  1. Hi I use to have a an excel page that I got off the internet or someone gave it too me (I can't remember) it was a long time ago, that would compute the amount of FO to put in desired amount of wax and you would put the % you wanted. You just plugged in the #'s and poof you had the answer instead of having to do the math. My computer crash awhile back and I lost it. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, can you direct me to it or send it to me via email to rschiller2 @ wi.rr.com. A million thank you Sandy~WI
  2. this is the recipe I go by and it will fill 5 of the 4oz aluminium bottles ( I use the aluminium because the mixture ends up being white) 12 oz distilled water 4 oz witch hazel 2 oz FO 2 os polysorbate 20 mix the FO and polysorbate 20 together then add to the water/witch hazel mix. You can use alittle less FO if it's a really strong scent but make sure you use the same amount polysorbate 20 as you are using of FO HTH Sandy~WI
  3. I make room spray using distilled water, witch hazel and then I also mix poly-20 with equal part of FO so it will mix better with the above solution, maybe that might help incorporate the FO into the mix, it does for me and I don't smell the WH at all. Sandy~WI
  4. WOOHOO just ordered the TOG 6/12 Bar Mini Divider Slab Mold, can't wait to try it out! I was going to wait til the co-op but I'm too impatient LOL. So far I've only used log molds so now we'll see if I can make some purty swirls like everyone one here using the slab mold, and I can't wait to try one with a liner because I hate lining the molds myself. Now I'll have my nose pressed up against the window waiting for it to arrive LOL Sandy~WI
  5. Here's the link to BCN's kit...it's the same one I got too for my first attempt at CP Soap http://secure.candlesupply.com/catalog_page_detail.cfm?queries_index=index7&title_bar=CP%20Soapmaking%20Starter%20Kit&recordno=4&Product_CatalogID=2887&ProductCodeID=76&ProductSubCodeID=249&NewProduct=0
  6. All of these stories are so funny...I start breakin into a cold sweat when I know a package is being delivered and hubby decided to take a vacation day or he get's home early LOL. He would have a heart attack if he really knew how much money I spend. I even have my 14 yr old son trained to put the packages down in my candle room if there is one sitting by the door when he gets home from school so my husband doesn't see it LOL. Sandy~WI
  7. Thank you everyone for all the suggestions, I think I'll try NG since I have a few things to order from there! Sandy~WI
  8. who has the best dupe of this? I've never smelt this before and I have a customer asking if I can get this for her. I'm hoping I'll get a few different responses and one will be with a supplier I already use :undecided One can wish right? LOL TIA Sandy~WI
  9. I seen that also and had it in my cart today and then decided not to get it and then later I was reading the BC message board and someone on there had said they tested it out and that their Pink Sugar soap was still white and pink so now I'm mad at myself for taking it out of my shopping cart I'll have to make sure I get some on my next order. Sandy~WI
  10. I was looking over their site and was thinking about ordering some bulk oils and butters for CP soap making but am also thinking about trying some of the recipes here on CT for things like scrubs and stuff. My question is...what is the difference between an oil that says "cosmetic grade" and the one that doesnt? Which one would I want when it comes to making the above mentioned? I usually order my oils from BCN but I was checking it out and I could order 7lb bottles for less and the shipping is relatively low since they are not to far from me Any help is appreciated Thank you Sandy~WI
  11. I use soy to dip mine but I do a 50/50 with container and votive soy wax because the container wax alone seemed to soft and the votive wax alone was a bit brittle so I tried 50/50 of each and it was perfect for me. HTH Sandy~WI
  12. Hi Someone asked me to make some cp soap with just oatmeal and honey in it with no FO. I wanted to make a small test batch to see how it will turn out but have no idea how much honey to add per lb of soap and do I add it at trace? or in with the oils before I mix in the lye? Any help is soooo appreciated TIA Sandy~WI
  13. I use soy (C-3 )and Autumn Spice blows me out the door at 1 oz per lb! I ended up renaming it Country Spice after last season and it sells really good, it's a good critter dippin scent too! It use to be one of my favorite scents until I had to dip a million critters in it last Christmas and now I can't stand making that one but I still do because it sells very well. I tried Harvest Moon but that one was weak in my wax. The other one I have yet to try. HTH Sandy~WI
  14. Your soap looks sooooo awesome! Now I have Black Oxide on my future shopping list! I made Nag Champa recently and had never smelt it before I decided to buy some and then was stumped for a color so I did red and purple swirls but now I have to try the black! Two thumbs up on your soap:thumbsup: ! Sandy~WI
  15. Your swirls look so delicately done, nice job! Sandy~WI

  17. They all look great! I too love the deep green colors! Sandy~WI
  18. Congrats on your candle making! I use to break my thermometers all the time and ended up geting the digital metal one, I think I paid maybe 10-12 bucks for it at Walmart but in the long run you'll save money because you won't be constantly replacing it like the glass candy thermometers. Just a thought for ya! Wishing you the best of burns and the smellest candles Sandy~WI
