  1. I got new FO's, and was wondering if someone can help me with the color for 2 of them. I got grasshopper pie, and Teak and Frankinsence. I have been trying to figure out by the smell what color to make them and cant seem to come up with anything other then maybe light brown for the grasshoper pie.
  2. I also use a shot glass. I learned my lesson the hard way about using a plastic medicine cup, the FO will melt plastic...lol:laugh2:
  3. i get that with some fo's in soy, not all though. It also depends on how fast the candle cools. If you warm the jar a little first, this may help with the problem. I have also started setting mine in the oven, turned off, after they are poured, and they dont do have as big of holes, the heat gun will clean it up.
  4. I have the same feeling about the mason jars. If the wick isnt secured, its going to move. Wonder if they stick them to the bottom with anything, or just set them in after they pour the wax.
  5. I am wanting to make some basketball candles, and was wondering what the best type of paint would be to use? I am going to color then orange, so i would only need to pain the black lines on them.
  6. Well, my first experiment didnt turn out to well. I am not sure its going to work, but i am trying to use soy, so i dont know if its a good idea to use soy or not. The wax broke when i tried to take it out of the mold. Not sure if its the type of wax, or just got in to big of a hurry. I am going to try again in the morning, will let you know.
  7. I am going to make a hurrican for a babyshower, and i was wondering if anyone knows if it will make a difference when i make it if i tape the edges of the paper together so it go all the way around the shell. I have a design i want to use, and would like it to go all the way around, but not sure if that is possible because of the tape or if i should just use one piece so it is just on one side not all the way around.
  8. I pour at about 100, the one i did yesterday that did it was in a pint mason jar, with a cd-18, with cucumber melon fo. I also did some at the same time that were cotton candy fo, in a little smaller mason jar, but they didnt do the tunneling that the other did.
  9. Ok, i must have still been half asleep or just brain dead when i posted this, but, i am using the EZ soy, dont know where i came up with the other wax, sorry for the confusion. I will change my other post with the right wax.
  10. I get my wax from BCS, Hope thats what you were asking..lol
  11. I have been using Ecosoy, and in some candles, i get a big hole around the wick. It doesnt happen with every candle i pour, but the ones it does do it in, the hole goes all the way to the bottom, but there is a film that covers it at the top. I am adding the same amount of fo in all candles, about 1 1/4 oz per pound of wax. Anyone have any suggestions that would help with this? It should be ez soy, not ecosoy, sorry for any confusion
  12. I am trying to make whipped wax that acctually looks like whipped cream put on top of stuff. I made a Banana Cream pie, and it looks like a bowl of mashed potatoes..lol The other is Cafe Latte, the latte looks a little better, but it still doesnt look like a dolep of whipped cream. I am using Ezsoy wax. They smell great, and am burning the pie now, hope it smells as good burning as it does cold.
  13. I was reading the posts about the hand shaped molds, so i thought i would mess around, and see if i could get a latex glove to work as a mold. I didnt wick the fingers, just wanted to make sure it would work, will work on wicking it tomarrow.
  14. I was wondering the same thing. I would think it would burn the stuff that is on the outside.
  15. This is the first hurrican i have tried, and couldnt believe it came out this good for the first. This one is gonna have to be for show because i have a low melt point wax, so dont wanna burn in it. I also learned not to get in a big hurry to take it out, as i cracked it, but was able to fill it in with hot wax so it doesnt look to bad.
