  1. Mystical wrote: "Eco Posh" !~! I think that your logo is so damn cute, very trendy. Thanks for the compliment Mystical but it was Beckie from Studio Beck Designs who came up with that tasty piece of work!
  2. hmmm....then maybe that is the same batch that I have been using for the last couple of months because I have found a difference in the scent throw with advanced and other soy waxes. I have had no problems with frosting or wet spots and no craters yet...if you don't mind what wax are you using now!:smiley2:
  3. Ok...I have been testing, testing and testing trying to find the best FO's for Ecosoya Advanced...AKA "hard to get a scent throw wax" This is what I have come up with so far... Lavender Apples & Oak....AH Blackberry Jam Butter Cookies....DS Flannel Sheets...AH Grasshopper pie...AH Celtic Moon Spice....AH Iced Cinnamon Buns...NG Blueberry Muffins...NG Pumpkin Crunch Cake...NG Ocean Mist...NG Monkey Farts...NG Hey Hey Cute Cabana Boy...DS Passionate Kisses...NG Desire...NG Black Raspberry Vanilla...NG Caramel Cinnamon Latte...JS Vanilla Buttercream Crunch...JS Strawberry Preserves...AH 7-up Pound Cake...NG ....I'm still testing but will let you keep you posted. If anyone else has any others that have worked well for them in this wax please feel free to add to this list.
  4. I haven't tried those but "Marshmellow Campfire" from Alabaster is really nice!
  5. That is so cool... I wish I knew how he did that...I have had so many pictures and verbage taken from my Real Estate website its not even funny. I called the company that I got my site from and they were unable to do anything like that. :embarasse
  6. Good luck everyone with your fairs and orders...I can't wait until I'm ready for a fair or craft show. I guess I will miss the season this year but I will kick butt next year. I'm going to be working on wicking and scenting Ecosoy Advanced for the next 6 months or until I get it right!
  7. Hi everyone, I just spoke to Dan today at Natures Gifts Inc...and he also suggested trying the RRD's and CD's he also said no core wicks for this wax and it could also be that the FO may not be compatable with my current wick which he said I needed to wick down. So just wanted to pass along some helpful info and I will be trying some different wicks as soon as I get them. HTH
  8. lol...that is such a cute and funny story:laugh2:...I give you credit for your attempt it really does not look that bad at all...I have not even considerd making a pillar yet and I'm sure when I do it will leave a lot to be desired.
  9. Try this company...I never purchased from them so I don't know how good their shipping and pricing is but I do know they have metal tins. Metal Tins, Deep Tins with Rolled Edge Covers HTH:wink2:
  10. Thanks Creekside... I never tried RRD's I'm going to order them today and see if they will make a difference...for some reason Candlescience did not recomend them for Ecosoy Advanced. Luci...keep us posted on how you are making out with the storm...I certainly know what you are going through having been through 5 hurricanes in the last few years. It sounds like you are right on the water...I'm about 8 miles inland.
  11. Yikes...he sure is a persistant storm...hope it is not bad for you! As far as the Eco Advanced is concerned I have not had a problem yet with wet spots, frost or craters that is why I want to use this wax, it seems to make a very pretty candle. I heat it 175 add color and FO and I dropped my pour temp from 130 to 115 and have not had any cosmetic problems. I am having a heck of a time wicking this wax...can't seem to get it right!
  12. Ahh...you must be expecting Ernesto...he just left me front door yesterday...turned out to be a dud for us so I hope the same for you. Keep me updated on your Eco Advanced experience...I really want to use this as my main wax if I can work the scent kinks out of it.
  13. cute cute cute...I like the rooster
  14. Thanks everyone for your suggestions...this can be very frustrating at times. I did wick up and then my candle was burning way to fast...I'm using a 10oz bulb so I don't know, maybe it is the shape...who knows...will keep trying. Luci...how do you like using the Eco Advanced...how is the scent throw working for you. I love this wax but I'm trying to get a better scent throw out of it.
  15. Great...thanks everyone...I have some Cinnamon and Spice I will toss in there over the weekend and see if that works! :smiley2:
  16. Ok...I'm really starting to get frustrated...why do my candles die half way down. It seems that the first burn is really nice...then when I go for the second burn it starts to die and tunnel. Using Eco Advanced with HTP's 1212 and HTP 104 for a 3-3.5 diamiter. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated....:embarasse
  17. I have used the EL Millenium before...as a matter of fact I do like the wax. I enjoy the pastille form, makes it easy to work with and one of the reason I decided to try it was that it is close to me and shipping is cut in half. However with that being said I find that it is much like the other soy waxes in that you still get wet spots and frosting as well as craters so it is just a matter of working with it and fine tuning it to your advantage, in other words...test test test and take notes. HTH
  18. I have not tried that one...but I did order a sample of Campfire Marshmellow from Alabaster. I love it...first smell is more sweet marshmellow smell then I can faintly pick up on the campfire scent. Very different and may be a good one for fall.:smiley2:
  19. I went to Michaels the other day and got those foamy stickums and put into the keepsake jar.
  20. I made several test candles with NG's Balsam hoping to spark the christmas spirit in my friends and family who have kindly volunteerd to by my testers. Well being the nice honest people that they are they all said it smelled like Pine Sol and would not buy a candle with that smell:shocked2: Now what...can I mix this FO with something else to make it smell better? Any suggestions would be appreciated or if anyone knows of a great smelling pine that does not invoke memories of house cleaning!
  21. lol....I just orderd a sample of Vanilla Vodoo because I like the name...but I have no clue yet what it smells like.
  22. Lime....there is a lot of good advice here, take time to search this forum you will find so much knowlege...it is priceless. I'm new at this also and I have spent a small fortune so far trying to figure out how to make a freaking 10oz bulb jar look pretty and smell good in soy wax and still after 6 weeks on this one jar I do not have it the way I want. So patience and persistence are good attributes to have. I noticed you were from Singapore...how are the suppliers over there? :smiley2:
  23. Very Nice...I like the colors:wink2:
