  1. Love Kayla's blog. It's easy to follow. She's posting Personal Care's opposition: http://essentialu.typepad.com/my_weblog/
  2. Ask the questions if you too. http://essentialu.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/07/qa-regarding-the-safe-cosmetics-act-2011.html
  3. Kayla has a Q & A going on her blog. Fascinating!
  4. Wrong. There was someone lobbying for us and the HMSG was helping to pay for them.
  5. Just tell them you will not disappointed in these candles. They are better than what you seek. (Unless, of course, they aren't. Then we gotta find something else to say.)
  6. One additive that may help might be the gloss poly c-15 at Candle Wic ... Keep in mind they are out of stock at the moment.
  7. You gotta combine it with someone else's patch (and for that you have to find a good patch out there.) Maybe combine it 1:1 or get some of the real patch EO and add it to that. If you do, that's going to be something you have to try out for yourself.
  8. You know, southern soapers never did dupes but she had the sakura. I don't remember her saying it was a dupe. I don't know if Denise is carrying it though.
  9. Guess I missed that thread. This is an old technique and there's a version out there that after you pour out the water and make sure the candle is dry, you pour in another color that will fill in the crevices.
  10. Where they always get it -- China or raise taxes lol! This bill, as is, does not exclude soap any more and let's think of the ramifications it has. It's going to put more than us small guys OOB. To force everyone to release their formulas? How are we going to be able to correctly calculate all the % of a product and all the additives in that product and then list every single one of them on a label? I want to know where our protection is from getting sued because someone thinks it was my product that caused them to get the flu while they stood outside in 30 degree weather barefoot and naked and they know damn well what caused the flu wasn't my product. I want to know where my protection will be? I want to know what kind of loans I can get and not have to pay back just to have all the ingredients I put together tested so I can have a MSDS sheet for my product! I want to know why I am not privileged to get information about anything until I register my company when say I just started out! I want to know how I am supposed to know what everyone of customers does to that product. I will feel like Hitler if I have to constantly check on them. I want to know how I will know what's in their water system and how those chemicals will affect the way my product reacts! I want to know who is going to account for every known allergen in this world when my doctor cannot even do that. I also want to know how in the world, when my body contains a lot of viruses and formaldehyde even, how I'm going to be able to test for parts per billion and how much that is going to cost and then if these bozos are going to buy my product, because those costs will carry down to my consumers. Then I want to know how we can ship the lunatics to Mars. And then we can talk about what's going to happen with botanicals.
  11. My thread get out of the back seat is posting links to the actual bill and discussions. Let's just say we're all going to destroy forests just to list the ingredients for starters (not to mention the fact that I definitionsare too loose, broad and repetitive etc. and there's other reasons to be broiling about this bill) and I wonder if Wal-Mart will give me a MSD sheet on their distilled water. I don't think so. I won't even go into the fragrance end. I'd like to thank Illinois people for voting in the supporter of this bill. I think we are headed into a world where toothpaste will come with a dictionary before you can use it. Some things will require one volume of an encyclopedia set and others will require the whole series. WHY are these anti-business people ever elected? Isn't there a law that they have to live in a communist country or on Mars or something and not turn the principles of a free nation into dust? This is not turning out to be a good day for me lol.
  12. Links in regards to the bill (post 'em if you have them): http://essentialu.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/07/safe-cosmetics-act-2011-statement-of-opposition.html Here's the bill in full: http://www.opencongress.org/bill/112-h2359/text Personal Care's take http://personalcaretruth.com/2011/07/safe-cosmetics-act-2011-sec-618-treatment-of-contaminants/ Be sure to pay attention to all links. I don't care if you hate the bill, love the bill, like the bill or are indifferent to it (if you are the later then you should not be making anything other than candles maybe IMO)
  13. And now there is a safe act cosmetic bill on the hill that again has major problems. You can sign a petition against it off a link on Essential U and you can find more about the bill there. Realize you cannot rely on others to speak your voice. Your representatives need to hear from you! Mine will hear from me for sure. http://essentialu.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/07/sign-the-petition-oppose-hr-2359-safe-cosmetics-act-of-2011.html
  14. Geesh! That green is da bomb! Like them all, but really drawn to the green.
  15. I was thinking the same thing. I'm still using a bar of soap I put it in and I can't get that real perfume note from it that I get from the old Patch Honey either.
  16. See if you can get one of your favorite suppliers to bring it in.
  17. It could be that unavailable also means unaffordable??
