  1. I only bought two oils from this supplier but, oh my gosh...they are out of this world awesome. Dead on dupes expensive ($88 for two 16 oz bottles delivered) but the originals are way more expensive if I did a cost analysis. Red Currant Votivo dead on dupe, great to wear, awesome in oil burner, still have to put in wax. Jo Malone Type Nectarine Honey blossom. Awesome in soap, lotion, roll on perfume and oil burner...still have to put in wax. Will let you know Eve
  2. Here's my review of the 8 scents I ordered and put in wax. They all threw very well in a combo igi 4267/4630 wax at 10% My favorite was Bamboo Sugar Cane. I ordered the large bottle. I loved it in wax, roll on perfume and lotion. I think it will make excellent soap, too. I was complimented on the scent when I wore it. A lady wanted to buy it from me, so I sold it to her. I also loved Indonesian Teak and Moonlight path and plan on ordering them in a large size (when I get a large amber glass bottles to store them in). I really enjoyed these scents in a candle...very relaxing...great throw. I also liked the Lemon Sugar, it reminded me of fresh squeezed sugary lemonade, the sensuous secrets in wax (but not oob). The red currant thyme was also an interesting candle...it smells like iced tea. The yuzu was not my favorite...i was expecting grapefruit but it reminded me of the orange scent of St Josephs baby asprin. The asian spice reminded me of the pink stuff you put on poison ivy...my friend said it reminded her of Zen Gum (which I am not familiar with). Nonetheless, they still had amazing throw. My top three were Bamboo Sugar Cane Indonesian Teak Moonlight Path In this order. Eve
  3. Well I got my samples too! OOB...oh my god...nice! I love them all I will let you know how they went into wax. Moon Lake- masculine musky scent Peach- peachy Mediteranean Fig- heady, musky Mimosa Mandarin-nice combo Cucumber Melon-clean Rain Water-clean Black currant and Nectarine- heady and fruity Creme Brulee- yum Hansel and Gretel sweet with cinnamon Honeysuckle Jasmine- pretty floral Fig Forrest fruity Frankinsence & Myrrh-reminded me of shalimar parfum-Awesome! Eve
  4. I burn fo in a warmer. I DO NOT add water. Once I did and I had a big splattering mess. I still have some remnants on my wall that I could not clean. What I have been doing lately is using the perfume roll on base which is also an oil, and I think it costs appx 50 cents an ounce (much cheaper than fo). Sometimes I do a 50/50 mix. If it is a real strong fo , than maybe a 25/75 mix. All in all, it is an expensive way to scent the house because you may use an ounce of fo and an ounce of base every couple of days. However, it is a great way to use certain scents that I love but don't have the greatest throw in wax. Eve
  5. I read on the igiwax.com website that 4627 can hold up to 12%, or 2 oz pp. I do not sell the candles so cost efficiency isnt really an issue for me. I don't really know what weeping is though. Eve
  6. I am new to the forum and candlemaking, in general. I thought, however, that I would post the oils I purchased from WSP, with my take on them, for those who might be interested. I used 2 oz in 1 lb of igi 4627 wax. I placed a * next to my faves They are, as follows: Grapefruit-Tart and sweet, very good throw *Vetyver- awesome, masculine, very good throw *Mango Sorbetto- excellent, dead on dupe to BBW, excellent throw Apple Cinnamon- nice, good throw Cinnamon Vanilla- very nice, good throw Harvest- close dupe to BBW, good throw Moonlight Path- soft, good throw but NOT a dupe of BBW *Nag Champ- nice, excellent throw *Peony- smells like florist, nice, great throw *Vanilla Romance- An awesome vanilla (not like food), great throw *Lime Basil Mandarine- Clean, nice, very good throw *Nantucket Brian used in body lotion...great clean scent. Not yet in wax I have also purchased the following but have yet to try them out: Creme Brulee Hydrangea Tuberose Glow Rainforrest Sweet Honeysuckle Sweet Fig and Cassis When I do, I will let you all know. Eve
  7. I dont know how to explain the grapefruit. The Henri Bendel grapefruit from BBW is close but the Jo malone has something else...don't know what, though...maybe heroin and that's why it's so addictive? Just kidding. Maybe it's just that the throw of the Jo Malone that is better. I just can't put my finger on it. From the JM site I copied the follwing: Instantly awakening the senses, Grapefruit is a lively, uplifting citrus with a spicy heart. Grapefruit and tangerine are combined with vetiver and rosemary to create this outspoken citrus. The Grapefruit Home Candle infuses any room with evocative scent and lasts for hours. An everyday luxury, it brings warmth to any environment. I would love to find a dup. Eve
  8. Here's my funny $345 Jo Malone Candle Story. First I said, well heck if Oprah can, than I can, too. So I ordered one Grapefruit one to be shipped. I was telling a friend at work that I took the plunge (almost $400 w/tax and ship). She said, oh I wish you would have told me, my daughter works at Neiman''s and gets 30% off. I said, well, I'm too lazy to return the candle, but for 30% off, no tax, no ship, I might as well order another and I did! I must say very expensive, but amazing candles and they lasted me way over a year...closer to two, always potent, always throwing. Around Christmas, I finished the second one....guess what I did? I used the large glass container (as a double boiler) and made a 2.5 kg candle in it! Lime Basil Mandarin (with a shot of pepper oil). I put four wicks, just like the original. ...put 4 lb wax, 8 oz fragrance and for about $25 ...I made my own....it smells damn good, too. I must admit, though, her grapefruit is different....I wish I could find a dup of it.
  9. I guess it all started back in November. I thought it would be nice to try and make a candle, seeing as I am such a big fan of some very exclusive candles (including votivo, jo malone, slatkin, etc). I did a search and setteled on IGI 4627 bec it appeared to be able to handle the largest % of fragrance at 10-12 %. I got wicks, jars and about 8 oils from WSP and I had a blast making the candles....I also gave some away as gifts for the holidays. Well, now it's Feb and I've already made candles, tarts, lotions, roll on perfume oils and I am awaiting the Melt and Pour Soap...it should arrive any day now. I'm not doing it as a business; I am just obsessed. I have placed the following orders. From Sweetcakes, I ordered the 16 oz.(I hope I love them) Nectarine Honey Blossom Red Currant. From Fragrance Oil Heaven, I order 2 oz samplers of Asian Spice Bamboo Sugar Cane Indoneisian Teak Moonlight Path Lemon Sugar Red Currant and Thyme Sensual Secrets Yuzu I thank you all for your imput...and now, I can say I empathize with all who are addicted! Eve
  10. I wanted to make candle and roll on with this scent. It is a Body Shop EO. I have seen that different manufacturer's patchouli's smell different. Does anyone know of a fo supplier who duplicates this one well? thanks eve
