  1. I have not found that to be true of the emu oil from Land of Milk and Honey. I have bought from several sources in various quantities and it is comparable. Did you have it tested?
  2. I don't do candles but I make and sell bar soap, liquid soap, and various lotions all year. In the fall I add solid perfumes, whipped shea butter, lipbalm, facial soaps, children's glycerin soaps, talc free body powder etc. I need to cut down on the number of different soap scents I carry due to people getting overwhelmed with too many to choose from.
  3. No. It is pretty high in my opinion. www.landofmilkhoney.net I have also purchased from Simon's co=ops at a higher price than land of milk and honey but way less than your source.. His oil is processed in Oklahoma but I can't remember the site at this time. I have had good luck with the land of milk and honey emu oil. I buy about 3 gallons a year and keep refrigerated.
  4. I guess I bought a dud EZ up since it has always been a hassle to put up. Even with two people it is not EZ. Other canopy owners that help me put it up at my monthly market told me to throw it in the trash and get another one.
  5. I have an EZ up and it has always been hard to put up. I can do it by myself but it is NOT easy. There is usually someone at each show that helps me. I bought a First Up from Wal-Mart as a backup and used it at my last outdoor show. All I can say is WOW. That was the easiest thing to put up. Not near as sturdy as the EZ up but who cares at this point. I wasn';t worn out from struggling to get the canopy up before the show even started.
  6. I am not familiar with it. My shopping cart comes with my hosting since the host developed my website and the whole thing is $150 a year so I was thinking that was a little high. But then I have nothing to compare it to.
  7. I have used several of her scents in CP. Lavender and I can't remember the others and all of that information is in my soap kitchen which I cannot get to due to being on crutches so I can't help any further. Lavender worked well though.
  8. Nothing to add but a thought. I wish I had only spent almost $50 on things from the classifieds. I have spend over $400 in January from the classifieds. Luckily everything has been great. My best selling lotion is scented with a FO that I thought smelled awful OOB. Even fresh in lotion is wasn't too great. After a week, that lotion smelled divine and I can't keep enough made. OOB can be misleading for sure. And I like old lady perfume scents.
  9. I find the really dark green contrast border a little distracting. Maybe a lighter color? Also I think you are selling lipbalm way too cheap. I sell mine for $3.00 and no one ever complains and I sell a lot at shows. DOn't sell yourself short. I missed the shopping cart. I think people shopping online expect a shopping cart rather than sending an order by email. At least I do. Good start. I like the greens. My website is also done in greens. I am not a fan of free websites with all of the ads but then that is just my preference.
  10. I bought my first ones several years ago off ebay. Cheap, in my opinion. Have worked great and they will last forever. Now I have bought some silcon lined wooden mols but those aren't cheap.
  11. This is what I did. I searched CP soap coloring everywhere I could and read and read and compared and tried a couple of different liquid colorants. Also tried clays and then micas. I do not think that I can tell you what to use and how much. That is something that you will have to research and experiment with. And yes it costs money to experiment but that is part of the learning process. Have fun. I love the experimenting part of creating soap.
  12. Are you just starting? In my opinion it would be hard to be a newcomer and jump into wholesale without any kind of customer following. An information only website is useful if you have local customers that need a place to see what you have and then pick up or you deliver. I am guessing you are only doing candles by your post and I only do B&B but I do retail at shows and have a booth in a craft mall. Otherwise, I have no suggestions.
  13. I advertise a flat rate shipping of $3.95 up front. Then I add from $.50 to $1.00 on every item on my website to cover the difference in shipping and handling. Have never had anyone complain about the differences. Actually have never had anyone mention it. All of my prices are even numbers which for local shows includes the tax. The tax is added in on my website at checkout.
  14. I have used it for several years in lotions.
  15. I use both. I have a small line of EO soaps and I use lavender EO in a lotion and a whippe shea butter. I use EO's for Mint, Patchouli, Patchouli Mint, Pink Grapefruit, rose geranium, and an herbal blend. The rest are FO's. I have customers that like them all so I try to have something for most.
  16. The organization no longer exists. It was disbanded due to finances. There is a yahoo group now
  17. Our local Ace Harware and Tractor Supply still carry lye in the plumbing section. I keep up with who is still selling in case I run out and need some quick.
  18. I only do shows and online and I make goat milk products shows - goat milk lotion, GM bar soap, GM liquid soap (in winter whpped shea is up there too) online - it is usually repeat customers so it is varied
  19. I buy from other soapers but I do it in person at shows. Not so much anymore since I believe joining a good swap gives me the same information and new product to try.
  20. I think the sale prices are only good if you order a minumum of $75 if I remember what my email said.
  21. I am rural so I use USPS for the convenience. I can pack in their box, weigh and print out postage and put the box in my rural mailbox and I am finished. I use the USPS priority boxes for small shipments or the flat rate boxes.
  22. I am currently on crutches and have been for 3 weeks. My DH had to help me with the online orders and it was a real hassle. I am equating this with not being able to lift a packed box for shipping with not being able to lift 5 pounds. It would be real hard to do in my opinion. I was getting frustrated and he was getting annoyed. I have been doing this awhile so my online orders are repeat customers that order larger amounts at a time. Now I only sell soaps, lotions and scrubs. No candles.
  23. Probably only at super Wal-Marts. Our local small WM does not carry it but our local Brookshire Brothers has started carrying it. I use it to cook with. I buy coconut oil from COlumbus Fods to soap with.
  24. I ordered some basic fragrances that I usually get elsewhere for much more $ just to compare. Mr. Missy's are just as good and 1/4 the price. If I can't get them again from him I will just revert back to the higher priced but not necessarily better oils. I understood that he bought closeouts and I might not be able to reorder but I bought quantity at $3.50 a pound so I am pretty much set for the year. Bought then tested in soap and lotion and they worked great so I ordered quantity and got all I reqested. I guess deifferent things work for different people.:smiley2: But it worked for me.
