  1. If you also have a hobby store that sells radio controlled airplanes they will have them too. Those also usually have more temp control on them too.
  2. which Presto pot it is everyone is talking about. Is it this one? http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3175 or this one? http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=888144
  3. I understand that most people are using small digital scales to measure the fo. But what are you using to transfer the fo to the scal when you just need small amounts. Are you using some kind of pipette or eye droper?
  4. I've been reading that you don't want to melt wax with a gas stove. Since I have a gas stove how do I go about melting wax? Do I need to buy some kind of hot plate or something.
  5. Hello all, I have never tried to make any candles before been wanting to give it a try for a while. Been reading this forum off and on for awhile. I am wanting to make container and some votives. What overwhelms me the most is trying to figure out what kind of wick to use. I was wondering if it would be better for me to get a kit from candlewic instead of buying everything from scratch first just to see how I like it. I've seen many posts recomending what wick to use with a certain wax. But is their anything out there to give a general guideline why a certain wick works better than XYZ wick or behavior charitoristics ect. Thankx
  6. Hello everyone I'm new here. I am thinking of giving candle making a try to pass some of the boring winter months here in snowville. I am thinking of ordering one of those container candle kits from this place. http://www.candlewic.com/store/Product.aspx?q=cKits,p792 I was wanting to order some extra wax and wicks too. This is where I am a little confused. Can someone point me to a good reference or recomend a good book. I mean how do you know what kind of wax to use when or what kind of wicks to use. Reading thru this boad for me is like reading a forien language. Everyone is talking about was 1235 and wick 12-34-56 having a hard time making sense of it all. Would appreciate any input. Thankx
