover the apple.
  8. We use the C-3 and finally worked the kinks out for us. We can get it locally and it saves us so much shipping. We have used 415 and really liked the results. Karen
  9. Pepperberry- like it Green Irish Tweed- love it Tahitian melon and passionfruit- like it Mardi gras- not sure Brute- not so much Egyptian musk- like it Flowers and herbs- love it Garden Path- like it Amber dawn- not sure, smells a little too mcuh like cedar chips( I know I have to test in soap before making decision) Buzzy Bumble Buttermilk- like it. Bahama vanilla- love it Black Pepper- not sure Hawaiian sandalwood- love it Lime sugar Supreme- not sure I would want to smell like that I already know that I love their vetiver, just not sure if it would sell around here. I wish I could stop myself from ordering samples. It is my favorite part of this business. Thanks you guys. Karen
  10. Yeh, I got my samples today. Now the big problem! , narrowing it down to 10 scents for our body line, which for now is just simple wash, lotion, and body spray. I would love to expand a few things more, but I am afraid we won't have the time to do it. Thanks for all the replies. Karen
  11. I have poured Fragrance Heaven Tuscan Herb and do like it. It needs a little time to cure. I like Peak's Tuscan Nights much better, it is stronger and has a better scent I think.
  12. I like fudge brownie from Green leaf
  13. I actually have had both and like them both. They are kind of similar in that they are a bakery type spice. I know that we have very similar scents that both sell because of the different names, but similar enough that we can't pour them at the same time because we can't tell them apart.
  14. Thanks everyone. I think perhaps it was just an over looked order. Everyone drops the ball once and awhile. I'm glad to hear good reports on the shipping because I love their oils. Just impatient because I live getting samples. Thanks again. Karen
  15. I was wondering if anyone else had problems with Oregon Trail shipping? I placed an order for oil samples on April 25 and never received shipping confirmation, called them last week and they said it was sitting waiting to be mailed, still no shipping confirmation. I emailed today and only then did I receive confirmation that it shipped out today. I love there oils and wanted to put some in our body line, but I am a little afraid to depend on them if I would need them quickly. None of our other suppliers took near as long to place the ship. Just curious. Thanks, Karen
  16. I just ordered a sample pack from Peaks. I have never ordered from there before, but after finding this candle forum I am learning so much. We only had ordered from Millcreek, Bittercreek and Greenleaf. I never knew there were so many suppliers out there. We basically do soy candles, but are looking into easy b&b. So excited to get samples, WE have them coming from Oregon trail and now Peaks. We are so bad with ordering samples. I bet we have over 100 in our shop that we haven't tried yet, we didn't really like all the scents. By the way I am Sister Karen(partner of Sisters @ Wicks End,not from a convent) I have 3 children, all boys 2 of which are twin 2 year olds, hence the name of our business. Thank you all for all of the wonderful info. I am learning so much.
  17. We have used the litsea and basil. I like it ,but it takes a while to cure. Their lilac is one of our best sellers, so is their Grandma' kitchen and Cozy home. I really like the twigs and berries, it smells better when it burns. Their lav. vanilla is also very strong. I also like their High cotton and I love!!!!!their sweet orange chili pepper. Karen. I am looking for a very nice strong vanilla. We use buttercream from Greenleaf, but would like a plain vanilla. Any suggestions?
  18. I also love Millcreek's Cozy Home or Grandma's kitchen. They are our biggeset sellers. Use them is our c-3 wax.
  19. We just started with the party plan also. We have a local printer that does all of our printing needs. They even developed our logo for us fairly inexpensively. We have postcards printed. We keep them simple and then the hostess fills in the info and mails them. For ex. "You are in invited to a - Candle party Date: Time: Hosted by: etc.. We also put on that there is no formal Presentation , just come ane enjoy smelling many wonderful scents etc..... I think they look professional, yet only cost us I think .10 $ a piece. Our printer just keeps them in their file and we pick them up when we need them. I would just call around and see who would be willing to work with you. Good luck to you. Ours is going well. We just signed on our first consultant. Karen
  20. We love our presto pots. If you know someone handy (my husband did ours), have them weld on a spigot for you. We have three like that and would be lost without them. They sell them on ebay for $50 on up.
  21. We have used Millcreek's spearmint. It wasn't a bid seller in our soy candle line, but I personally loved the way it smelled. It was strong once it cured and didn't discolor our undyed candles.
  22. We also use the c-3. We haven't had any problems with the scent throw, only sink holes. We just do a second pour. We have found the premier 700 wicks to work well for us. We use a 745 in our 8 oz. jelly and a 767 in our 16 oz. mason. Some of our heavy scents we have to wick up. We got samples from wicknclips. Their price for 1000 of them is great, if you need that many.
  23. I was wondering if anyone has happened to see a FO "type" Breathe Comfort-vanilla milk from Bath and Body works. I love the scent and would like to find a fo. I googled a search to no avail. Just curious if anyone has seen it anywhere. It is like a vanilla musk.
  24. I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention. I never saw that size flower pot, but I'll keep my eye out for them, they sound pretty cool.
