  1. I never smell much in my lip balms. They taste fantastic though, and I have found that this is what makes them sell. I use pre-sweetened flavor oils from BC and WSP.
  2. That is a tough question. It boils down to lots of factors. First, how many scents can you handle to make? Second, is the show worth it or not? Is the attendance high? Is this your only show? I will always feel that less is more. I would rather sell out of everything and be twiddling my thumbs than to come home with a lot of stuff that I can't sell for a while.
  3. I always get my packages relatively quickly from BCN. I hope that your stuff comes soon!
  4. Don't over do it with the food! I would not even be serving wine if it were me, just soda. I think that the food that you described is plenty.
  5. Patchouli smells like moss. It is an earthy dirt scent. I hate it. But it is strong and you DEFINETLY should be able to smell it.
  6. Well I happen to think that the eggnog from BCN is pretty good. HOWEVER, I will NEVER use it again in MP!!! No matter how much vanilla stabilizer I use, it STILL turns a rusty rose color. Who wants rose eggnog soap???
  7. Patchouli, Clover, Lavender, and Oakmoss all make me positively ill.
  8. There are very few bakery scents that I like. I am all for a straight apple scent or else letting your son pick a scent for his teacher. He probably knows more about her than you do. I know this is the case with my 8 year old.
  9. I have soaped NUMEROUS things without any problem. For MP soap, you cannot add any liquid milk or wet food without it going bad. You can used powdered products in MP with success.
  10. What an outrage!!!! I feel for you and you should not have to contend with such crap. You can probably pay money to have a lawyer send a threatening letter. My business suffered greatly from a thief. I learned my lesson and have EVERYTHING trademarked. It is awful that we have to spend money to protect what is ours.
  11. You sound exactly like me. I just do not like FCO at all though. I find it irritating period in any blend. I also like that thicker feel upon application as well.
  12. I use Jody's crothix and have had excellent results. I always heat it because it just does not incorporate well throughout the base otherwise. I microwave mine for a few seconds to get it to a liquid consistency. Then I add it it to the cold gel and mix it up before I add in color and scent. You have to be careful not to use too much or you will get a slick feeling in the base.
  13. I use jojoba and sweet almond oil. I think that the feel is so much nicer than other blends and it lasts forever.
  14. I love reading stuff like this! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I have never heard of it eitther, but it sounds divine.
  16. WSP is the best that I have used. It is reasonably priced and easy to work with.
  17. I use a heat gun and I keep it on a low setting. Works great!
  18. If it smells fishy, it probably is. I would not deal with this person.
  19. I am totally hooked on The Scent Shack's Dutch Chocolate.
  20. I understand that you are on your feet when you soap. But when you do MP you are on your feet as well. I am so sorry to hear that you had a 3rd heart attack.
  21. I just personally do not want to deal with anything pertaining to babies. People are often forgiving with big things if it is about themselves. But those same people are not tolerant of anything with their precious babies, and often this is rightly so. I would be worried about a little baby possibly having an allergic reaction to my product. Even natural products can cause rashes on new babies. My daughter was allergic to everything!
  22. I totally agree! It looks like lovely chocolate marshmallow fudge.
  23. I second either or both in dry facial masks. The vanilla powder is SO nice!
