  1. IDK... patch is like vanilla... it goes well with just about anything. If I had to choose my fav is honey patchouli followed by sandalwood patch, then amber....
  2. Cabana Cocktail Tropical Lime Twisted Lime Lime Cooler Seven Seas Shooter Mermaid's Breath Sea Foam Sea Glass Bioluminescence Tidal Wave Sea Spray Pearl Diver
  3. The spiciest pumpkin I have ever found is Pumpkin Pie Spice from Just Scent. Smells like Yankees. Also, they carry Pumpkin Pecan Waffles. They also carry a whole lot of other pumpkin types including a pumpkin marshmellow I never heard of but doesn't that sound yummy?!! Also, Pumpkin Butter (brulee) Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Carving, and many more.
  4. I've got the 24oz Mt. Olive pickle jar. Its about 4-5" diameter and has a nice big opening for good scent throw. I think wicking would be a bit tricky but you should be able to figure it out. I think it would make a lovely candle.
  5. I want to make a banana themed soap. Using fresh pureed banana and a banana type fragrance. Can anyone suggest a good banana FO for CP?
  6. Hard to tell at this point. Looks like a possible blow out with the 14. Will just have to wait and see.
  7. I sometimes use Google Chrome but I never really warmed up to it. This morning I have been putting bookmarks in the Firefox. Since I've been using it now I am thrilled at how much faster and efficiently its working. IE I guess is now a dinosaur to me.
  8. Whats torch? a browser? Please don't make me try yet another browser. I am just beginning to get used to Firefox.
  9. Thanks I need to try some of that FO. I especially love Christmas type scents. I didn't get the idea of mixing palms. There was an old thread someone post years ago about mixing feather and tortoise and feather and crystal palm. They were insanely beautiful and unique looking. Hmmm... it could also be tortoise and crystal. There were several pics. I might do a search in the gallery and see if I can find a link.
  10. Those soapies are beautiful and the candles look so creamy!
  11. Pull an old wire hanger out of your closet girl and modify that! You can have a new hanger swirl tool in under 5 minutes. That's what I use. I just took a couple of bamboo skewers and taped those with a little electrical tape to make the wire a bit thicker but the wire by itself works great too.
  12. I have used the shea butter from ED and Soapmakingresource. I don't think I have used it from Soapers Choice yet. Maybe I have and just don't remember. But I usually buy it in smaller batches so that is why I have been buying from ED and SMR. I normally get the unrefined if given a choice. I really like it. Its a pale light yellow and has a very light scent. You can't smell anything in the finished product. I prefer unrefined mainly because its less processed so retains more nutrients.
  13. I just love the look of feather palm pillars. The scents sound really good too. Have you ever tried mixing feather and tortoise or feather and crystal palm before?
  14. I did the consignment thing a number of times and won't do it again. I much prefer wholesale and if a shop owner wants my stuff in their store and they don't have the money for it it is a red flag to me. But thats just my experience. There is some very good advice here. If you want to do the consignment thing know in advance what you expect out of the arrangement, have an agreement plan, and put it in writing. Keep in mind if this business goes belly up you could lose your product or they may not pay you for product already sold if they are bankrupt. Its happened to me and it sucks to get burned that way.
  15. When I get a chance to buy some more colorants I may get some. I am liking what I see.
  16. I may have smelled them at their showroom. Lord knows I open every bottle there and sniff everything. But I just don't have any recollection of those oil. Sorry. Ohh! The blackberry and butter almond cookie should work. You can make a "blackberry thumbprint cookie" or whatever they are called.... jumbleberry cookie? But you need to use a sample that smells the most like jam or jelly.
  17. I had a sample of this from Flickers before she closed. It's very nice. I haven't soaped it so don't know how it performs.
  18. I've been saving my shreds in an empty plastic party size ice cream bucket. It holds up to 2 lbs of shreds. That doesn't sound like much but it is. I am on bucket 2 now. One of these days I need to make some confetti soap out of them. I'll probably use them testing out a new fragrance. So if I don't like it I can shred my shred soap?!!! Hahahaa!
  19. I use both and both have good quality products. I generally buy my bulk oils & butters from Soapers Choice. I buy my lye from ED. When I am at ED I usually end up buying whatever else I may need to tide me over until I am ready to order in bulk again from SC. I would say I much prefer the outstanding packaging of ED, especially their lye. One day I made a spread sheet to compare prices of them. Most bulk oils are cheaper at Soapers Choice. While sometimes I don't need a gallon jug of something I can buy a smaller size at ED. So that helps me save money.
  20. Did you check out the Hollywood Pink? http://www.nurturesoapsupplies.com/hollywood-pink/
  21. My advice is buy a package of tea lights. Fill the glass with some glass beads, sand, beans, lentils, whatever floats your boat, and gently press a tea light candle into it. Just make sure whatever you fill the glass with is not flammable. I would bypass the process of learning how to make a soy candle in a fluted glass altogether. If you want to learn to make soy candles take the time to learn properly in a glass container suitable for candles. I can see that you want to do something special for the wedding but it takes time to learn how to work with soy let alone make a proper candle. So maybe sometime when you have the time to learn about making soy candles we can help out with that.
  22. Its very pretty. Love you colors. I tried knitting once. Drove me nuts. So a bit later I tried crocheting. I liked it but was lousy at it and it also drove me nuts. I know lots of people knit or crochet because it relaxes them. For me all I can think about is how many more stitches to finish over and over and over until I go berserk.
  23. Yes the Juniper Aloe is lovely. No A&D (Thx for the sample Dave!) But it is light in CP even at 1oz PPO. I use it for my one of my specialty soaps. It might be a better one for HPing instead.
  24. Yes I adore the vibrance colors. I have had the best luck with NS's soap colorants more than any others I've tried. The neon colored ones are my favorite to work with. I have been using them for almost 2 yrs now and so glad I found them. I still order some from TKB because they have a wider selection and some shades I can't get at NS.
  25. I don't have a salad shooter and wish I did. I have been wanting one for a while now just for shredding botched soap.
