  1. Great thread!!! Making textured tops would be nice and also how to keep the embeds from bleeding...or two-toned soaps from bleeding into each layer. I'm currently trying to find a better colorant that won't bleed with M&P but haven't had much luck with responses.
  2. That's great news, Carole. I've made some palm wax pillars and LOVE them!
  3. I'm using Gel Tones. Well, it looks like I don't want to use Select Shades because the FAQ info on their site says that it's probable that it will bleed in M&P soap. For those who use M&P, what do you use to color that doesn't bleed? Anyone?
  4. When I make soaps that have more than one color, within a week the colors begin to bleed together and eventually all run together completely. They don't stay pretty. What a waste Is there a particular brand or type of colorant that doesn't do this? I'm using SFIC melt and pour soap base. Thanks for any help!
  5. Peach is one of my favorites and the closer to "real" it gets, the better. I've loved CandleScience's Peach FO and didn't think it got any better. Will have to try AGE's. Thanks for the post.
  6. I don't cover mine because the one time I did, I eneded up with wet spots. I wait until they're completely cooled (normally 24 hours) before putting a lid on.
  7. Gorgeous! I think palm wax makes such pretty candles! Your's look terrific!
  8. Beautiful candles! The chunk candle is my favorite...but the ball is really cool, too!
  9. Which BC carries the white chocolate FO? BCN or BCS? I can't find this FO anywhere. TIA
  10. I love BCN's Creme Brulee! It's got a smooth, buttery vanilla sort of note. I tried CandleScience's Creme Brulee and although I normally like every one of their FO's, their Creme Brulee had a toasted note I didn't care for.
  11. I burned CS's Peach today testing a palm wax pillar.
  12. Thanks for the helpful responses. I bumped the wick to a CSN-12. I like the look of the beautiful glow through the shell but I'm not sure if the shell should be even thinner than it is (about 1/4" now). I'll make a 2nd pillar and try a 14 wick to see which one works best. Along with it's beauty, I really like the feel of this wax! Thanks again for the great help!
  13. Beautiful! I love the colors you chose.
  14. Beautiful swirls!! It looks good enough to eat!
  15. This is Feather Palm wax from CandleScience, the pillar is 3 x 3-1/2 and I'm using CSN-11 wick. The first burn was 3 hours...then blew out and burned again later for 2-1/2 hours. The 'hole' is about 3/4" deep (as showing in the photos). Since this is my first Palm Wax pillar, I'm not sure if it's suppose to leave a thick shell like this. Can someone please advise? Should I wick up? Thanks much!
  16. I love rustics and yours are so pretty!!
  17. It's either not SFIC or someone remelted, added a gob of additives and then sprayed the heck out of it with alcohol (maybe to remove the bubbles?). Also, SFIC soaps are usually more 'rubber-like'...not 'soft'. I buy mine from Peaks.
  18. I 'second' their Strudel & Spice. It's an absolute favorite! I also like their: Peach (incredibly real!) Hansel & Gretel's House (awesome hot & cold throw!) Lavender Vanilla (one of my best sellers!) Rain Water (unique, refreshing scent!)
  19. I buy my Love Spell FO from CandleScience and it's one of my biggest sellers so keep it even though it gives me a headache every time I pour it. I, too, would like to know why people like it. Ugh!
  20. I admire your candles so much! They're so beautiful!!
