  1. Thanks Kim for the reply. Hope you do get a chance for some rest this weekend. Eve
  2. Just wondering... I got a bad oil (Mad Van Orchid) from FOH and have been trying to contact for a while now. I sent numerous emails thru her website as well as pm thru here. I've also called and left a message on machine. I have not heard back?...and it's been days? While I'm sure that kimmy will replace oil (I've spent hundereds and hundereds of dollars at FOH)- I'm really more concerened if she's ok. I'm wondering is FOH still open (I know she was pregnant). Any info would be greatly appreciated Eve PS- Kimmy if you are reading this, I sure hope you're ok. Please don't be mad that I posted. I know last time you were mad at me for posting. You thought that I posted before emailing you. Please know last time, just like this time, I sent two emails and called. I truly hope that all is well. I know that I said that I wanted to know about the oil, but of course, my first concern is you.
  3. I thought that this would make a good topic. At first I didn't like CS Moon Lake Musk or CS Antique Sandalwood. Now I absolutely love them. I am going to order in large size bottle. Was wondering if this happens to anyone else? Eve
  4. WSP Mango Sorbetto Nantucket Briar Pink Grapefruit Vanilla Romance AH/RE Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Hot Apple Pie (CM) Interlude Cashmere & Lace Tony's Jo Malone Red Currant Oakmoss FOH Pear & Ginseng Autumn Harvest CC Cookie Tuscan Herb FBD Pink Sugar Tranquil Sleep CS Banana Nut Bread Hansel & Gretel Lavender Honeysuckle Jasmine Frank & Mhyrr So Many others throw well, too. But these fill a room very quickly. Which is what I think you were asking Eve
  5. I'm burning FOH Autumn Harvest......I don't usually go for the fall type scents but I really like this one. I decided to pour myself a bunch of different tarts this weekend (fall scents....my daughter loves them and some others for myself) FOH's Spiced Cranberry, Mistletoe Kiss, Pear&Ginseng and Lavender Martini, AH's Celtic Moonspice, Interlude, Chocolate Brownie and Hot Apple Pie, and CS's Lavender, Yellow Rose, Honeysuckle Jasmine and Cucumber Melon. Eve
  6. I just got my 2 oz sample with my last order. Wow, it smells amazing oob. It reminds me of Lime Basil Mandarin...yet different somehow...stronger, maybe....I don't know....but it's that type of smell. I looked at the sight to see ingredients....maybe it's a lavender basil mandarin I would call it a clean masculine scent. I would be afraid to order anything that smelled like vodka...but I dont smell booze at all. I will make tarts at 10%, igi 4786, and post results soon. Eve
  7. Asian Spice..........didn't like it Family Gatherings....didn't try it Berry Christmas........didnt try Autumn Harvest....AMAZING!!! Willow Whispers.......didnt tryi it Grannys Kicken Pecan Pie........didnt try it When I first got Autumn Harvest.....I thought it was very similar to apple cobbler. but now, I say it is not too apple.......some apple but definitely not cobbler like at all. Cobbler is sweet...Autumn harvest is spice. It is phenomenal. Makes you think fall.......cold outside....have some cider....light the fireplace. I love it....just ordered a big bottle. I will say that every single oil that I got from FOH was super stong/threw amazing. So it's just a matter of preference. My faves from FOH are Eucalyptus Spearmint, Bamboo, Jap Pear & Ginseng....I just ordered them in big bottles, too. But I think that I have about 20 FOH oils in big (16 oz) bottles but the three I just mentioned I have gone thru a few big bottles. hth Eve
  8. All of the oils that I got from FBD were true/perfect dupes. I used them for b/b and candles. They included Nect Honey Blossom, Lime Basil, Angel, Amazing Grace, Pink Sugar, Tranquil Sleep, Black Vetiver Cafe and D&G Light Blue. They all made fantastic lotions. They all made phenomenal candles and tarts (except D&G; this is better in b/b). She's a sweet lady to deal with, goes the extra mile. Eve
  9. I have this oil .....FOH's one called Snowdrift berries. It is strong thrower and I love the scent. I wouldn't call this scent only for holidays.....it can be used all year. It reminds me of a scent I smelled (incense?) when I was younger but I haven't been able to recall what it was. So there is pine and berry, but neither is more pronounced than the other. hth Eve
  10. Well, in regards to the Spice Cranberry....oob you will smell spice, but once I put it in wax, I could smell the fruit. In regards to the crystal sunshine....I thought that it was grapefruit/citrus...not honeysuckle?? Eve
  11. thanks for all the great tips/advice...i am feeling better already....i'm itchy as heck...which is a good sign...I am looking longingly at my fragrance oils....soon. I've got a few candles burning right now.... AH Interlude in the bedroom FOH Autumn Harvest in the livingroom both are soothing the savage beast Eve
  12. The FOH CC Cookie is extremely strong. Granted I poured at 10% in igi 4627 ...but a 6 oz candle does my whole house...in about 5 minutes. Smells like cookies baking in the oven....but stronger eve
  13. I love the Votivo candle in scent red currant. The oils that I have found that remind me of this candle are Sweetcakes and Tony's. I have bought and used both....both are awesome dupes and great throwers. I will purchase tony's bec, it is $27/lb, while sweetcakes was $34 eve
  14. I use 4786. this is a container wax but it is hard....it holds 10% fo. My tarts come out feeling silky (as opposed to dry) hth eve
  15. I've used Fragrance by Design. I do not know the original, but a friend told me it is dead on. Eve
  16. I don't know soy but it throws amazing in 4627...used 10%, lsz wick, 6 oz jar did whole first floor. OOB it smells more spicy than fruity....but in wax I smell the cranberry much more. I'm not into the fall type fragrances but my daughter who loves, apple, harvest, spice, etc really likes this smell. hth Eve
  17. I just had surgery.......gallbladder removed.....and now I can't make candles. I can't lift the big block of wax:sad2: I'm going stir crazy. I am even a bit wary of lifting a 10 lb slab........so no tarts either. I'll tell you-it really relaxes me when I'm in pouring. This is such a bummer. Eve
  18. I love this one, too. Amazing throw in igi 4627, 10% fo, eco 8 in 6 oz salsa jar did an entire downstairs of my house (open floor plan) Eve
  19. DCroome, I actually didn't get it fixed:sad2: I called supplier upon reciept to voice my disappointment...she told me the thing about the heat changing the color of the oil. She said that she doesn't notice a glue smell. She said that there was nothing that she could do about it. Although, I know that I shouldn't, I placed a little oil on my skin and it seemed to smell ok. I told her that I would make a candle and let her know. As I said, the candle was a shade darker (not pure white) and I did notice the smell of glue (also, I had a candle from the first batch for comparison). I emailed her to tell her about the candle having a different color and glue smell. To date she has not responded...which is highly unusual, as she normally responds to emails super fast. Isn't it fair that I should expect to be notified of the oil's changing color? regardless of wether or not she notes a change in the smell? As a customer, Isn't it my choice as to wether or not I purchase the oil, if it is differnt than it normally is? This is my first experience with this happening. Does this happen often, that the same oil, from the same supplier will be different from time to time? Do they normally inform customers of this before purchase? I would love to know. This is such a bummer because the oil smelled so great the first time and the supplier has been so awesome (in all previous trnxns). Eve
  20. Does the light blue from soapsilly throw in candles? or only good for bath and body? Eve
  21. I have bought this oil twice from same supplier. First time it was clear and smelled heavenly. Second time it was brown and had a glue scent. The supplier told me, that her supplier told her, that the oil changed color due to the heat. It was disappointing that the second batch of oil made a vanilla candle that wasn't pure white (first time it was pure white).....but I think that I could have lived with that if it were'nt for the glue smell. Has anyone ever encountered this glue smell? Is the oil bad? Eve
  22. Don't know about soy....but, FOH Tuscan Herb and Spices of the Orient as well as, CS Asian Amber are all very "herby" and pleasant, imo....extremely strong in paraffin. hth Eve
  23. Well, I ordered Just peachy from AH/RE and I will say that it was an awesome smelling peach (no chemical aftersmell). It was lighter than some of the other scents but it did throw (wicked up). Still, I would probably use this oil for tarts rather than candles because I like a candle that knocks my socks off. But, I've been told some people like things a little more subtle. I'd still use it but, I'd reserve it for tarts....That's what I do when I love a scent.... Eve
  24. I used to buy Jo Malone candles. $65 for the small bedroom size and $345 for the large 2.5kg one I kept in the livingroom. Perhaps, I spent $600/year. So I thought, I'll make my own candles. Save alot of money. The Igi 4627 is similar to the j malone style wax. There are some damn good oils out there. Well, needless, to say....It's now $2500 later... Those Jo Malone's are looking pretty cheap, right about now. Eve
