  1. I am going to attempt to use clamshells for my tarts... At what temp is it best to pour the wax in so that the clamshell does not warp? Also, I am going to test with 6006 first... is there a better wax that works for these? I am trying to keep from using 5 different waxes for each product.
  2. Does anyone use this scent in their line? I am a baked goods and fruit lover, so anything that smells remotely floral I am having a VERY hard time picking for my line. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks so much!
  3. Thanks for all the suggestions... I appreciate the help. Now it is just deciding which direction I want to take. I will let everyone know which direction I take once I make a decision...
  4. I am located in Indiana. My city is Anderson, but I am about 20 minutes from Indianapolis too. My county is Madison. My line is still undecided, as I like the country/prim look, but the husband likes the sleek look. My favorite color is baby blue. My hobbies include candlemaking, scrapbooking, stamping, reading, singing and dancing, and my all time favorite right now during my pregnancy is sleeping
  5. Why is it so hard for me to pick out a name for my business? I am completly brain dead when it comes to thinking of one. I would eventually like to add B&B to my candles, but my candles come first. My middle name is unique (atleast some say)... Starr, yet I can't come up with anything creative, lol. I am such a creativity loser I guess :embarasse
  6. I was just curious on how everyone decided to go with the jars they chose. I am trying to find a jar that I like, but here are so many to choose from I may lose my mind soon I have decided that I do not like the lock-lid jars, so I will just use the rest of those to make gifts. I have tried the roly-poly jars, and like the way they look, but wicking that booger has been a pain in my patootie. I have now ordered some 8oz apothacary and mason jars to try. Of course I still can't decide if I want to go with a 'country' look or a 'new age' look too... why oh why did I tell myself that candlemaking will BE the business for me, lol.
  7. If anyone has a recipe they are willing to share for Extremely Dry Skin, please email me at lilstarr78@insightbb.com Thanks!
  8. Will refined coconut oil work for CP soaps? Also, soybean oil... can ezsoy wax be used in place of the oil?
  9. Yes, but are those ingredients found at the local stores like Walmart, Meijer, etc.
  10. Call me impatient, but I want to make some soap tonight. I have had a rough couple of days and I want to try something new and exciting... this seems right up my ally. Does anyone have a basic recipe and instructions they would be willing to share. I have NO oils or anything on me, so I will be going out and buying these all locally. Is there a place to buy dye to color the soap, if not then mine is going to be a boring old white, lol. I have several scents on hand from my candles, and yes they have been proven to been soap friendly. I have already located lye (or what is sold as the drain crystals I read from millers website). I know there just has to be a basic recipe that doesn't include me having to order and wait for product... I don't think I can handle that I already have my box lined up, my crinkle cutter (from pampered chef, I knew I would find a use for it, lol), and parchment paper ready. I need to pick up ingredients, mixing stick, and I am ready to go. Someone please help.
  11. Is it safe to use the lye if you are pregnant. I have never made CP soap, or any soap for that matter, and would love to make this.
  12. Thanks to all, and to answer a question... I can't get into the co-ops either and I found out that you have to be a member for 30 days and have posted atleast 8 posts in order to gain access... We can wait together
  13. Where can I find the clamshell packaging used for tarts?
  14. I tried PMing you, but for some reason it says I do not have access to do that??? Can you email me the information to lilstarr78@insightbb.com I would appreciate it.
  15. Does anyone know where I can find something that smells like Apple Cider. I purchased a candle from a local store and the scent is Cinnamon Cider. I LOVE the smell of it, but to me it smells a little more like Apple Cider. I purchased Mulled Cider, but it doesn't have the same smell... I have to have it, lol. Please help.
