  1. Pure Fragrance Oils now has MW's Earthen Oak: http://purefragranceoils.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16&products_id=833
  2. I like these from CS: Black Raspberry Vanilla Strawberry Shortcake Blueberry Cheesecake Mulberry Wildberry Mousse
  3. Trappeur I have used all those oils in my candlemaking. I love all of them except the Bayberry Cinnamon. To me it has a slight medicinal note not to my liking but its a good seller. My personal favorite bayberry is Bayberry Apple Spice from C&S.
  4. Trappeur I just call it Sandalwood & Cedar during the rest of the year. I tried other names but customers looking for sandalwood always buy it.
  5. Sigh. I have been working on a dog soap for the past year. I've been doing a lot of research to find out which oils are really the most safe, gentle, and comfortable on a dogs sensitive skin as theirs is more sensitive than ours. Are you planning to make your own? If you have a castile soap on hand you can use that for now until you develop your own soap. I would pick one without any fragrance especially EOs in it. Let me tell you finding out dog safe EOs is not that easy. That is a huge part that is holding me up. I have narrowed them down but still hesitate on finalizing it.
  6. If you have some patch EO add some of that to bring out the patch.
  7. They look great Trappeur. Honestly, if it were me, I would go down a size smaller with the labels. Do they offer a 2.5" round? The reason I say this is that's its happened to me. Got some labels I thought were perfect and they ended up being a smidge too large. So I tried using the labels and they ended up always being a problem so in the end I ended up getting the next smaller size. If you do craft shows and markets like me you end up packing and repacking your candles. If the labels don't fit perfectly they can be easily damaged, start coming off on the sides, etc. Plus they have to be fussed with everytime you place a label on the jar. Are you going to always trim each label everytime? It all gets tiring after a while. Anyway, that was my experience. Changing the labels out fixed all the problems that I had and saved some of my hair.
  8. Check out WSP's bath tea herbs. I used to make bath tea packets you drop in your bath to soak away your aches and pains. You don't have to put them in tea bags though. I can see you using them in herb pillows. If you check out the descriptions it will tell you what herbs are in each tea.
  9. I do both tea and oil infusions. Depends on the herb I am using. Don't know if you are also trying for a scented chamomile but neither infusion or tea will be enough to scent the soap.
  10. I use palm too. I also like combining palm and coconut.
  11. I didn't get anything either. it just says video doesn't exist. I just realized its an old thread.
  12. Spearmint smells great in soap. Just takes a little practice to blend it. I love it with rosemary.
  13. I agree. I offer an 8oz and either a 12 or 16oz jar. I always have customers that want a larger jar but the smaller ones far outsell the larger.
  14. No I wasn't using any wick stickums. I use a dual temp (high heat) glue stick and glue gun. I hot glue the wicks to the jars. I'm saying the glue sticks like a rock and is practically imposible to pry up once its dry. The glue only becomes unstable and may unstick when it gets heated from the candle flame as it approaches the end of the wick and reaches or is close to the tab. The tab then starts to float around in the jar if the glue fails. I think its important to note that I use container palm wax and the wicks burn tall and hotter than say a soy wick. So the flame produces more heat especially as it burns deeper into the candle. Its at its highest temp in the bottom part of the candle.
  15. I have never tried that FO from CC so I can't compare. I would trust Trappeur's nose and comments on this.
  16. My concern for changing out my glue is not because of any "floating" wicks. The dual temp hot glue I have been using you have to pry the wick off with pliers. It is really stuck good. The problem is when the candle burns down to the wick I think the heat from the flame softens the glue. Anyway, I have had a couple tester candles where the wick came lose at the end of the candle burn and the wick would "travel". So I am not fooled by how strong the glue seems. I thought it was perfect because its really tough to pry the wick out of the jar once its glued on. But the end result was that an occasional wick came unglued near the end of the candle burn. So has anyone using the Permatex Red had this happen?
  17. If you end up making it be sure to post a pic. Sounds intriguing!
  18. Rice and milk mallow? Could that be Rice Flower and Shea?
  19. Shari I am so glad you got the account. Just hope you can tolerate making the oders... um... orders! LOL
