  1. Is it just mine, or is everybody having a slow down these days? I sure would like to hear about a candle business that is doing really good. I need some cheering up. Anyone?
  2. I did use 12 continously. But I narrowed mine down too. I think I am using 7 now. Much easier. NGs, Millcreek, Starrville, Lone Star, Candle Science, Candle Wic, KY.
  3. Those are so cool! I think they would love those.
  4. I make my clam shells with 100% soy and I love them. They are strong, have a great cold throw, are not bumpy. The customers love them. They are cheaper to make too.
  5. I mix mine with a touch of lemonade. It is really good.
  6. Angel would be a really clean, pure scent to me. Comfort would be a vanilla, something to think of home, Courage would be a woodsy scent, those are the ones that I can think of.
  7. I agree with you. You are right. I need to think about that with my company too. Instead of getting caught up with all this economy stuff. I need to find ways to treat the customer better than ever these days. Thanks for your words of wisdom. I will still keep Kentucky though. I won't throw them away unless it continues for awhile. And I will call and speak to them first before I move on. So far, I am getting good service. This last order was one day later than most. But they are prompt. So far they answer my emails. So I have no complaints here. :smiley2:
  8. The suppliers are having a hard time to. The money is not there like it used to be. It is much harder to keep stuff in stock. Their creditors are on their butt too. They have to cut back on help. That is why you get crummy service. I am seeing this with several good suppliers. Just bare with them. I have the same problems with my company. It is much harder to keep everything going now. This economy is really messing with a lot of us. Everyone makes mistakes. Give them a break. And hope when you get in a bind, someone will give you a break too. I don't mean to complain. I just wanted you to understand what might be happening. We are all in this together. We got to give a little and hope others will give a little too. Like out bill collectors. :smiley2:
  9. I love the cats too. The Hemingway House was really cool. I lived in Key West. I loved to go see the cats. I wish I knew what Hemingway smells like. I go to Starrville a lot and might be able to tell if it is the same as Applewood. Tom would still carry it if is the same. I like their Vanilla Suede too.
  10. At least tell you, I changed my mind, thanks. That is so rude. I have customers that write me an email asking me how much shipping is for the candles.......This happens all the time. Ok, like where do you live??? What size and how many candles? How fast do you want them to get there??? I started to up the prices and call it free shipping on 50.00 or over.
  11. I notice it in a lot of the citrus. I notice it more since I am making candles all the time. But the customers don't notice it. I was at a show one Sat. and a candle maker had a orange scent burning. I was gagging all day, but she was selling them. No one said a word. They sure smell good when you pour them though.
  12. Starrville has a real good one. I also use NGs. It is good too.
  13. I believe the soy has the most cold throw. But palm is strong too. And may not change after time. Some of the soy scents will sour. Maybe our humid air. I was thinking maybe the palm would not do that. Just my opinion. I do love my soy cold throw. It sells the candles.
  14. I think they just threw any kind of wick in there. Most likely a flat wick. It burned down the center and you could see it burning. I don't know if they were all made the same. But I sure enjoyed that class. haha:yay:
  15. I never had any luck with Ecos. I love the CDs over any of them so far. In soy.
  16. I like Candle Science and Millcreek on that one. If you add a little coconut to the one you have it will cut the fuel smell and make it smell really good.
  17. I can count on Millcreeks to be strong. BCS very weak except a few, NGs a lot of good ones, some duds, Candle Science, great, Peak, the ones I tried were very good. Starrvilles always strong, Wellingtons top grade is awesome but pricey, I like Kentucky, I thought the ones I use are very strong, Candle Wic is very good and not so pricey on some.
  18. I was thinking, please no more suppliers, please, please. no. :tiptoe:
  19. I have that going on with several suppliers. They tell me the money is just not there. The manufacturers are cracking down on credit with them. I am out of some of my scents all the time now. Just on a smaller scale then they are. It is hard to make it. The oils are going up for them too. And wax. This darn gas is causing another rise. I hate paying 20. or more a lb too. NGs is even going up. I don't want any of them to have to close.
  20. The ones I find are always weak. I would love to find one that is good and strong.
  21. My customers rave when they are that strong. They can always blow them out. Most of the time when somebody has a problem with them, they ask them to not burn them. If they just open the lid, it will put off a little for their own office. Nobody complains to me that they are too strong. But I don't make many perfumy headache ones. Ya know?
  22. The melts I touched were pariffin. One of the consultants told me what they make and if she is right, they are not making hardly anything. All they are doing is building product and making Scentsy a lot of money. I have seen them at a lot of shows that only allow handmade. I don't get it.
