  1. TVG glass has those jars but the lid is a little different. It has a dome with or with out a handle in black, rust, or silver. I live not too far from them. If you call Phil he will send you a sample. Here is there # (315) 457-5277
  2. People never stop amazing me, I got 2 rude emails back from the infringer telling me off as if how dare I email her asking her to take it down.....How dare I? I published it in 2004 and she opened her site 3 1/2 months ago. I can't post emails because of board rules but basically she claims ... 1. A friend wrote it for her and she has no idea where this "friend" got it but she will get to the bottom of it. 2.All policies to tend to sound alike. (we are talking paragraph for paragraph she didn't even bother to change the order or try to change one word with exception of her taking my name out and replacing it with her own) 3. I need to get my facts straight and not threaten people before I know the facts, meaning how dare I email her and not the mystery friend (I am sorry I didn't know a friend was responsible for the contents HER site), 4. She is not new to this biz, although it shows her site opening in Nov 2008 she REALLY has been doing this since 2001 and I need to keep my high and mighty "bullshit" to myself. (sorry for the curse it was her words) 5. I don't need to feel threatened by her or her business. (LOL ya okay, it is the principal) All I did was email and tell her she copied my copyrighted work word for word, paragraph for paragraph and she has 24 hours to take it down or change it. In hind site maybe my inital email could have had a nicer tone to it and not so harsh and to the point. But still no matter which way you slice it I am in the right. She stole from me and I have every right to be angry. Update: I checked it again and she did end up taking it down and rewrote it which I appreciate.
  3. Found someone today that not only had the nerve to copy from my site word for word but had the audacity to copy my copyright blurb at the bottom of my work. I have it where you can't copy and paste so she had to view the source to grab all the text. I emailed the copyright infringer and her host today, the infringer still has my work up and her host wants something from a judge to do anything about it. LOL I am beginning to think I wasted my money copyrighting my site because it stops no one! Trademarks, copyrights why get them? Do you know how many new oils I could have bought with that money!
  4. Good Morning. I just copied this from another thread that I answered around Christmas about wax consistencies. The issue is your wax probably came from a different IGI plant. You will always see significant differences between the Texas, IL, Pa and Canada plants. The recipe is "supposed" to be the exact same but it is not. They all get their raw materials from different parts of the country therefore the end product will be slightly different. If you call them about it I guarantee that they will tell you to send a sample for them to test and it will come back with the result that it's with-in specs, which I might add you could drive a truck through.LOL HTH I see differences batch to batch sometimes too and you never know what batch the slabs you bought were came from or how old they were. Candlescience also gets their 4630 from Canada and so far I have had the butter type batches.
  5. Does anyone know where else to find the electric 24 watt coffee cup tart warmers? I used to get them from Crazy Mountain but they are gone and they are not restocking them. I have seen the same type on other sites that say "home sweet home" but after days of searching I can't find them anywhere. TIA
  6. I have been on a maple hunt for the past month so maybe I can help. Backwoods Maple sugar is the most authentic by far, it smells exactly like mrs Butterworth. Very good throw but not blow the doors off. CS is great and the owner is a sweetheart. Tennessee is a good deep rich kick but strong maple syrup, probably the strongest I have tried. I use both TN and BW now for blending. Their caramel corn is the best buttery caramel on the planet if you go with them so you have to pick that up too. NG - smells like maple and cake but not syrup in the application but OOB pretty good. ICS-Snowtop- good one and I have used it for years, but I have found that TN is better in my wax blends. Defiantly stronger and cheaper. KY I couldn't tell you but if you are shopping there and can't just get one oil like me, I just got in their Cornbread and Vanilla butter fudge in yesterday. Neither smell like the names or descriptions but the CB is good white bread and the VBF is a nutty vanillaish bakery aroma. I have a maple coming in from Candlesoylutions today so I can let you know what I think of that one when I get it in wax.
  7. Those babies were made for me and I have to say I am in love with them. They held up perfect in shipping too- frosting and all. Almost too beautiful to melt but once you do your hooked. You feel such a difference over just plain bath bombs! I don't know what the frosting is but it's wonderful in the tub. When I got them I could not get over how real they looked. I mean if you put a real cupcake next to it you would have to look twice. She made me scrubs too that I can't live without and bath sundaes for my kids. I wish I took a picture of those they were so adorable!
  8. I got an email today regarding the charge back I filed with paypal and I won, I am getting $17.95 back for the missing oil.
  9. What would be a reasonable offer for the business? I am considering making an offer but I don't want to offend anyone and be too low or make an offer too high with out knowing what it is worth. How does it work? Do you ask for P and L statements before you make an offer?
  10. "But if Kathy packed them right, and you did not insure them, it is not her fault. She does not employ the Post Office people. Ya know? " If you refer to my original post, Kathy didn't pack them right so it is her fault regardless. No carrier UPS DHL FedEx would honor that claim due to her packaging. A few pennies in shipping material goes a long way and could have avoided this. There is no reason for an oil to simply fall out of a box in transit.
  11. Thanks carol I will. dirtybirdsoaps did you try the coconut curry custard and if so what did you think of it? I am excited to try it because it just sounded interesting.
  12. Thank you all very much for your responses. I appreciate it. I am going to check the ones you mentioned. I have to place another order with Candlescience and Millcreek anyway so I will grab the strawberry and CNC sample while I am there. Last night just for the heck of it I ordered a few samples from Backwoods, this is my first purchase with them and they already shipped it out which is great. Then I headed over to Tennessee and grabbed a few samples from them too just to see. I have tried TCS Peanut Butter Cookie in the past and didn't care for it, Millcreek had a pretty good one but the ST one was stronger. I use most of these for mixing so I am sure I can figure something out. How about the pumpkin pie filling? It smells just like a can of pumpkin, no crust or anything. Does anyone know of one? Thank you again.
  13. I picked up DPG, Olive oil and Soy oil from BC and honestly they are perform the same with a 50/50 ratio. They are pretty cheap I think the OO and Soy was 3 dollars a pound or something like that. Just a side note -When I test new scents now just to see if I like them first before I waste the wax, I use a piplet and add a few drops of fo and soy oil to the tart burner and try it out. If it passes, then I move on to the tarts and candles to test. It is fast, I just wipe out the dish and I weed out allot of oils that way rather than have hundreds of test tarts that end up getting trashed. I wanted to try the coconut oil but that is a solid at room temp so that would not work for simmering oils unless it comes in a liquid too.
  14. I am in Upstate NY and it was 12 degrees here yesterday. I am lucky the self stick shipping labels stick:shocked2: I use the PM boxes sometimes and I always tape the flap just because I thought it was common sense. Maybe in a warmer climate they stick better? I don't know.
  15. I can't get in to post this in the Fragrance section so I am sorry for posting this here. In regards to my other post in the business section I need to buy the following oils somewhere else from now on. Can anyone please tell me who else has these oils that could replace to the ones listed below. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. 17. LisaW I understand your post completely and if I read an experience from someone else like this regarding this supplier, I may have not believed it myself. I have been her customer for years with out any issues. Kathy was always very fast shipping out orders, if I ordered it Monday it would be here Wednesday morning, the shipments were always accurate except for once in 4 years and she always answered emails with in hours. This situation is very disappointing to say the least. My pictures of the box stamped received unsealed, a written statement I will get from the post master if need be and email correspondence with her is all I need to prove I am telling the whole truth.
  18. I doubt she will make good on it as what would be the point? The damage is done and I will never order from her again. Not taking responsibility for poor packaging, blocking my email and throwing “slander” at me which does not even apply in this case pretty much sealed the deal. Her position was pretty clear but if anything my post may give her incentive to pack a little better for her other customers. I will just file a chargeback and be done with it. I am sure I can get something in writing from the postmaster to show the cc company the condition of the package and contents that were missing. What a way to start off the New Year! Up until now I would have been the first person to recommend her but after this nonsense –never again.
  19. I am very upset with the recent transaction between myself and ICS. I ordered 2 pounds of oil a few days ago. Yesterday it arrived in the mail and I received only 1 pound - no packing material and in a priority video box. The box was stamped by the post office "received unsealed" so apparently one of my oils that I paid 17.95 for fell out of the box in transit. My box is labeled at 3 lbs but only one oil inside? I know Kathy from doing business with her for years and know she would not lie about sending 2. I called the postmaster and they claim they retaped the box with priority mail tape because the flap was open when it arrived at their facility. I emailed Kathy with pictures and told her what happened and to my surprise she will take no responsibility for not properly securing the box and is claiming it is not her fault. Her words were" the box says nothing about taping after sealing" and what more can she be expected to do. UNREAL! In my opinion as a merchant it is common sense to tape a self stick flap for a box. Especially since the box is intended for an item that weighs much less than 3 pounds which is beside the point, but I guess the box needs to tell her to "tape here". So I am SOL and postal insurance (which I did not buy) would not cover it anyway because it is the shippers fault for not securing the package correctly. Verbatim from the postmaster himself. I accept responsibility for not purchasing insurance- but there is no reason for an oil to simply fall out of a box. If I took the box into the post office and showed him the package he would deny a claim instantly. No packing material, the bottle was in the box by itself unsealed with out tape around the top, no bag around the bottle incase of spillage which you have to have when shipping a liquid priority mail. Just a bottle of oil in a box. I emailed her back and forth understandably frustrated with the situation and told her I would tell everyone how she just treated a loyal customer of over 4 years. She threatened me with slander if I posted on any message board with out mentioning her store policy on her front page! Funny, if you want to hide behind a policy you have to follow it yourself and that includes following USPS shipping guidelines and secure the package correctly! She has now blocked my email. So to all that order from ICS she was one of my favorite suppliers but I will never spend another penny with her. CS totally downhill.
  20. Okay I looked it up on whois , The Candle Buzz owns it and it was Created on: 25-Jul-07 Did anyone ever hear of the candle buzz? I think that is a very cute name and cute site too.
  21. I have never heard of them until a few days ago but did get a solicitation email from this business a couple days ago. One sentence from the email was that they "sell out in hours of listing the boxes because of the huge following they have". I just deleted it. I am not a big fan of doing any sample boxes in general because IMO you don't know where they go, if they really sell as much as you gave, no feedback on the product you donated, and you usually don't know what else is in the box with your product. Some say they get nothing and it is a waste of time and product, Some say they love it and that is their main source of advertising. Let us know if you decide to donate to it and if it was successful.

  23. Astorlite V is a one pour, I have used it in the past with very good results.
  24. Does any one know where I can find something close to Snowtops version of key lime pie? I got the ST version from ICS and it smells totally different to me. TIA
