  1. I have looked in the thread for jj lids and Fillmore Container's prices look good-only .15 each. Has anyone ever tried coating or painting the lids. I just hate to have to buy something else separate. Also does anyone know if you can buy the lids separately from store? I haven't been able to find any locally here in Destin Florida. Thanks, Juggy.
  2. I do plan to stick with soy. I am waiting to test burn some of the batches I have recently made. From what I have read here, I will wait about 2 weeks. If I can figure out how to work my new camera, I will post a picture here and show how much better it looks when I followed everyones tips. I am the village idiot:p when it comes to electronics. Thanks, Juggy
  3. Thanks for all the tips. I love this message board! I just made a new batch and warmed the jars first, added fo at 175 and poured at 100 - they look better so far. Will keep my fingers crossed.
  4. Hey thanks a lot rallspach. I wish there was one near Destin so I could pick it up. Shipping is outrageous! I will be glad when I can get all my testing done. It's more complicated than I thought but fun.
  5. Hi, does anyone know of or use a supplier for wax, dye, fo or containers near the Florida panhandle. I live in Destin. Thanks.
  6. Thanks for the help! It's so confusing. Pour hot, pour cool - I guess I need to try all of it. I'm not giving up though because it is something I have always wanted to do and I am enjoying it. Do you think I can stay with the liquid dyes and still work out all the kinks in other ways?
  7. Hi everyone. I recently stumbled on this site and it seems to be just what I have been looking for. Just started making candles 2 mths ago. I am using ez soy in containers w/ no additives but fo and liquid dye. My results are so inconsistent. A lot of frosting and some rough tops. I have read that liquid dyes can add to frosting but I hate to give it up b/o cost (I have plenty) and good color results. I don't know how to post my pictures yet but am working on it. Thanks for any help.
