  1. I would have to agree with Bugtussle, no. I could never smell the fragrance unless I was standing right by the bottle. All I can say is you should try one to form your own opinion.
  2. I use soy and read where you should not put a spigot on trhe Presto Pot because soy does not flow out of it very well so I did not put one on. I find it very easy to pour right out of the presto pot.
  3. Have you looked at the tutorial section on the main page of this website? There are several styles listed there. Good luck.
  4. I remember seeing a chart on a suppliers website that tells you how much FO to use by ounces, drops, etc for bath and body and has it for example 8 ounce, 4 ounce product. Does anyone know what supplier this would be? Thank you. Wanted to add that it is not the chart on Majestic Mountain Sage because the chart I'm looking for tells you how many drops you can add.
  5. I have read a couple post but don't remember what board that charcoal are the best. The only place that I could find that sells charcoal is Bitter Creek North. I have not tried them yet.
  6. Those of you that use the 8 oz. square mason jar with the black lid, do you use a label on the lid or a hang tag? I am adding this jar to my line and cannot decide if I want to use a label or hang tag. I'm think the label would not look very good. I would love to see a picture of the jar with black lid using a label and the hang tag. If you want, you can PM me a picture. Thank you.
  7. Look at Kentucky Candle Supply website. They tell if their oils work good in soy. I use soy and KY's oils work very well for me.
  8. All I have seen are gold lids. Maybe contact a couple of suppliers to see if they can contact their supplier to find out if they can special order black lids. Good luck.
  9. I was at candle gathering a couple of years ago and the husband of one of the suppliers who had a display set-up had a candle buring and was telling people it was made of soy and that you could dip your finger in it and rub on your hands and then would try to ger people to dip a finger in the candle that was burning. I thought DUH. First there is fire and there is no way I'm going to dip my finger in it, second, it has FO in it and I'm for sure not going to use it like hand lotion. Law suit waiting to happen.
  10. When I used a hard to break wax, I put it in either garbage bag or old pillow case and took it outside. Laid it on a step letting part of it hang off of the step and took a hammer and gave it a good wack. Kept doing that until it was broken up.
  11. Has anyone tried the votive gift set box from Bitter Creek North that holds a flower pot and 7 refills? If so, how did you like it? Curious how well they would sell. Thank you.
  12. Yes, I have to agree. Vickey is top notch in her oils and customer service. I have not tried one oil that I have not liked.
  13. Great job. I have yet to try making a pillar. I have all of my supplies and they have been sitting here for over a year. You have inspired me. I will get the supplies out this weekend and try my first pillar.
  14. I read that the Chicago Soap and Candle Makers Conference was a good one to attend. Are they having it this year?
  15. I have a coffee mug that I am testing with KY 125 (soy w/cottonseed) with Pink Sugar at 1.4 oz. per pound wax. Someone told me that they single wick using a HTP 104 with the same wax. I didn't get a full melt pool. Someone else said try a 62 cotton. Gets full melt pool in less than one hour and after 3 hours burning the depth of the melt pool is approx. 1/4" depth and the scent throw is not strong. Since this mug is 2 7/8" wide, right at 3" should I double wick? Any suggestions?
  16. I am getting ready to purchase the tablet maker and can get the pre-cut foil wraps local in the 4x4 and 6x6 size. I can also get the foil sheets and cut myself but not as many colors available in the sheets. I see that several places on-line sell the 5x5 size. My question is if you make a 2 or even 3 ounce tablet, what size of foil wrap would you need? Thank you.
  17. I asked her some time back where she purchased them from and she didn't want to share because she said she had plans to start selling them but she hasn't yet. Thanks.
  18. I saw a picture of a gift basket made with a shallow kind of square basket. Does anyone know where you can purchase the shallow square basket? Thank you.
  19. Before I ordered my full size lotion base from Soapers Workshop I ordered samples which came in a clear round jar with a white lid and the lid is smooth. I would like to purchase this same style of jar in 4 ounce and maybe 2 ounce size. I did a search and all I can come up with is the jar with the ribbed lid. Does anyone know who sells the clear jar with the smooth white lid? The size of the jar is approx. 1 7/8 at the opening and same in height. Thank you.
  20. I have some of the red wire heart shape baskets from I think last years co-op. I have read that when making gift baskets that you should put shread or something in the bottom of baskets to raise your product up. Those of you that have used these wire baskets before, did you put anything in the bottom and if so, what. How did you make it look nice so that you didn't see a bunch of shread or paper? Hope I am making sense with my question. Thanks.
  21. Unless I am looking at it wrong, you can order a minimum of 50. Here is what it says on the opeing page: Create Your Own Package! 50 Unscented Die Cut Shaped Car Air Fresheners for only 29.00 - plus 3.85 for shipping. You can order ten of each shape below for a total of 50 shapes. Let me tell you how this works, see with this package, you can order ten different shapes......... OR 30 of one shape and 20 of another. OR 10 of one shape and 40 of another. OR do a 25 of one and 25 of another. See how this works. You have a little more flexability for the shapes you desire. Your order doesn't have to be all the same shape. We just won't make any less then 10 of a shape.
  22. I purchased some 2x12 ziplock bags and then found out that they are polyethylene. Will it be okay to make these up ahead of time and store in these bags. I purchased the bags from the same company I got the sticks from. You would think they would be okay if this company sells them for the sticks they sell. I have always read to use polypro bags. Any suggestions if they will be okay to use or not?
  23. I got in on the co-op for the coffee warmer that ended yesterday. Do you mind sharing what size of bag you used to wrap the warmer and clamshell in so that I can order some before I get my warmers? Thank you.
