  2. You're welcome;) There's a lot of information on this board. I don't know about you, but my brain can only take in so much at a time. So I read, do, then read some more.
  3. www.specialtybottles.com is in Seattle.
  4. Read this http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60824 it will give you the starting point.
  5. Thank you for your answers. I have been doing some more searching on google. I think I will just tie the charm to the package. I don't want any problems of any kind.
  6. Can I embed pewter and gold finished charms in m&p soap? I did a search...all I found was the treasure candles. I'm thinking it would be the same idea.
  7. I use lx 20 in the flower pot votive with soy and palm wax.

  11. I have a wagoner heat gun from Sears. Works alot better than a hair dryer.
  12. Shea butter and Coconut Oil are my favorites for dry skin.
  13. I add about 1/2 T. coconut oil, and 1 T. stearic acid to a pound of m&p base. The bars are harder and lots of lather. I just put everything in my pyrex measuring cup and microwave it for 1 minute...stir...microwave for another minute. If I remember to put saran wrap over the cup before melting...it melts faster. Putting saran wrap over the cup helps keep the moisture in the soap base.
  14. I keep my shea butter in the freezer. I pull it out the day before I want to use it. Haven't had any problems doing that.
  15. Don't be scared to use your presto pot. I have 3 of them...wouldn't be without them. Put your wax in the pot, set it to warm, let the wax melt. Use your thermometer to make sure the temp is correct. I use a ladle or just pour from the presto pot into my pour pot (4 cup pyrex measuring cup). I leave the left over wax that is melted in my presto pot. Next time I want to use that wax, I just plug my presto pot back in and remelt it. Just like cooking on a stove...you have to keep a watch on the wax as it melts.
  16. Thanks everyone. I put the nt wt on my label, so now I have everything to make some more and get them to the store that I am in to sell.
  17. I just started to make lotion/cream and soap to sell. The lotion starts with a boughten base, then I add shea butter, jojoba oil, coconut oil, stearic acid, color, and fragrance oil. Also a little preservative...just because I know I've went over the allowed additives for the preservative in the lotion base. I've been making bath and body products for myself for 3 years. I've learned alot in that time. Sometimes not all of them are added to the same batch. The soap is a low sweat cp like mp. I add coconut oil and stearic acid, coloring and fragrance oil. Lots of creamy lather. Even the clear base lathers really well. It was total accident on the color of the lotion matching the cap on the bottle. I did write down how much of what I put in...so I can duplicate it. It's a good thing these are for the girls at the bank...I forgot to put the nt.wt. on the label. Gotta fix that for next time. Thanks for looking.
  18. Good job on your first:yay: The more you make, your creativity will come out.
  19. Nice job. :highfive: M&P is fun. Lots of information on this board and the Internet about different things to do with it. I just recently got back into it also.
  20. This is the base that I just started to use again. I'm adding 1/2 tsp. coconut oil, and 1 tsp. of stearic acid. This is per pound of melted base. I was reading that the co helps with lather, and the stearic acid helps to make a harder bar. My bars are not as soft as I remember them being. I get lots of lather also.
