  1. Thanks Candleman...we are becoming real pros down here...went through 3 hurricanes last year and 1 the year before...I'm all set with a natural gas generater so I can still make candles in the storm...lol. Have enough test candles to keep the neighbors happy for weeks should they need them!
  2. I'm looking for more exotic type of FOs like Asian, Bamboo, Green Tea combos and blends...does anyone know who would have more of this type of FO? Thanks
  3. I'm so excited about this sale but I'm affraid to order anything right now due to Hurricane Ernesto heading right for my front door.:embarasse I don't want them to get stuck somewhere and sit in the heat.
  4. Those are beautiful...I love the pattern in the wax:wink2:
  5. I agree...that is why I'm hoping that the hot throw is not really enough to make someone want to return it. So far I have noticed that some FO's are not as strong but some are...maybe it is just a matter of finding the best FO's for this wax. This may limit the FO selection but I don't think offering a ton of different scents is necessarily a good thing. Would rather have quality then quantity...has anyone else noticed that much of a dimished hot throw?
  6. Yes...this seems to be the thorn in my side....Pretty Candle or Smelly Candle? I want it both ways...but I must say a pretty candle would attract my attention and it does have a nice cold throw...is the hot throw really off that much that it is a problem?
  7. I started out with a HTP 1212 and I noticed that I had a full melt pool in about 1 hour plus my hot throw was gone about half way through the burn. I guess I was burning the FO out of the candle before the wax could catch up to it. So I wicked down to HTP 104 and that seems to have improved quality of the hot throw somewhat. I'm just really excited about this wax because it makes such a pretty candle. When selling a candle what comes first..."the appearance or the FO"... I'm using RE, JS,NG and DS FO's so I know they are good quality. Darn it I want it all...a pretty candle that smells good..
  8. I have never tried Tonys FO's they seem a little more pricey then other places...are they better quality or are they just more expensive.
  9. lol...I know what you mean...I have spent a small fortune on my new addiction and it is only getting worse...I think there should be a Candleholics Anonymous thread on here to help us with withdrawls when we run out of money
  10. I have read previous post on Eco Soy Advanced but I wanted to say that I just started testing with this wax and it make the prettiest darn soy candle I have ever seen. Wet spots...have not had one yet....Frosting...not here...Melt Pool....beautiful...HotThrow...now that is my only issue, I have not noticed a dimished cold throw but I'm still not sure about the hot throw..some scents seem to be less then in other soy wax I have tried and some seem to be the same...anyone thoughts or suggestions on how to increase the hot throw in this wax?
  11. wow...I'm going to need insurance soon also...those rates sound amazing...I live in S.Florida and I'm lucky to even have insurance on my home and that is already over $2500 for the year...I would hate to see what would happen if I need additional insurance....
  12. I can't remember the name of the candle line right now but I have seen the candles with the wood wicks at Craker Barrel and they were a lot less expensive...I think I'm going to buy one just to see how the wick burns.
  13. I just started testing with Eco Advanced and I love love love this wax, IMO it has to be the prettiest soy wax I have ever seen. So far I have poured about 6 10oz jars and have had no wet spots, sink holes or craters, tops come out smooth as a babys butt and takes nicely to color. I just burned 2 of my jars within 24 hours of testing and I'm getting a great hot throw and great smooth top after burn. BTW I use NG, JS and Daystar scents and they all seem to be working very well. I think this wax may be my salvation in soy...I can't wait to try them in a week to see if they are even better... BTW...I have also had great luck with Enchanted-Lite Millenium blend...just not as pretty as the Eco and since I'm looking to sell I think first appearance is really important.
  14. Buster...don't give up...I'm new also, I have spent a small fortune and have even considered a second job to support my addiction but thank goodness I have actually sold some of my candles to sympathetic friends and family which was very nice of them. Just keep trying, take good notes, you will eventually get a candle that will meet your criteria.
  15. No...the color wheel will not tell you how much to mix together...you will just have to experiment until you get the desired color...remember adding darker colors will shade you color and adding lighter colors will tint your color. I also do some painting with water colors occasionaly and I have found that if I pull out my water color paints and mix them I can get a good idea of what colors I will get but this is only a reference point. HTH
  16. Aroma Haven: Hey Hey Cute Cabana boy Coconut Pear ....very very similar!
  17. Passionate kisses in soy wax...have not test burned yet but has a great cold throw!
  18. ...JMO...but purple is a mix of Red and Blue so these two colors mixed together will with get you a different shade of purple. Pink is Red mixed with white...so I would just add a small amount of red to the wax and you should end up with pink. I'm not sure about mauve, do you have a color wheel? I find this to be very handy when trying to mix colors.
  19. I did not like the Blackberry Jam Butter Cookies OOB...It was really strong...I just poured it yesterday in GW444, I hope that tames it a bit. :undecided
  20. BTW...which ones did you order!
  21. I have never used their FO's so I'm looking forward to your review, I do use the Enchanted-Lights Millenium blend and I'm very happy with it.
  22. That is one very cool looking candle!
  23. I notice my candles look like that when I pour C-3 too cool...:undecided
  24. Very cute...love love love the logo and the jars....
