  1. Well I must be the oddball. I make mine a pretty blue. It matches my label with the monkey on it. And I added a bubble that has the Monkey saying Opps!. It is so cute. I make mine with grapefruit and banana. This scent is awesome and it is actually what they eat. It is a top seller for me. Young and Old want to buy the Monkey Farts.
  2. I am working on my fall list. This year I am going through the cookbooks and finding great names for my fall scents. then I will mix them to make them smell like the picture looks. I also make the labels with the picture on them. So far I have gotten, Sweet Potato Cheescake. I did this one last year with success. Pumpkin Marmalade Bread, yum, Pumpkin Waffles, those are so good at IHOP. I think I can dupe them. Spiced Pumpkin and Praline Roll, my candy corn I make with creme brulee every year and they go nuts. They have no idea it is creme brulee. It smells just like it. Rich buttery vanilla. I get that at Wix and Wax under Deb's Gourmet Creme Brulee. You can also use sugar cookie. Smells like candy corn. it is cheap if you buy it straight from the supplier. Like 4.00 a lb. IFT makes it. My Get-R-Done candle I made for last fall, but it sells year round. it doesn't matter what you put in it, they buy it for the name. I make my own muller cider with apples oranges cinnamon and clove, the best. Pineapple Upside Down Cake is really good if you add brown sugar and buttery vanilla. I try to make stuff no one else has. Those seem to sell better for me. I am working on a Hound Dog Punch. I don't have all the ingredients yet, but I like the name. I thought maybe this would help some of the newbies with ideas on how to come up with your own scents. I know it is hard when you start. Anyone else want to add to this fall creations list? Makes me feel cooler, thinking about it.
  3. I want to know NOWWWWWWWWWWW. I can't wait. Fess up:D
  4. I have never found a true pumpkin pie. I have tried almost every company. I have been trying to mix my own for years. I want it to smell JUST like it. Not the spice, or the crust, all of it.
  5. Royal Aromatics has a lot of them. I would be surprised if they didn't have what you want. And most that I have used are right on the money.
  6. Please, if anyone has ideas how to make money with candles in the summer, give me some clues. I am tired of slow slow summers. I wish I could take off all summer. But that is impossible. I just need some good ideas to make money in the summer. I am hoping someone has a thriving summer business and don't mind sharing some secrets. TIA
  7. I am out of jars. After all these years making candles, I would think that I would be glad to have a break. But the truth is that I am not happy unless I have my stuff. I absolutly love to get up and come to work. I love making candles. So nothing is in my pot this weekend. But before I rain out of jars, I mixed a few really good blends. Lemon, Orange, Peaches, a real seller this weekend, apple and violet, really clean and popular, vanilla grapefruit, thought it would be better, but didn't sell well. It is like Christmas when I get everything in to make candles. So Monday will be Christmas for me again. Do others feel this way too?
  8. I love Wix and Wax red. It is the prettest deep red. Then 1 drop per pitcher makes a nice pink and 2 drops makes a deeper pink that is awesome.
  9. I make candles and max them out with oil. If I put more in, it would run down the sides. Know what I mean? Then you got this customer that says, can you make mine extra strong? They already say, mine are the strongest. I think they tell all the candlemakers that. lol I heard this several times, so I decided to tell them, I would do it for 2.00 extra. Ha! But I didn't, because they are already maxed. SOOOO........I over scented one and keep it back to show them what would happen if I add more scent. That works, cause it looks bad. Just wondered if you go thru that too.
  10. I would like to get into soap, but I would like to know what really sells. I used to do melt and pour, but I see alot of homemade recipes out there now. TIA
  11. Can I ask what kind of wax do you use for those. They are so pretty. TIA
  12. I use alot of sweet orange and chili pepper and never get a fuel scent. I used 6006 wax. Ny customers love it. I have found that sometimes we are the only ones that can smell the fuel scent.
  13. What I hate is those soy candlemakers that say their candles are 100% all natural. I see them everywhere. Are the stupid? I agree, someone will try to eat it, or taste it just to see.
  14. You need to clip your wick after each use. If it still smokes, clip it some more. I have to watch them at the craft shows. There is always wind, and I have to keep clipping them down because of the draft. Another reason might be that when you pick it up to blow it out, you might get wax on the wick. It will smoke with wax on it for a little bite. Hope this helps.
  15. I love the heart shape dishes. I charge 12.00 and sell out. I didn't want to leave them unsealed, so I found that Reynolds Wrap is real stretchy and you can pull it across and stretch it tight all the way around. Then snip the edge off. It looks very professional. Just thought I would add that. I haven't tried embeds but think I will add those this year. I also make special labels and cut them out in the shape of the heart to put on top. Cute.
