  1. I list ingredients. And I don't buy from places that don't.
  2. I had a soap that looked just like that due to the honey and I thought I was going to have to call it bits of honey instead of OMH but as it cured the spots went away or the soap darkened and the liquid absorbed enough that they could not be seen. Give it time.
  3. I bought some and they do really well in a HP3600 laser printer. They are gorgeous when printed. Made my little bottle of body wash look extravagent.
  4. I have been experimenting with my fresh goat milk for over a year and have used goat milk as high as 50% in my experiments. They are holding up so far and some are over a year old. I have read a lot about only using 10% but I like to try new things. I do use two preservatives. When I reach the perfect lotion formula using a high amount of goat milk, I will be ready to lab test for pathogens. Right now I am testing for separation, color issues, texture etc. I am getting closer to the perfect formula using 40% fresh goat milk.
  5. I buy shrink wrap in a roll and shrink wrap my CP soap and leave an opening on the ends for the soap to breathe and the clients to sniff. I know nothing about M&P. Sorry.
  6. My monthly market was canceled due to the weather. They called on Thursday since we are located on the major hurricane evacuation routes. I sure needed that income this month so I was sad. Need to buy supplies/.
  7. I use foamers which means the soap has to be real diluted. Not sure about the pumps although I have a few here for use at home. I did not dilute as much as for the foamers but it was thinner than the commercial soap but worked fine.
  8. Personally I prefer CP although I have tried HP. I am just not an admirer of the look. Besides I make GM soap and HP'ed GM soap (for me anyway) is real dark.
  9. Plus I have been using mine for a year and they are still in good shape and at $25.00 for 4 or 5, they can't be beat plus they don't weigh much.
  10. I agree with kandlekrazy. I looked at both and even put them side by side and I don't see the "look alike" Of course, I am not the most observant person but probably I am about average. I see a lot of similar page setups and never even think about it. Templates are templates.
  11. I pour the heated distilled water over my paste in a five gallon bucket, wrap the bucket up and let it sit for a few days. Usually when I open it up everything is dissolved and looks great. Quick and easy for me. But then maybe I am just lazy.
  12. I use Cottonseed oil but I get it from the feed store and it is not organic. It is sold for frying. No problems with it. I would imagine that organic would be super expensive since growing cotton is one of the most pesticide dependent crops I have ever witnessed being grown.
  13. I think I read where someone else thought this and then received a separate bill for shipping. Hope I am wrong.
  14. I use butcher/freezer paper and I can use the same lining until it literally falls apart which is at least a dozen batches.
  15. I have reached the point where they stay on the curing racks until I package and take to a show or my monthly market. In the beginning I tried to store in the individual plastic type shoeboxes with holes drilled in them. Too much trouble going through all of those to get what I needed. For taking to shows I use the rigid plastic red coca cola trays that I got when I purchased some bottled drinks from a school fund raiser. They stack and are perfect for me. I am fortunate to have two of the large metal shelf units on wheels with mylar looking shelf liners from Sams at less than $80 each. They hold a bunch of soap and soap supplies.
  16. Just curious since I do not quite understand. Why are your hands cracked after soaping?
  17. If I go to buy chlorine I don't think I would be interested in candles. Just the way I am. Candles would seem so out of place in a pool store in my opinion. But what do I know. You can always try it and see.
  18. I sell lotion in 2,4 and 8 oz malibus. I was thinking about trying to eliminate one size but after reviewing my sales data I sell pretty much equally among the sizes. Surprised me. Then I make a Vegan lotion in a 6 oz size only so I can have a clear distinction between the goat milk lotion and the vegan one. Not much help here but that is the way my sales have panned out. So I will keep making 3 sizes.
  19. Sorry your show did not go well. I did not have a show this weekend and I am glad I didn't. It was COLD and too windy to be setting up a canopy. Better luck on your next outing.
  20. Well, I make soap with fresh handmilked goat milk too and I am going up to $5.00 starting this weekend. My bars are over 5 oz. Was selling for $4.50 each or 3 for $12.00. Plus alfalfa is $12.00 a bale now.
  21. I don't recall my cream soap going back to liquid. Quite the opposite. Here is a link to the cream soap group. they can help. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/CreamSoap/
