  1. I'm such a "color ho"~I'd like to see a grouping of various colored glass jar candles just to get me . Makes me want to stop by your place next time I'm in the Springs! (I'm in Littleton~:rolleyes2 )
  2. Excellent Carrie~Another wonderful thing about this recipe is, you can go to (Super) Walmart and get all the ingredients! Stop off at Lowe's for your lye, and git bizzy.
  3. Even if the colors morphed, they are still beautiful colors!! Love that purple/turquoise blue!
  4. AWESOME!!!! :highfive: There are so many distracting things at pour time, so I line up what I'm adding at the end, near to where the pot is.(just have to be careful not too close or they chance getting knocked over!) When I want to remove some of the soap to color it, I have a pan on the stove that I've warmed, then put the soap in there (and hope for the best as everything is moving so quickly at that point!! ) I've found it's easier to color the soap that's in the crock pot and add back the removed soap as the uncolored portion. Kind of the opposite of CP swirling. Congratulations!! Can't wait to see it cut!
  5. Your recipe looks very nice. I like coconut at 20-25% Lard 25% and the rest is liquid oils (soy/corn/etc) and maybe some shea or bison tallow. Those in the pic, are all HP soaps in the MM~3lbs oils, cut 1-1.25"thick bars ~I get about 13 bars or so. Have fun!!!
  6. Aren't they superfatted quite a bit higher than regular bars? Your recipe looks like average 5% superfatting, but I've noticed others doing 13-15%. Carol? what are yours done at?
  7. I do 3lb HP to fill 1 cavity. You don't want to go over 4lbs in the crock pot or you'll overflow. I mark off and cut the bars just over 1 inch thick~you get about a 4oz bar that way. Line it with freezer paper and just grease the ends with either mineral oil or petroleum jelly, as they don't saponify. These are from a Martha Mold.
  8. Gads!! You've been a busy gal! Everything looks so inviting and appealing.
  9. Yum, Yum, Yum and .......Yum!!!!
  10. Your beautiful soap is even more so with your professional finishing! :highfive:
  11. No, you have it wrong~"sit and wait" Take one bar and immediately head for the shower. It won't last long, but how can you resist?!! LOL:yay: It's a good test as to the mildness of the bar, although they get better with age. Congrats on your first batch of HP:highfive: !!
  12. Yes, once you try "from scratch" soap, then's when the addiction gets really out of hand. Don't fight it, Just Soap! I have many addictions: Soap Slut~and the associated FOHO Yarn Freak Fabric Ho Bead Whore It's all good:p
  13. As soon as the soap is cooled and firm (few hours) you can unmold and cut. Ready to use, but letting them dry out for a couple weeks ,at least, will give you a harder longer lasting bar.
  14. Love the coloring~that's a gorgeous shade of blue!
  15. Do a search on this board~your questions have been covered numerous times, so you should find copious info on most of them. TONS of threads to research and read~regular goldmine, as well as HP instructions under "Bath & Body" on the left side menu. Best of luck on your first batch!
  16. Great colors for the scent~I love that scent too; so fresh.
  17. You could also gussy up the bars a bit by brushing on a bit of mica over the textured tops with a blush brush~give a golden shimmer or something pale like that.
  18. Ooooo pretty~I love that sparkle tulle. Yeah, next time you'll have to photograph the open box so we can see all the goodies!
  19. Holy Cow! that's some ambitious coloring! Wild~perfect for the scent name
  20. You got some great color with the turmeric! Show us when you slice it!
  21. Actually , the ash gives it a neat frosted look. They're all lovely! Yummy scents too.
  22. What beautiful baskets!! I'd be thrilled to be "jammed out" with your schtuffs!
  23. Thanks!:embarasse It's just a rubber stamp dipped in mica~LOL~whacked with rubber mallet. Probably overkill , but I wanted to try stamping something.:rolleyes2
