  1. Wish I lived nearby, I'd be that fourth person to attend! I'm always trying to think of ways to make my booth more appealing. Thanks for offering to share any pointers you learn if the class is a go!!!!
  2. Don't be afraid ... I find it to be lots of fun to create my own labels. I use Avery Design Pro. It's easy, I can get creative with it, and best of all, it's a FREE download.
  3. It makes all the hard work and testing worthwhile, doesn't it? Good job!!
  4. Gorgeous ornaments! I'd be proud to hang those on my Christmas tree!!!
  5. Those are adorable! Don't you just love the dollar stores?!!!
  6. I poured 24 enamelware cups with Mulled Cider, Cappuccino Hazelnut and Hot Cocoa. I also poured and started bagging my "Fragrant Wax Melts" for an upcoming open house.
  7. I'm not too swift with my digital camera yet ... still learning. LOL. The baskets were white wire baskets I purchased at the dollar store. They were gifts for women.
  8. The accounting dept. at work ordered two gift baskets to give to their supervisors for Bosses Day. Basket 1 contains a square mason (in back), 2-8 oz. jj's and a 4 oz. jj (front). Basket 2 contains 2 square masons, 2-8 oz. jj's and has an auto air freshener hanging on the outside of the basket. My picture taking techniques need GREAT improvement but I thought I'd share anyway. Thanks for looking.
  9. I use spring type clothespins. Put the wick through the hole, bend it over and clamp it. Works every time.
  10. Website, craft shows, friends, co-workers, family, etc.
  11. I use Eco's in my jelly jars but find the CD's work best for me in my square masons.
  12. After doing nothing last weekend (had the grandkids all weekend), I am going to be busy pouring to prepare for my open house at the end of the month and the craft fair in early November. Also making air fresheners, wax melts, and firestarters. I'm taking three days off work next week to have fun playing in my wax! Can't wait!!
  13. I applied for a registered trademark on my logo early this year. I have still not received the registered trademark yet. My attorney said it usually takes around 7 months from start to finish.
  14. I am hosting my very first open house at the end of the month. My cousin will be co-hosting, selling her original designed jewelry. I would appreciate any suggestions from others who have hosted open houses before as to how you have made your open house a success. Please let me know if we are on the right track: We have flyers made up and ready to mail. The open house is scheduled for a three-hour time period. We are both offering a door prize with a value of approximately $35. To enter the drawing for the door prizes, we will have slips for everyone to fill out, which will ask for their name, address, phone number and email address (we will add this info. to our future mailing lists). We will be serving light refreshments and we will be offering "open house specials," will have cash and carry items, and will take orders for items as well. I will be offering fall and holiday fragrances, as well as my year-round best sellers. Okay, let 'er rip! I'm open to any suggestions any of you have! TIA!!!
  15. I have to agree with everyone else ... they are great just the way they are!
  16. A person can't sit and worry about the "what if's." That doesn't mean you should not be prepared for something to happen, but things will happen whether you worry about them or not. Just be sure to cover all your bases ... produce the safest product possible, post adequate warning labels, carry a good amount of insurance ... then enjoy what you do.
  17. I got my business license through the municipality where I live. This is the state sales tax license. This is the number I use to file my sales tax with the State of Illinois.
  18. I am a sole proprietor and have a state sales tax license, not an EIN. When I supply the state sales tax license number to wholesalers I am then permitted to purchase from them. The items I purchase are not for personal use. They are strictly resold through my business.
  19. My labels are pretty uncomplicated so I use Avery Design Pro. It's pretty user friendly ... if I can do it, anyone can!!!
  20. Just raising my thumbs up for NG as well! I have not been disappointed with any FO's I have ordered from them yet. The FO's I've tried throw well in soy. They are reasonably priced and customer service is top notch as well!
  21. I use Lonestar's Buttercream in my EZSoy and get fantastic cold and hot throw. I don't know how it compares with Yankme's, though.
  22. I use these type molds with no problem. If I put them in the freezer for a short time, the tarts pop right out of the mold.
  23. I think it's fun but after a large order I sometimes get "fussy." Mainly because I am still pouring in my kitchen and I am forced to clean up my mess immediately. My dream is to one day have a shop set up so everything is in one place and I don't have to pick up constantly!!
  24. I find it fun because I absolutely LOVE candles and I love the idea that I can create whatever my little heart desires! And it brings me so much pleasure when someone comments to me how much they like my candles, too!!!
