  1. I am thinking about getting the 8 oz. flat lid apotho jar. The side measures approx. 1.25" tall. Do you use the 1" x 2.63" label on the side of the jar or the 2" or 2.5" round label on the lid? Thank you.
  2. Has anyone tried both the 6006 and APOP from Alabaster? If so, which do you prefer?
  3. If you have a Garden Ridge close by they have them. When they put them on sale I think they are 3 for $1.00.
  4. I have been reading up on 6006 wax and would like to find out what the maximum % of FO you can use. One site I read was 8% and another said 10%. Those of you wo use it, what would you suggest? Thank you.
  5. Buttercup, thank you for the info. I went back and looked at the co-op and it says that they are polypro.
  6. I am thinking about getting in on the zip bag co-op but not sure what size of bag to get to hold 8 ounces of milk bath. Any suggestions? Thank you.
  7. Has anyone purchased the $1.50 shaving brushes from Cotton Blossom? If so, are they half way descent to use? Is there another place that sells shaving brushes at a good price? Thank you.
  8. You stated KY 125 the new improved version. I could be wrong, but I don't think the new version is KY 125 it is the Perfect Blend. Also, you cannot go wrong with the customer service at KY. Vickey is really great to work with. I will have to agree with what you heard about Bluegrass being slow at times. But it is been a while since I ordered so don't know how they are now. I have never purchased from Tennessee Candle so can't say one way or another about them. Maybe purchase a sample from both KY and Bluegrass since they are closer to you and see which you like the best. Good luck.
  9. I have never gone to it but have read that it is really a good one to go to.
  10. Lulusassy, Just an FYI. If you order the perfect blend wax from KY and are wanting to try the new one they are stilling selling the old until they are out of it right along with the new perfect blend so make sure you click on the one you want.
  11. Here is the link to search for suppliers by state: http://www.candleandsoapstuff.com/Suppliers_by_State.html
  12. I read where you can keep milk powder in the freezer. Then after reading that I was told that when keeping it in the fridge or freezer that it should be kept in an airtight container to protect it from oxidation and moisture. I have had mine in the freezer for about 4 weeks. Do you think it has gone bad in that time period? How can you tell if it has gone bad? Also, when it has been in the freezer and you want to use it in milk bath, can you use right out of the freezer immediately or should you let it get to room tempature before mixing? Thank you.
  13. I found this site where you can order smaller quantites of First & Main bears. It has $150 minimum but you can pay extra if you purchase less. The web address is: http://www.giftbaskets101.com/Mothers_Day_Teddy_bears.htm If you have purchased from this site, how was customer service and how fast did they ship? Thank you.
  14. Do you find that using a store brand instead of name brand makes a difference in milk baths? I went to Kroger today and all they had was their brand. I bought it because I wouldn't think it would make a difference but not sure.
  15. I thought I had some bags at home to package samples of bath salts and milk bath in but can't find them. I remember reading about Walmart having some type of small plastic bags but can't remember which ones they are, crafts section or party section. Can someone tell me which bags to buy from Walmart to put bath salts/milk bath in? Thanks. Edited: I finally found a post on here that says you should not use the bags from Walmart. I was wanting to work on the milk bath and salts this weekend and bag up. Guess I will have to wait and order some bags.
  16. Has anyone used any of the Soapers Workshop lip balm base? If so, which one and how do you like it? Thank you.
  17. Not sure if you did a search on here for wooden rose or wood rose. Here are some links to some pictures: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43702&highlight=wood+rose http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42983&highlight=wood+rose http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42778&highlight=wood+rose http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42776&highlight=wood+rose http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42731&highlight=wood+rose
  18. Has anyone tried Bay Rum or Elements of Bamboo from MMS in shaving soap. I have never smelled Elements of Bamboo. Is it a nice scent for men? If you have tried both of these FO's, which do you like the best? Thank you.
  19. Does anyone know if the sodium laural sulfoacetate that Majestic Mountain Sage sales is the same as SLSa? I sent an e-mail 3 or 4 days ago and no response and I just called them and got voicemail and it didn't sound like I could leave a message. What I want it for is to make my bath salts bubbly. From the description it sounds like it is what I want. Thank you.
  20. I received my milk powders today from the co-op. If I am not going to use them for 2-3 weeks, is it okay to leave them out or should they be stored in the fridge? Also, what is the shelve life for milk powders? I have buttermilk, honey and whole. Thank you.
  21. Everyone, thank you for the information. When I called I asked if they sold bulk dead sea salt and was told yes and it was .19 per pound and that they had fine and course. I went to the store to look at it. It is not sold in bulk, packaged in pound bags, only fine and it said sea salt not dead sea salt. I was given wrong information over the telephone.
  22. I found a local health food store where I can buy bulk course dead seal salt for.19 cents per pound. I did a search on their website and found the brands they carry which are La Baleine and Frontier. When I did a Google on these brand names it looks like they are for cooking with. Here shows my stupidity regarding sea salts. Are there sea salts for cooking and a different kind used in bath salts or are they all the same?
