  1. CC's Mint Chocolate chip clearence oil is great too.
  2. I am thinking of buying ad space on candlefind. I know the whole site is changing because of the new site design and forum. I hope this ad has a good response. Does anyone have any experience advertising on this site and if so which section did you advertise on. Thanks in advance.
  3. Candlewic had a straight apricot that was identical.
  4. "We have had several clients state to us they did not agree to a particular contract and we had no signature to back it up from a very irresponsible sales person. So they got by without paying thousands after they got the advertising. Who are we supposed to believe an irresponsible sales person who might have just wanted extra money or the client who said they did not want it or might be trying to get out of a bill? " Not to get off track but this has happened to me before. Last year I got a phone call from some agency that represented the local police department, they told me that my husband pledged $200.00 and they wanted to know when we were planning to mail a check. I politely told them there was no way that my husband would pledge that amount of money to ANY organization. As a matter fact he never did nor even got the initial phone call even asking for money. Obviously this was some jack ass penciling in whatever dollar amount to get a commission. Can you believe that they threatened to send us to collections if I did not mail in the "donation" !!!! I lost my polite voice and told them to shove it. When I hung up on the guy my next call was to the local police department. I told them what the company that represented them tried to pull. I never heard another thing about it.
  5. I had the same issue when I used to use 223 years back. Only a few FO's did it no matter how little I used. It is not the wax it is the FO. Try adding a few grains of Vybar.. that usually keeps it in. Also should mention that if your climate has recently changed then that could have something to do with it too.
  6. The post office can and will hold a package, any package at random for up to 30 days in customs. I guess yours may have been one of the lucky ones. Maybe the guy was busy and just misplaced your order, it happens. But regardless that was very nice of him to make the mold for free and send it to you. Complaining about the small amount of additional shipping on a free mold is probably something you wouldn't want to do. He probably gave you the mold because at that point after two weeks if you wanted you could have filed an item not received dispute with ebay and he probably did not want bad feedback either. I don't understand the part where you say the mold is level but the soap is not. What shape was the mold of?

  8. When I do small batches of anything I use cheap paper cup cake liners for the extra wax. I always make a little extra no matter what I make so if I screw something up or if I have to do a repour I have exactly what I need and just enough with out re doing the project. The paper peels off really easy and I pop the little wax cupcake in a double broiler and re melt it and do the repour. What ever is left I use in my fire pit as a fire starter or give away to friends and they just melt it in their tart burners. I recently found the silicone cupcake liners and those things are great. Nothing sticks to them and you can reuse them over and over. They don't hold the fragrance either. I know that some people use old soup cans and such for repours too. Funky
  9. What application do you need the paraffin for? Container- KY, Votives- Makes scents candle supply or early american candle supply. Just be carefull with msc, I got a few cases of wax pellets that smelled like burnt plastic and they screwed me on it.Their policy is they do not take back open cases regardless and you have to pay return shipping even if it is defective.
  10. You should make 10 times what you paid for the table or more. So if you paid 15 for the table, a good show would have been $150.00 or more for the day. When I did shows I always did the bigger ones like the Apple or Harvest fests, my table fees were between $250-300 for the 2 days. I would walk away with $4,000 for two days of work. Over the years I've seen less and less so I stopped all together. Turn outs are not as good as they once were and people just are not spending like they used to. Regardless of how much you bring home you will have fun, get your name out there and meet alot of really nice people.
  11. I have a few signature scents, I blended Fo's and when I started selling more and more of those scents I just sent my blends in to a large manufacture and had them make me large batches. Saved alot of money that way especially since some of those blends required 4 different oils from 3-4 different suppliers and the shipping was killing me.To date I have about 75 custom blends and 200+ stock oils give or take. I rename and tweak just about everything so mine will hopefully be a little different than anothers. I do find that the name sells it.
  12. Can anyone else view their payment history or detailed account activity today? I think they may be updating or something because none of the links are working.
  13. Try TVG glass in Syracuse NY. You have to call to get the info for pricing etc. because it is not posted on the web site. Those jars you are talking about is the same exact thing TVG carrys and it comes with the lid at no additional cost.
  14. Ditto! What I paid 16.95 normal price for last season is now to 22+++ something per pound. I ONLY order when she has sales to off set the massive increase.
  15. I am 100% with sockmonkey here. You don't owe her an explanition either. Come on, Nothing wrong with the candles besides SHE says she doesn't like the look which sounds like total BS and 5 months to contact you about this. You can't return ANYTHING after 5 months, heck your lucky if you get 30 days. Stand your ground and don't go back and forth with her on this one or you will be swayed to give in to her. She had enough nerve to even ask something so stupid so be prepared for her to not accept your answer. Keep it short and sweet, no money back, don't even mention the frosting, that is not an issue or a defect. If she contacts you again about it after you tell her no just delete the email. Good Luck
  16. No, your right an email is not legal notice, but if the name is truely trademarked then it should come off C/D letter or no C/D letter. They even have a copy of the trademark certificate posted on the web site as well as a simpler version of the letter they sent to you. Knowing that it is trademarked then I think the respectfull thing to do would just be change the name instead of dealing with any drama from it.
  17. Having them mail you a letter should not make the difference. But if you want to make them waste a stamp them that is up to you. If it is a trade mark issue then I would just change the name and be done with it. You can easily get away with keeping the name and just add "type" to the end of it. Or instead of 9 have nine.
  18. I just wanted a little feedback on how many of us offer optional insurance on our websites for those that offer USPS as a shipping selection. Do you make the customer pay extra or do you cover the cost out of your own pocket? Do you not insure shipments at all and just take the gamble? And if you offer the ability to add insurance, if the customer did not purchase it and has a damaged shipment do you replace the broken products anyway? Last but not least how many of you take the customers word (only applying to USPS shipments) that there is damage? Do your require them to send back the goods or take it to the local post office regardless of insured or no insured for proof?
  19. As a matter of fact I was there last night and I sniffed them all. The vanilla was not even close to vanilla and the sweet treats was okay.I liked the pumpkin the best. They all seemed to have a weird underlying coco butter but not in a good way smell. I recall that smell from a wax I tested last year, it was a creamy palm wax from Indonesia or India that a supplier of mine was trying to unload. It only cost about 22 cents a pound.Once I melted it I understood why they were offering such a great deal..YUCK. I'll gladly pay more for my candles to smell like they were intended to smell with no underlying oder.
  20. How dumb am I? I thought you were talking about the candy:D I was going to chime in and say day star had a bit of honey that is pretty similar to mary janes. Not that mary jane though.
  21. I find that with JS you get some really great scents sometimes. But most of the time you get oils with great descriptions and outragous "throw" promises and they either smell the same as something else of hers or just don't live up to the description. JMO I like her Fizzy pop, Caramel Cinnamon Latte and Raspberry Vanilla Cream.
