  1. Thats what the ROE mentioned in the above post is.
  2. Welcome Noodlehead! Good to have another soaper among us. Don't worry about the molds. You will have quite the collection if you continue to make soap.
  3. Thanks for looking. I wish I could say my photography has really improved but I still find it hard to set up a photo shoot and get that one perfect shot.
  4. My highest selling jar is an 8oz. Doesn't matter if its a jelly jar or a salsa jar they sell about the same. I used to sell 4oz hex jars which my customers loved. I quit selling them because they cost almost as much as the 8oz jars to mak so I didn't make much out of them.
  5. I saw your soap in the gallery and think it turned out beautiful.
  6. I love how creamy the batter looks! Can't wait to see cut pics.
  7. Those are lovely! Very prof looking! Can't wait to see pics of the finished product with labels on them. Awesome job Trappeur!!
  8. Here's a recipe I found in the recipe section. Looks good but haven't tried it: http://www.craftserver.com/topic/26592-a-whipped-soap-recipe/?hl=%2Bwhipped+%2Bsoap Also, if you check out Nizzy's soap she has a recipe. I use to have it bookmarked when I used a different browser. I will see if I can find it for you and post it. Found it. Here it is: http://nizzymoulds.com/Whipped/index.htm Be sure to check out Nizzy's whipped soap gallery. Click on the pics to enlarge. I think they should inspire you!
  9. Ohh! I love the colors too. Very pretty. The individual soap swirls came out looking like flowers so they go perfect with the fragrance.
  10. Those are so pretty! I love how they came out.
  11. I can sell peppermint blends during the holidays but then they work better in palm than soy.
  12. For some reason that description conjures up an image of the Tinkerbell winter or frost fairies. How about Frost Berries.
  13. Here's the thread: http://www.craftserver.com/topic/105438-digging-into-the-past-part-deux/
  14. Yes. It was done as an ice pillar. I used the standard size ice cube trays to make my ice. You know the big blocky ice cubes you make from those cheap plastic ice cube trays? I wanted bigger 'holes' in my pillar. I poured the the white or uncolored wax first over the ice filling my pillar. Once the wax was cooled, I tipped it over and let all the water drain out. Once I was fairly certain it was dry, I poured the dark brown colored wax over it. The dark colored wax fills in the holes and because the ice created uneven holes they came out looking like cow spots. I thought it was very cool looking.
  15. Did you check out my cow ice candle in the gallery? It came out looking exactly like a cow so I called it my cow candle.
  16. Oh! Pretty! I love how the snoflakes came out and your colors are perfect! Wish I could smell it.
  17. A scent description would help.
  18. If it helps I do sell both during the holidays. I keep the name Christmas Tree for Fillmore's. For Mistletoe I rename it Christmas Wreath because it won't sell as Mistletoe. You could also name it Sinus Relief. For the clove, have you tried mixing the 2 cloves together? You might be surprized. You can get the best of both scents by blending... or not. But if it were me I would try it. The danger here is falling in love with the blend then you always have to buy both. LOL
  19. Trappeur-- I really like the rustic tagline on your labels. If you are going to use it you should incorporate into every label for consistency and branding. My other suggestion is pick a style and build on that. You have selected a variety of styles. I am not an artist or graphics expert so I don't know the names of the styles but to my eyes I see animation, photographic, retro, stylistic, etc. The styles remind me of the different types of Chrismas cards you get over the holidays. Don't get me wrong, they are all very pretty and I like them all. I just think you could take your labeling and branding a lot further if you stuck to a particular style and build on that. Or, use one style for one line of candles, and another style for different line. Hope that makes sense.
  20. I've been using dual temperature glue sticks but want something more efficient, stronger. They always work great for my paraffin and soy candles but not always 100% on my palm. I remember sometime back people posting about using a perma bond glue? or something like that. That's what I am trying to remember is the name of that glue. I am looking for a bond so tight you can't pry the tab off if you wanted to.
  21. I use palm wax so my curing time may be different than yours. Most of the time my candles have cured in about 2-3 days or a week at most. Both of those scents you can smell right away once the candle has cooled though. They don't smell the same to me. They especially don't smell the same burning to me. The Mistletoe has a very distinct top note of eucalyptus and fresh pine while the Christmas Tree is a balsam blend. Mistletoe always helps clear my sinuses when I burn it. I don't get that with the Christmas Tree.
  22. I like 1, 3, 4, 5 and 7. I guess I'm no help. They are all very nice Trappeur.
