  1. I think their pots are really cute. But their scents are not so good. It looks like to me that the person that ordered the scents told the manufacturer, I want everything you got that is so strong it will knock you over. Never realizing that strong is not always better. A lot of their scents are ones that I have tried and thrown out. OVERPOWERING, headachy scents. I have talked to several that put theirs away because they were too strong. My customers begged me to make my scents for their pots. So I did. I was hoping they were as good as Scentsys and what I found is they are so much better. They love them. I am glad that Scentsy didn't know how to pick out scents. It is making me money. And this thing about them not guaranteeing their pots if they use other melts, is bologna. How would they know if you used another brand. That can be cleaned out. I don't ever down their product outside of us candlemakers. I always say they have a good product. It only makes you look bad if you down the other guy. If they see that you are not downing them, they tend to come look and see what you carry too. Some of my customers used mine and Scentsy. They know I am fine with this. That makes them feel better. :smiley2:
  2. I went up a 1.00 per candle and so far so good.
  3. I found wooden cut out's at Hobby Lobby. They soak up the oils good.

Scentsy is making me money. I sell so many of those clamshells, it is hard to keep up. I don't know how well you will do on line. I found that people have to smell them. But if you do the shows and sell to friends, you should do well. I sell mine for 4.00 each or 6 for 20.00. Works for me. Good luck.
  5. It was the bulb. Senior moment here once again.....
  6. Personally, I have always been able to see the shipping, sometimes before the order goes out. E-mail is generally sent with all info on it. This is strange. Call them. That is the only thing left to do. Once you know how much they cost you, then you won't have to do this the next time. You will have your price. Hope you get it. :smiley2:
  7. Never mind. The first time I looked, they were 7.95. Incredible price. Then as I went thru their site, I noticed nothing else was that cheap. When I went back they were 34.95. Weird. I don't know what happened. But I wanted to share a good price, if I found one. Sorry:confused:

  9. I do mine full strenght. I used to buy high end oils from the flower shop and they were full strenght. I used water to burn them in and it was fine. Just my input.
  10. Should have a packing slip. Sometimes you have to look for them, or they are taped on the outside of the box. If not, is there an 800. number?
  11. I use the really bright florescent pink. It takes a lot of drops to get it bright wild pink, but 1 or 2 drops makes a great baby pink.
  12. I tried the sugared vanilla cookie, and could not sell it. It may be because I have better scents in that type. I love NGs sugar cookie. I use 464 and it really throws. I was surprised to hear that you guys like that one.
  13. I am glad Scentsy came out. They had the money to do the advertizing, and had plenty of workers to explain about them. Plus they stuck a high price tag on them and now I am reaping the profits. I made them, but no one knew what they were. They were leary and it was a pain explaining them over and over. Now, they see that clamshell, and it is instant addiction. I love those. I have used them for years too. My sales are going up and I am happy. The problem with Scentsy, is you have to order, and pay shipping. Unless you have a girl that keeps them stocked. They are so happy to see me because I carry them with me.
  14. I sell the peach and sweet berries, berry tangerine like crazy. I have tried a few of them, but those two I continually have to reorder.
  15. I sell the clamshells for a lot of my customers that have Scentsy pots. I have been told over and over the Wal mart ones are not strong. Our Wal Mart only carries about 10 fragrances. The only one they say is pretty strong is blueberry. Make your own. They are really easy to sell now that Scentsy taught the US what they are for. Works for me.
  16. You can add apple with violet too and it is yummy.
  17. I tried some new one's from NGs that I love. Kia, which is a spa type. Real nice. Kinda like a wisteria only with other stuff in it that makes it a lot better. Jade is one of the most clean smells I have ever smelled. I put a little in my plug in on top of the gain, and it is so strong and nice. Euphoria is an earthy type cologne. I smell sandlewood and a sweet smell. Aqua Di Gio seems to be the closest one to the real thing. They are all hits with my customers. I am also tired of bakery and want more fresh smells.
  18. One of my suppliers was out of wax for weeks. Another is out of almost everything. Don't want to say names. We are all hurting. Makes it hard, when they are out of stuff too. Hope everyone gets better this year.
  19. I noticed NGs has gone up on a lot of theirs. I hate that. It is hard for people to pay for things now. I hate to raise the price on my products.
  20. I would not charge her. Tell her in the trash, or come and get them. Just a little appreciation for her help with testing. I do that all the time. They don't want them free either. But they get them free.
  21. I sell mine too fast to sit that long. I hate to hear that. Because the stores that carry them have them sitting. I sure hope they don't get a yucky smell. Here is something else to think about. When there are many people smelling these or candles, they get germs. After awhile the germs make the candle smell bad. That is why so many candles at the stores smell bad. I don't send out little samples to be passed around for that very reason. I try to keep my stock new and not stock up. I also switch out my store's candles, so they always have fresh ones. The ones I pick up, I put were I know they will sell fast. Just some tips and thought.
  22. Thank you for sharing. That is a lot of writing. I am new at the clamshells with soy. I did them years ago with parrifin. But they didn't sell like they do now. 100% soy 464 seems to work well. Fantastic cold and hot throw. My customers are more than pleased. But I know summer is coming and I want to try the feather palm. They are so pretty and will hold up better in the heat. What I want to know, is do they throw well, and are they as strong as the soy. I will have to play with it and find out. But I am happy with what I am selling now. Since the Scentsy craze started, I have really been able to sell these. :smiley2:
  23. This is my opinion.:smiley2: All of are being told that our candles are the best they have ever had. So we all get the big head and believe that we have the best candles ever. Then we decide, if our candles are that good, we must know something about making them. So we teach others what we have learned and all of us have different ways of making them. Once we find out that the customers are also telling the other candle makers, theirs are the best. We hang our heads and get down off the pedestal and act like normal people again. There is more than one way to make a candle. And if all of us would remember that, we might not jump on the new guy. Just my opinion, and I say all this in fun. I was one that was on the pedestal. At one time I felt like a rock star. I was great, I was wonderful, I was the best. It was fun for a while. Make your candles, get creative, mix those scents, make up cool names and do what works for you. That is the best part of this job for me.
  24. That's a good idea. But I run into this. Well, these are cheaper, so they must not be as good. Put a higher price tag on them and then put them on sale, you hear these must be better ones and they are on sale. Let's get these. I know this goes on, but I go to Dillards and look for those sales. It works. That is what I will probably do. I am looking for a different look for my tarts. I don't want to do clamshells. I want them to stand out. I think I found it, but still checking.
