  1. I did a search on wholesale 3" candle follower and came up with a couple sites. You may have already seen them: http://www.discountcandleshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/2342 it says: $8.12 each or $7.71 with $75.00 purchase or $6.90 with $300.00 purchase These people must be distributors for several different companies. One of them is Brass by Colonial Trust and it has candle followers listed. Here is the link to the distributor. Looks like you have to call them: http://www.michigangiftmart.com/vendor_info.cqs?menuparam=vendid&vendid=95b6b1eb0b5bd83906af44620f77c681 Good luck on your search.
  2. If you use the 8 oz. Powell jar do you mind sharing what size of label you use? I was thinking maybe the 1 x 2.625. Is there another size that would be better to use? Thank you.
  3. I purchased some already made bath salts and they do not bubble. The ingredients list is: sea salt, vegetable glycerin, cosmetic grade/manufacturers fragrance oil, FD&C approved colorant, and vitamin E. Is it okay to add either citric acid and/or Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa) to the already made salts? I have never used either of these. If it is okay to use them, do I need both for the bubbles or just one? I read to use 1-3 percent of the SLSa, but could not find how much of the citric acid per pound of salts? Thank you.
  4. I put my ribbon thru the hole, lay it on foil, use the disposable droppers and put my first coat of FO and let them dry. I go back and put a second coat of FO and then after about 10 minutes of drying I hang them one of those plastic clothes hangers (I can get 3 on a hanger) in my basement in case I put too much FO as it dries the excess drips off from the bottom. Our basement has a rough looking concrete floor so I don't worry about any spots of FO.
  5. I have some powell jars that I'm going to use for either bath salts or milk bath. Has anyone used the press and seal liners like WSP sells? If so, do they stick good with salts and milk bath? Thank you. Edited to ask if anyone knows of another supplier who sells the liners. Shipping from WSP is higher then the cost of the liners.
  6. I have never smelled either. Which do you prefer for bath and body products, Pink or Pink Sugar.
  7. I live in KY and just maped soycandle.com and kycandlesupply.com. Soycandle.com is approx. 166 miles from Ft. Campbell and KY is approx. 230. Good luck with your move and an early welcome to KY.
  8. I am looking at items on ebay "Bare Naked Soap" http://stores.ebay.com/Bare-Naked-Soap Has anyone purchased from this site and if so, what are your thoughts? Thank you.
  9. I agree with the others. Buy a kit. For another $12.00 plus shipping you can get one from Peaks http://www.peakcandle.com/products/Scented-Pillar-Starter-Kit__K1002.aspx and looks like you get enough wax and oil to make 7 candles then you will still have your equipment and just need to order more wax, oil and wicks. The product from a candle supplier will be much better then what you would get from the item you are talking about. Good luck.
  10. Here is a link for suppliers by state that you can check out to see if anyone close to you has kits. Good luck.
  11. If you are making arrangements in vases are you putting anything in the bottom of the vase like glass marbles (rocks), or maybe that green mossy stuff? Not sure of the technical name for it.
  12. Those of you who have tried both KY's Clothesline Fresh and Summer Breeze, which do you like the best?
  13. I have to agree with you. Two cups does not look like much for that price. I have tried selling it twice with no luck. Don't know if people think the same as I do that two cups does not look like much for the money or if people around here doesn't care that much for potpourri. Think I'm going to give it up on it.
  14. I am looking 10 ml dropper bottles and a supplier that you do not have to buy a ton of them. I found them on eBay. 10 cobalt glass w/euro droper 10ml for $4.99 with shipping of $4.80. That make the bottles .98 cents each. Is this a good price? I have never purchased them before. Thank you.
  15. I did a search for “straw” on Oriental Tradings website. They have some in bright colors and I think they were $19.95 for a dozen. Here is the link: http://www.orientaltrading.com/application?namespace=search&No=32&D=straw&Ntt=straw&Ntk=all&Dx=mode%2bmatchallpartial&Ntx=mode%2bmatchallpartial&event=button.search&y=13&N=0&origin=searchMain.jsp&x=17
  16. Janet they look really nice. Did you scent the rose? Also, on the vase is it pink or did you put something in it to make it pink? Just curious. Now I'm wishing that I got in on the co-op. Nice job.
  17. I really like the look of them. Very nice.
  18. There is a group called Knifty Knitter Looms on Yahoogroups.com. You will have to sign up. They have all kinds of info on there and if you can't find a pattern just ask them. Hope this helps.
  19. Here is the link from the Soap Makers Guild. It says it covers soaps, all cosmetic items (as defined by the FDA) and candles: http://www.soapguild.org/insurance.php Sounds pretty reasonable. Good luck. I just noticed that it says you have to make soap to be able to purchase this insurance. Here is what it says: What if I only make candles or cosmetics and not soap? Well, this IS the Handcrafted SOAP Makers Guild. To qualify for membership you must make and sell handcrafted soap. It doesn't have to be any particular percentage of your total revenue, just so long as it is somewhere in your product line. Remember, however, that the other benefits of HSMG membership are geared towards soap making. If you don't make soap and don't want to add it to your product line, you could check the Handmade Beauty Network which also offers the insurance but has different membership criteria and benefits that might better suit you.
  20. I have never purchased from them but have read where they are slow. You may want to call them.
  21. Some of the suppliers have their own message boards.
  22. I thought I read on here where to purchase clamshells for votives but I just did a search and didn't see anything. I see that Alabaster has the two pack but wanted to compare prices. Does anyone know who has them? Thanks.
  23. I don't use that wax but I think I remember reading on KY's message board that zinc works best. Go do a search on KY's board. Good luck.
  24. Jane, I live in the city where Bargain Supply is located. Unfortunately you probably will not be able to find out any info on the warmers if it is not posted on their site. Hopefully I'm wrong. I called their wholesale to see if I could go and purchase one for you and they said no but their retail store which you have to go to sells them. I called the retail part of their business and was told that they do not have the warmers in the retail store. Before I started making candles I purchased wholesale from them and it seems like there is either a $100 or $150 minimum. Sorry I could not help out on the candle warmer.
