  1. Don't cha hate the cure time thing. I hate it when I got them made and a customer is wanting them bad. I have to say NO. Oh that is hard. I am learning to keep them stocked up. A little at a time. Hopefully soon I will have about 20 cases made up and sitting for 2 weeks.
  2. No, No, NO. You got a bad batch. The best ones are from Steve, at The Candlemaker Store. He makes them. They are in a square and they will stick to curves, dusty glass, dirt, my fingers, anything if they are right. I have gotten a batch that didn't stick, and they took them back. You should not have to heat anything, or use a pen, nothing. You should be able to stick them on the wick and stick um in the jar. Starrville Soaps in Texas carry's them too. I will never use the rolls again. They are a pain in the butt. But before you call them to tell them they don't stick. Make sure you took the little wax piece off of the sticker first. Stick it to your finger. It should stick well to your finger. If it comes off, they are no good. If your finger is dry. Mine are so good, they get stuck on the rim of the jar and I have to pry them off.
  3. They took my credit cards away. Hey the candles are fine. If you want to see some bad looking candles. Just walk the stores and places that burn candles. You will see discolored, uneven, whole jar black, smokey smelling candles. None of them burn smooth and beautiful. I THINK:confused: ......Just keep pouring. Think about what you would care about if you ordered candles. SCENT...... They open them, and get a wiff, and they are hooked.
  4. I use 464. I get a great throw. Once in awhile, I will hear someone say they have one that is light. But not many. I make about 3 cases a week. I use 1.5oz per lb. No less. I cure for 3 to 4 days, sometimes longer. I use ECO 10's in an 8oz jar. I also add 15% parrifin. Just enough to make the tops smooth and add to the throw. There is still no smoke. They burn clean and even. And I get the great CT from the soy. Maybe this will help. I think that CS peach is weak. I think BCS cucumber melon is really weak. That is a hard scent to get right. I like CS the best. Almost every time, the throw is awesome. I added pineapple to the peach and it is kick butt. Pearberry should have been really strong in any wax. I like CS leaves. They are true. Also check out NGs reviews. They have some really strong ones for soy. Millcreek has some good ones too. Just test everything first. Also remember that after you pour a batch of candles, when you burn one it will seem weak. If you pour all the time, nothing will smell strong to you anymore. I can't test my own. I can't smell them anymore. Get some one else to test them before you decide they are weak.
  5. I found that people want memories in the fall. They want the smells of the years past. Don't you want memories that time of year? I love candle sciences cinnamon stick. It is the best cinnamon I have ever had. It has a little nutmeg and clove in it. I am selling out of it NOW, in the heat. You ought to try it. You can add any fruit to it. Their mac apple is the best around too. Mix that together, and make another great seller. Anything with pumpkin works. Add some cinnamon to the pumpkin souffle and it makes it better. I am sooooooo ready for the fall already.
  6. Starrvilles Soaps is awesome. You can mix your own too. Just make sure your vanilla is not too sweet.
  7. If she is around saddles, she won't mind the leather scent. I mix it with strawberry and I mix it with vanilla. I can't keep either one. I call mine Cowboy Vanilla. Put a leather strip around the rim too. Makes it cute. Or pour it in a horse shaped jar.
  8. You know I got the very vanilla in Dec and hated it. That is when I was pouring like crazy. I found one in the closet and lite it up the other day. It is awesome. I agree it makes me hungry too. I guess since my nose has cleared out, I can really smell it now. It wasn't a seller for me. But I was using 6006 then. Now I am using soy. I wish it didn't make me hungry. I would burn it all day. Funny how a scent can smell so different at different times.
  9. Millcreeks Gain is awesome, also their Tranquil is different and good, Morning Dew, High Cotton, all good sellers. Candle Science Ocean, Clean Cotton, Juniper Breeze, Downy, they have the best one, Honey Dew is fresh too.
  10. Millcreeks is awesome in soy. Very strong and true.
  11. I have not made soap with LStars scents. But I have used a lot of them for candles. If you want to know what they smell like. Starrville Soaps is a great place to get soap stuff. They sell in glass, and they got a kick butt strawberry, coconut. I go to their store so I can tell you what their scents smell like too. They also have a lot of soap molds, and containers. In Texas. Starrville Soaps.
  12. The cold throw is nothing compared to soy. Once you are used to the soy CT, you will never be happy with the mix. Cut back on the parrifin. You can add as little as 20% parrifin and get a great cold throw, and also the benefits of the parrifin, without the smoke. What I have never understood, is you can get an incredible cold throw with some soy, and light it and there is nothing. Seems impossible. And you can get a nothing cold throw with some parrifin and light it and it knocks you over. Weird hugh. The cold throw sells the candle. The first time anyway.
  13. I get mine at Starrville in Tyler Texas for 46.00. 44.00 for 3 or more. ( 464 )That is closer to you. I don't know what he charges to ship it. But the price is right. Also you could ask the supplier, if they have broken pieces of slabs they would let you have cheaper. That 20.00 case sure sounds good. I would have jumped on that.
  14. I don't dare get a bigger SUV. I fill up the van now. I understand. (But honey I had to spend the Mortgage payment on candle stuff. I will make a lot of money from this and then pay the mortgage, ok?) He now realizes I am right. He loves all the calls and orders. He is a candle seller too. So it makes it easier on me. But he doesn't know how out of hand I get when I start ordering scent. I go nuts. I want them ALL.
  15. I love MCs lemon drop and their coconut. Both awesome. Add a touch of vanilla if you get a funky oil scent. That tones it down in any citrus.
  16. Oh that done it. I am calling my Angel. I want more...... No, can I have your autograph? I am so proud of you girl. What a neat thing to show that baby one day. I hope you get famous.
  17. I also use 464 and I use a lot of CS oils. I use the Eco 10 in my 9oz jars. In the 6.5 I would use an Eco 8. I get great HT in all my scents. But I use 1.5oz per lb. I think it has a lot to do with temp. too. My guess is your wicks are too big. Just my opinion.
  18. I use UPS. I put them back in the boxes the jars came in. I take them to UPS and they pack them for me. It is cheap and worth it. They double pack them, and if anything is broken, they pay for it. So you don't have to buy extra insurance, plus it comes with insurance too. I never have a problem. I hate to pack boxes. This is too easy for me.
  19. Lone Stars Happy is good. I used to get Rapture from Royal Aromatics. But now you have to order 10 lbs each I think. It sure was good. Most of their scents are colognes.
  20. Have you ever wondered why they are so addicting? :confused:It is just a smell.
  21. I can't remember what BBs smells like. I got the oil. I did not like it. I poured it and let it cure. It was awesome. Sold out.
  22. Not once in the millions of candles I have poured has one person said to me. That one doesn't have as much wax as this one does. Some of the oils will make the wax sink more than others. I don't believe you will ever get each one so perfect. If they are so perfect they look like factory candles. I pour mine right above the bottom of the rim. That gives them a little room to sink. They come out fine. Don't worry mate. The customer picks up the candle. Opens it. If it smells wonderful, they want it. They don't care about the jar, or the color, or if it has more in it. If that scent hits them right, they are in. They will buy the one you are burning if you are out of the one they want.
  23. I will add that I wasn't watching the low flash point on one of my scents. It started bubbling and it turned white and fizzy. The scent was ok, but it scared me. Then I checked the flash point. Oops. I think that one might have flashed if it wasn't cooling down.
  24. This one just really throw me. I smell like a salty playdoe smell. I think it is my nose. But my customers don't like it. I don't get it. I think it needs to be sweeter. I thought for sure it would sell well. NOPE. That one and pumpkin souffle, I can't sell it either. The girls swear by this one. I wonder if it has to do with the different climates. Who knows. Tell me.
  25. I don't even want to count all mine. I decided to clean out the old ones about 3 months ago. I bet I threw away 100 bottle, just because I didn't like them. Not samples, bottles. I thought about that later. That wasn't very smart. I could have sold them. I got one small room pretty full of oils. I am addicted. I do know that. I am sitting here thinking about ordering something new. I get tired of the same things. What I need to do is make some new blends out of what I have. But oh no, that is not good enough. I want a new bottle of something coming in. It is so exciting to get something new on the way. That is the problem. If we could get our customers this addicted, we would be Rich, Rich,Rich.
