  1. Just wondering what size of salt you use in Carmen’s Silky Suds recipe. Would you use fine (0-2 MM) or coarse (2-4 MM)? Also, does citric acid go bad? I have a container that is approx. one year old but has never been opened. Do you think it is still okay to use? Thank you.
  2. I purchased some hand soap from Krogers and it is scented Black Currant & Plum and would love to find the FO so I could make my own B&B. Anyone know of a supplier that sells this FO? Thank you.
  3. Here is the description of Winter Candy Apple: "A light fruity blend of pineapples, oranges, red apples, lemons and limes with mild floral hints of jasmine, rose, violet and lily of the valley". think I will have to order it.
  4. I read a previous post about them being slow but nothing about them closing down. Their website says it is down for maintenance and I just looked their telephone number up on-line and it is no longer in business. Oh well. I was wanting to compare prices. Guess I'll keep looking
  5. There is a florist in town that is going to be renting a few spaces out in their shop to people that sells items that can be purchased for gifts. The spaces are 6x8 for $50 a month. I asked them if they have a lot of foot traffic in their shop and of course she told me yes. What else would she say? They are just now starting to rent space out so I asked if anyone else has inquired that makes candles and she said no. They are located on a busy street and from what I understand they are in a little strip center. I am going to go and check it out today. Has anyone ever rented space in a florist before and if so, how well did you do?
  6. I am going to order a 50 pound box of dead sea salt and cannot make my mind up on the size so I will take a poll.
  7. Gemstones, swirls, and chunks without falling apart.
  8. I, I, I, I, I, oh heck I think you know what I'm trying to say. Pleaseeeeeeeee.......
  9. I have a couple of wooden Christmas trees at home silimar to the one in the picture below which need to be painted and lights added. If anyone on here has decorted this type of tree before, should I use a staple gun or glue the light string to the back? Sorry for the large picture but I can't get it any smaller. Thank you.
  10. I was looking around at the things they had for sale and they had this "Clip Scent" shaped like a star made out of plastic and also has a magnetic on the back. Inside was what looks like aroma beads. Of course I had to purchase one to try it out. I haven't put it in the car yet, but if it works well and last very long, wish I knew where to purchase the empty ones to make my own air fresheners. I went to their website and they have different shapes like a house, car, and a couple of others. Here is what it looks like:
  11. Thank you both. I just got home from work (9:44 PM) off to the basement to put my first coat on.
  12. Is there a fast way to dry the air freshener blanks? I am going to a family reunion this Saturday and a cousin just sent me an e-mail asking if I could bring some car air fresheners hyang tags. Of course I don't have any made. Do you think the scent would be okay if I made them up and laid on a piece of wax paper or foil on top a piece of cardboard and put them in my car where it gets hot?
  13. Someone posted that they purchase plastic pitchers to use as pouring pots at one of the dollar stores. I did a search but can't find it. I would like to find out which dollar store it was and do they have the number “5” on the bottom. Thank you.
  14. Have you tried washing your hair with shampoo yet? I know when the dye does not come off of my hands from washing with soap and water, if I was my hair it takes the rest of the dye off of my hands.
  15. I have read where people use FCO in body spray. I did a search but all I'm finding are the initials FCO. Is this short for a longer name and where can you buy it? I also read where you can use sweet almond oil which I have. What is the difference between the two in body spray and does one work better then the other? Thank you.
  16. I agree with everyone else. It is hard to narrow it to one supplier. I purchase the majority from KY Candle Supply. The rest come from either Bitter Creek South or Bluegrass Candle Supply.
  17. When pouring in terra cotta pots, should you coat them with something first? I'm thinking I read someplace that they could catch on fire. Thank you.
  18. Not sure where you're located, but since you purchased your wax from a supplier in Kentucky here are three suppliers in Kentucky that has 415: http://kycandlewaxsupply.com/wax.htm http://www.soycandle.com/index.php?cPath=453_466_470 http://alabastercandlesupply.com/soycandlecontainerwax.php
  19. I currently use KY125 and am almost out. I can pick-up the 435 and wanted to see if anyone knows if the two are the same. Thank you.
  20. I am out of wick stickums and going to the hardware store to buy the GE Silicone. I did a search on here and a few people talked about liking the silicone but not how long it takes to set-up. Curious on how long it takes for it to set up before you can pour soy wax. Thank you.
  21. If you have tried both Mill Creek's soy lotion base and BCN's hand and body lotion base, which do you prefer? I am going to order samples of both but wanted to see what others thought.
  22. I looked at the website where you can search for a scent but nothing there. Thought maybe there could be one but missed being put on the website. I also know there is a candle supplier that makes dupes but for the life of me cannot think who it is. Any suggestions? Thank you.
  23. If you are still having problems with the sulphur/egg smell, why don't you e-mail Vicky at KY and see what she says. Maybe she can help you out. Good luck.
  24. I read a post on here where the person said they buy their sea salt from the Amish at a good deal. I have never made bath salts and don't know anything about the types of salt. My question is what kind of salt is it that the Amish sell? I will be going up to Ohio soon and pass two Amish stores. I called one of them and they said it just says sea salt. I assume this is the type to cook with since they sell all kinds of bulk food products. What is the difference in using the sea salt the Amish sell verses dead sea salt in bath salts? Which is better to use. I have to call ahead and place my order for a 50 pound box of sea salt at the Amish store but if it is not the right kind to use, it is not a great deal at $23.95 for a 50 pound box if it is the wrong kind and I can't use it it bath salts.
  25. I do not use this wax or jars so I cannot help you there. What I would do first is search on this board then if you don't find your answer contact your supplier of the wax and ask them what type of wick and size they would suggest. I have never been able to wick a container that is 3" or wider with one wick. Good luck.
