  1. I have only tried Dr. Feelgood so far and it throws nice in my C-3 at 1 1/2 oz per lb. Sandy~WI
  2. Renee I just poured this a few days ago in C-3 at 1 1/2 oz per lb and was wondering how long you let yours cure before you get a good hot throw. I have been trying my hardest not to burn it yet so it cures enough. I guess I am hoping you'll say 3 days and dreading that you'll say 2 weeks LOL TIA Sandy~WI
  3. Indy I think you do not have enough FO added. I use 4 tbs.beads to 1 tbs FO . If you are using 1 cup beads I would believe you should be using 1/4 cup FO. It may take a day for all the FO to be soaked up in the beads or maybe even two weeks depending on the FO. HTH Sandy~WI
  4. Hi I use my left over wax for these! I use a cupcake liner and hamster(pine)bedding I pick up at Wally World for like $1.84 and use the left over wicks that I trim off my candles when I make them. You put the liners in a cupcake pan, fill with the pine bedding (or saw dust if you or someone else may be a wood craftin' kind of person) and fill the liners about 1/2-3/4 full pour your wax over them and put the left over wick (no tab) in it (i just lay mine in there, no centering or any of that) and I top mine off with a tiny pinecone that I find by my moms house (FREE) and you have a firestarter which then you light the wick and set in your firepit outside or in the fireplace and it lights the logs for ya and it smells good too but you just have to make sure that people you give them to know that they are NOT A CANDLE!!! Some people make them without the wick and you just peel down some of the liner and light! Sandy~WI
  5. Hi I was just wondering what you put for a warning on firestarter labels I just want to make sure I don't miss anything. I just made my first ones last night and tried one in the fire pit outside today and it worked awesome and smelled really good too!!! I think my hubby was impressed too so I told him when he goes up north deer hunting in two weeks he has to bring some up to show the guys. (my husband is the "throw some gas on the wood in the pit and POOF we have a fire) so maybe this will deter him from doing that now! LOL Sandy~WI
  6. Hi I bought some jars and crystals from NG, don't know if they are the cheapest or not. I just thought I'd try it but it wasn't for me, but if your interested I have 11 -12oz jars with lids and cystals that I don't plan on using. If your interested email me! Sandy~WI
  7. Hi I have not yet made any loafs yet but I did see on BCN site they have oval Antique finish candle plates (tin) that measure 8 1/2" long by 4 3/4" wide. Don't know if maybe that would be something to use. You can find them under "Accessories" and then "tinware" HTH Sandy~WI
  8. This site has those but now when I went to look they dont show the pic just the style # ( they did have the pic of each shoe on this site before and right now I just quick looked but maybe if you surf around on it you might find it) http://www.scentoils.com/default.asp Sandy~WI
  9. Maliki Does pouring at 170-180 help with minimizing frost? And what temp do you add you FO at? I usually add FO around 175-185 and pour around 145-155 but am having a wicked time trying to minimize frosting in some of my colors, lavender is the worst for me. And I am always worried about add FO at too high of a temp TIA Sandy~WI
  10. I have a question also about the chunks. Can you make container chunk candles with Soy? and if so would you make the chunks out of container wax or votive wax? ( I use C-3 container wax and V-1 votive wax ) TIA Sandy~WI
  11. Peachesdeese I know what you mean. I would love to get in on some of the co-ops but from what I have gathered you have to be registered for at least 30 days before you can view that area. If I am wrong please let me know because I was going crazy trying to figure out why it wouldnt let me view that So I guess I wait:sad2: Sandy~WI
  12. I just recieved an order the other day and I also was impressed with the quality! Sometimes it's hard to really know what something is going to look like in person when you see a photograph and I will definately be ordering from them again soon!! I also ended up getting the "discontinued" on a few of some cute tart burner...I was bummed...I really wanted some of those black stove/oven ones and that was was discontinued Have you ever ordered from Levine and if so what do you think of theirs? Sandy~WI
  13. Those are all beautiful! I expecially love the black one! I want one!!!!!! Sandy~WI
  14. Hi MissyK Can I ask, do you use Peak's FOs at 1 oz per lb or 1 1/2 oz per lb. I have checked out their website a few times and they state 1/2 oz per lb but wasnt sure if they have some really strong oils that 1/2 oz per lb would really be any type of scent throw...there are so many places to get FO's from that it becomes over whelming Any more FO's you might recommend from Peaks? I think I might order me a hand full of scents to try...any unique or different FO's that throw awsome? Thanks Sandy~WI
  15. I started out by going to candle party and thought WOW I'd like to give this a try and of course I did and now have been testing since March and believe me there was a time when I was ready to give up and then like a few days later I tested a candle and it was PERFECT well ok nothing is ever perfect but I was so excited that it gave me the little nudge to keep going and so far so good. I love making candles but would like to someday make a side job out of it so when I get frustrated I just think about all the great candles I made so far! The down side is my husband thinks I spend too much money on it but he doesnt even have a "real" clue of how much I spend :lipsrseal LOL Sandy~WI
  16. Hi I'm looking for a coffee/cappacino FO that throws strong in C-3 I also use eco wicks, I've tried a few with no luck. with any suggestion can you let me know if you use them at 1 oz per lb or 1 1/2oz per lb Thank you for any suggestions Sandy
  17. Hi I am new to this board and was doing a search for FO's that work well with C-3. I also use Eco wicks. Any one have some suggestions for super strong throwing JS FO's for the holidays? I have never ordered from there before and would like to give them a try but was hoping someone using C-3 and Eco's could throw me some suggestions. And how long do you usually let their scents cure for? TIA Sandy~WI
