  1. That's very pretty! I thought I had ordered all the POP colors in the co-op but went to look for the Grape and, guess what, I didn't get it. Good to know how nice it comes out.
  2. My pitcher has the "5" on the bottom with a little pp next to it. I'm thinking that means polypropylene. I'm not positive, it could mean nothing. It does seal tightly. It has a flip up spout on the top.
  3. I think if it has a "5" on the bottom, it is HDPE. Could be wrong though. I store my 50/50 solution in a sterilite pitcher and never had a problem!
  4. I've gone to using this instead of straight shea. I got mine from lotioncrafter. I use it straight too, on really dry spots. I've been using it in everything that calls for shea. Love it!!!
  5. It's gorgeous, I Love it! Those colors go perfectly together.
  6. Thanks CB and MA. I found a couple different sites saying different amounts. I didn't find coconut milk on the SS site, but yes they do have a lot of good info. It kinda sucks when the place you get it from doesn't even give dilution instructions. Oh well I used the info I did find and settled in the middle.
  7. Thanks so much for the offer. I found out that there is one about 2hrs from me also. I'm thinkin about making a trip. (MMS & Candlewarmers.com is on the way too, may have to make it a supply trip)
  8. I was not making assumptions, I was just saying what I was told. I'm not saying it's ok to me, and I'm not saying it's not. There are people (I'm just saying what she told me) that have used the tea leaf and grapefruit (which is listed as candle only) for CP.
  9. Are you wanting to pour into a pour pot? If so then the temp wouldn't drop too much especially if your pot was pre warmed. I have never had wax clog up the spigot.
  10. Most of her oils that say "candles only" is not because they are not soap safe, she just couldn't get the info for body safeness (is that a word?) from the manufacturer. I was told that they very well could be, it's just a matter of testing them yourself. ETA: That's probably why she is not carrying them in her regular line
  11. Dang it. I don't live anywhere near an IKEA. I wouldn't mind having one of those. Oh well
  12. Can anyone tell me a dilution rate for this? I have looked at the supplier site where I got it and can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks Rebecca
  13. Thanks so much for the help. Thats a good start. That is what I needed, a starting point. I will try at 3%. The good thing is one of the scents is orange creamsicle, so a little vanilla won't hurt.
  14. I have a couple FO's that smells really good but I get a fuel smell when burning in a candle. I've heard to add a little vanilla to solve this but I'm not sure where to start on amounts. Was hoping someone could help me out. Can you just add a few drops of vanilla or actually mix as a percent of the original, like say 90% with 10% vanilla added? I know most people will say try it and see, I was just hoping for a tip, At least where to start. Thanks Rebecca
  15. Has anyone used Peaks liquid dyes in soy wax? I am needing a new line of colors comparable to the pryme dyes and Peaks has a good selection of colors. Just wondering if anyone had any luck(good or bad) with them. Thanks Rebecca
  16. Thanks CB. Thats what I needed. I guess all I can do is try. I wanted to make a whipped concoction for my face. I have severely dry skin. Thought I would try mango and kokum to start.
  17. Does anyone know if Kokum is considered comedogenic? It's not listed on the lists that I've seen. Has anyone ever used it in a facial product? I've heard that mango is non, but I know cocoa is. Not sure what to think of kokum.
  18. Those are all beautiful. I especially love the blue zig zag ones!
  19. That is great looking! What are the little blue and brown specks from?
  20. I'm just venturing into formulating and learning about all these ingredients. Could you tell me what qualities you don't like with stearic in lotion?
  21. Those molds are pretty cool. I hesitated on getting one because I suck at cutting, I'm pretty stuck on dividers. I love your soap. I have no idea what the scent smells like, but I love the colors, and (especially) the texture.
  22. I absolutely love those colors! The POPs are the bomb, aren't they. I think they may be my main colors from now on.
  23. Don't know about the mylar, but yes lexan can be used to line a mold. Just make sure it is Lexan not just any plexiglass. Lexan is heat and chemical resistant. Works very nice for liner and dividers.
  24. You guys won't be sorry. POP colors ROCK!!!
