  1. I purchase my crates from them and I just LOVE them. I'm sure you'll get a response soon. You won't be sorry you ordered from them!
  2. I did a craft fair last year where I was between two other vendors in a 10X10 space (can we say "claustrophobia?!"). I set up my space so the customers would come into my booth. Otherwise, there would have been too much wasted space if I had my tables facing out. This setup worked well for me. I agree with Barncat in that I believe you have to have an inviting booth space regardless of which setup you use in order to draw the customers in.
  3. Fantastic news! I was always a fan of McCalls candles. I would take her comment as the HIGHEST form of flattery! Wonderful job and here's to great success for you!!
  4. First and foremost, have an attractive booth space that will get the customers' attention and draw them in. Once they are in your space, engage in conversation. I usually begin with a big smile and a "Good morning" or "Hello." Then I ask if they are familiar with soy wax candles (the product I sell). Ask them what their favorite fragrance is. If you have it, show them what sizes you have. If you don't, steer them towards something similar that you think they may like. I think being friendly, but not overly pushy, helps with the sales. Nothing worse than walking into a booth and being greeted by a dead fish!!!
  5. I'm having an open house (first ever) in October and will definitely be offering Christmas fragrances then.
  6. I plan to group my fragrances this year as well. Last year was my first craft fair and although I did well in sales, I didn't categorize my fragrances and it caused some problems. I, too, noticed that people took too long find their favorite fragrance if they had to dig through every one of them to locate the type they liked. People who have to wait to reach your booth because someone else is taking up space sniffing away at every fragrance or rooting to find what they want will eventually give up trying to reach you and walk away.
  7. What a wonderful way to market your product. Congratulations on hitting on a great idea! :highfive:
  8. Ebarnes, enjoy yourself at your show! I did my first show last year and I had a great time! I didn't know what to expect, but I did pretty decent in sales. Above all, though, I just really enjoyed meeting other crafters and talking with customers about something I truly love to do! I think if you are confident in your product and love what you do, the customers will see that and take interest. Best of luck to you!!!
  9. I make and use them as well. I use hamster litter, leftover wax and pour them into paper cups. Then I top them with a little cheap potpourri to make them look pretty and insert the parts of the wicks I trim off my candles so they can be lit easily. They work great. I sell quite a few in the winter months as well.
  10. When I read it, to me it means that if you are going to store these candles to use during a power failure, you should store your book of matches in the jar. That way, when the power goes out, the matches are readily available.
  11. I just keep mine in the box they came in and pull them out one at a time. That way they're not sliding all over.
  12. I love the orange clove I got from Candle Cocoon (a Scent Event FO). I use it in candles and it has a great hot throw. I think it has just the right mix of orange and clove.
  13. Oh, the memories! When I think of my Grandma's house, I think of MacIntosh apples (stored in her basement) mixed with the scent of Grandpa's pipe tobacco. I need to work on a candle like that ... just for me!! :smiley2:
  14. I am coloring mine burgundy. This will be my first year selling this fragrance, but the reviews I have received from friends, family and testers is a BIG thumbs up!!
  15. I have never done this but I say GO FOR IT! The reporter will have plenty of questions for you and will edit your answers to make them "print-worthy." It will bring you lots of exposure and hopefully many more sales! Congratulations!!
  16. Holy moly, those pumpkin ones are to die for! I need to visit my Dollar Tree.
  17. I think it's very elegant looking. BTW, the name is GREAT!!! Sounds very upscale!!!
  18. My labels state, "Quality Hand-Poured Soy Candle."
  19. I've never smelled Hayride. What exactly is the scent description for this FO? I was trying to find it on Bittercreek North (is that what BCN is?) but could not find it.
  20. I thought I'd take a break from pouring over the holiday weekend but the orders keep coming in. That's a good thing. Fall is definitely in the air! I love this time of year!!! Good luck to all who have fairs this weekend and have a great expanded holiday weekend!!!
  21. The apron is really cute, but the model steals the show! She's just precious!!!
  22. Your products are so unique and realistic looking! I think your website is very nice. The "flying rooster" even kind of grows on you after a while. Nice job!!
