  1. Thanks for the reply Crystal. It's really hard to test so many jars isn't it?
  2. Hi there, I am officially driving myself nuts trying to choose which jars to use. I have accumulated too many while testing and just cannot decide. I have attached (hopefully) pic of jars. I plan on having them in a shop at some point and really can't go with 1 particular look because the market here is a total mix from upscale, contemporary, country, beach, etc. I would greatly appreciate opinions!
  3. Hi Bill and Donna! Just saw this post while catching up. Congratulations on your store, how is it going? I am wanting to place my first gel order and the nearest supplier is the GelCandleShop near J-ville. Do you know anything about them, I can't find anything in the forums.
  4. Hope this works, I've been trying to post a photo of my first forever gel candle made w/ white sand and seashells from the beach where I live in Florida. I know I need more gel in it. I just stuck the votive holder down in the middle of the gel but I don't think that is the right way to do it. Any suggestions?
  5. Hello everyone, I have been unable to find the info on the search. Does anyone know where you can find frosted/unfrosted deco jars?
  6. Hi, Has anyone ever used containers from Old Tyme? We have a store here and they have a ton of containers but the prices aren't that great. Trying to find supplies w/o shipping charges. Thanks.
  7. Where do you find the frosted deco jar? I think I know what it looks like but not sure.
  8. Good idea. I will have to check out the frosted glass.
  9. I kept doing the same thing with the wicks until I started using the Avery labels also. I write the scent, wick and date.
  10. Thanks for all the replies. I think will offer both. I like the way the colors look but I just can't get past the frosting issues.
  11. I use ezsoy and cd wicks which is what I started off with. Haven't really tried anything else except eco wicks with votives.
  12. I use ezsoy and I had that happen a few times until I started pouring around 95 degrees and heating the jars before. Are you pouring slow? What kind of wicks are you using?
  13. I use the wick stickums from BC and haven't had any come loose. I have had problems with wicks floating in votives when there is about 1/2" of wax left.
  14. Thanks for the replies. I'm gonna show my ignorance here, what is the Spa line?
  15. I definitely giggled. How on earth did you make that?
  16. I'm still trying to decide which jars to use also. Pulling my hair out! I am testing jj, mason, bean pot, footed round, and straight sided round. I think I will end up going with what I can get close to home.
  17. Looks really nice! Wish I knew how to make soap.
  18. Summer citrus from BCN smells great!
  19. Hello, just curious about how many of you make your candles without any dye, and what your customers think about it.
  20. Great colors! I like the way you have your votives packaged.
  21. You might find jj at Winn Dixie. I looked all over town here and couldn't find any and just saw them by chance at the grocery store.
  22. I'm using ezsoy and like it even though it is temperamental. I add liquid dye and fo at about 175 and pour about 95, when it starts to get a film on top. Heat the jars before pouring for a few minutes and I use cd wicks. It would be good to know how you like the J223, I'm about to try it.
  23. Yes, he said you only need a tax id if you live in Alabama or Kentucky (I think that is where their other location is). I'm going to try to go by there in the next week or two and pick up some samples.
  24. I talked to them on the phone today and told me I do not need a state tax id number since I live in Florida. They recommended using J223 and 464. I am not familiar with these but I think the J223 is a 50/50 blend and 464 is 100%soy. Does anyone know if the 464 behaves like ezsoy? Thanks
