  1. Actually, a juried show means they judge your products. Like a jury? Most of those type shows are handmade because they do judge the products. You don't have to compete in the competition usually. And I find them to be better shows. I see that they are adding other type booths now to fill spaces. Scentsy is driving me nuts. They have a great product. High priced, but good stuff. I have heard so many people tell us they can't afford candles anymore, and then go spend 100. on Scentsy products. I thought for awhile, I might just sell Scentsy too. But after talking to many reps. They don't make much at all. Scentsy makes the money. It is like Avon. You work your tail off for nothing. So now I am going to make the clamshells for their pots like everyone else is doing. They have really hurt our business. I tried to sell nice pots and clamshells for years, but it never caught on. At least now, they have done all the work explaining them to the customers. I can sell them now. The customers think this is a new idea, dah!!!!!!!:rolleyes2
  2. I think they are totally different smells. I never did like CSs, but I do like MCs
  3. You can email Candlewics. They make wicks. He is really good at sending you free samples and suggesting wicks for what you are using. I wait until the have a 50% sale and get a 1000 wicks for 26.00. They have those sales quit often and the wicks are awesome. I also noticed that companies add EOs to their FOs. Like CSs Lavender. I have heard that straight EOs are not strong. But I don't remember where I heard that. I like what she said, about them being for benefit instead of scent. That does make senses. Hope you figure this out.
  4. Make a rustic candle, and the bumpy top adds to it. I can see where the customers are used to soy being bumpy. In fact, when I was smoothing it out, I had people ask if it was true soy. I am in Texas. I guess there are others that are making a rustic looking candle too. I got tired of worrying about it.
  5. Mt credit card fell apart, so that stopped that. lol
  6. I love MCs sandlewood and patchouli. It is really strong and very true.
  7. I used Kys, and it is ok. But Lone Stars rocks in soy. It is sweeter and smells just like a birthday cake. :yay:It is a very good seller and lots of people ask for more.
  8. I mix orange/apple /cinnamon/cloves/nutmeg. Maybe you could mix it until you get it right. I know my mix is a great seller.
  9. I got it from candle wic, and it is really good. My customers say it smells just like it. I love it. Has kind of a tea type smell. Very good and strong. I also got their Sugared Vanilla Shortbread. Gonna be a top seller for sure.
  10. Berry Tangerine, PS I love you, Sugared Vanilla Sweet Bread all rock.
  11. When I switched to soy, NGs sugar cookie is the best vanilla frosting I have smelled. Yum. Wasn't as good in parrifin. I sell it by the case.
  12. Ok, I use them and love them. I go in and see them and know their products pretty good. Yes, the creme brulee is awesome. My top seller for 5 years. High maintenance smells like Tyler candle. It is different. You either like it or not. I use it. Tuscan gardens I am not sure of. I never smelled Diva. I don't carry that one. I love their sandlewood vanilla, pumpkin bread, pumpkin spice, apple cinnamon butter, all of their reg. scents like pomegranite, strawberry, etc are excellent. I am not so happy with mac apple, but love their green apple. If you want to know about a scent, ask me. There are too many to name. They come in glass bottles. Full strenght scent. I use soy and they are strong enough for me. They get their stuff out fast. I am very impressed with Starrville. www.tylerstarrville.com
  13. Along time ago, I got my charcoal sticks from Tradewinds. I loved them. Haven't looked them up lately
  14. Millcreeks is the herb smelling one, not the perfumy one.
  15. Kys Sugar Corn Pudding was a hit last year. Still asking for it thru the summer. Millcreeks got some to die for. Their Gingerbread, doesn't smell like gingerbread to me. I call it Praline Dessert and it flys off the shelf. Incredible scent through. The cinnamon vanilla smells like a real Snickerdoodle. NGs sugar cookie in soy smells like the best buttercream icing. Yum. Pumpkin Souffle from CS is good, but I add cinnamon and make it much better. I mixed my own pumpkin pie right off the recipe book. But this year they cut sweet milk, which made the pie smell like it. The only one that has it, is KY and it doesn't smell like Eagle brand milk. Not the same. So I am looking for a good sweet milk. I guess these are my tops for fall.
  16. I would like to have a straight, true carnation.
  17. All I know is my customers are much happier now with our soy candles then they were with our parrifin. They tell me they do not smoke as much and soot up the curtains. Works for me. I don't bash. I made some good parrifin candles too. :yay:When I hear someone bashing the other guy, I tend to go see what they other guy has got that is so good.
  18. ruby red and a little yellow make a true pretty red. Just add more drops.
  19. I found that if you add a little cinnamon to the pumpkin souflle it makes it sooo much better and sells even better. I add creme brulee to all my baking goodies. It is like pouring butter into the recipe.
  20. I love it. It is soooooo clean smelling. It is not a seller for me. But I don't care. I like it for me. I added it to a no fragrance shampoo and it is wonderful.
  21. It is nothing like apple pie. I don't like it. But I have one customer that loves it. It never really sold to my other customers. It has got cinnamon in it, maybe a little more than apple pie. Hope this helps.
  22. They are all different. So I use them from different companies and call them different names. Add fruits to them, and cinnamons. I can add creme brulee to a fruit and make it another top seller. That is the best scent I have ever worked with.
  23. MCs is the best I have ever found. It is a true lemon, with just a touch of sweet. It does not smell like pledge. More like lemon drops. Amazing throw and good mixer. I will never settle for less after trying their lemon drop.
  24. They have always treated me right. But I also go into the store sometimes. So they know me. That helps. If they want you to do all that weird stuff, tell them firmly, but nicely, NO, I expect you to take care of this. I am a busy person and don't have time to do your work. I can send this back to you, if you like. Send me a UPS label. If you talk firm to them or any other company, they know you mean business and don't think of you as a fly by night teenager trying to make a candle. Ya know? Stand up. Works for me.
