  1. Ok, since so many want to see a bigger shot of the GIT I figured out how to do it. Not sure about the quality of the pic but here goes. I don't think the colors are as sparkly as the real thing Thanks to everyone for making me feel good about my soap. I could never have been able to do anything without all the tips and tricks I learn from all of you on here. I still have a lot to learn and I know I still can't hold a candle to most of you. Rebecca
  2. Love them all, but I especially like the first and last one. That blue is what I was hopin for with my salt bars. I love Blue!
  3. I got my lexan from Lowes. It comes in different size sheets. I think the one I got was 8x10, so I just had my DH cut it in strips (10" long) since my mold is 10" x10". I didn't line the bottom yet, just been using plastic wrap. Works very nicely.
  4. Thanks MA. Yes it's a TOG mold, which I tweeked myself to make it better. I lined it with lexan because I hated the way the foam liner left bumps and craters on my bars, and the dividers I got with it were not big enough. So the Lexan fills in the gaps.
  5. Thanks for all your nice comments:o . I was pretty jazzed about the way they turned out, I just had to show them. If I knew how to post a larger pic I would have! This is the best batch I have made. Kind of amazing since this is the first time I've done so many colors at once. It was fun though!
  6. Those are very pretty!!! So is it true that you can use HP soap immediately? I think I may try this when (if) I get my powdered Goat Milk! Is it possible to use canned Goat milk in HP? Sorry for all the ???'s, I've just been wanting to do this for a while. Rebecca
  7. This is so Me!!! Couldn't quote your picture, that's what I was referring to.
  8. Using the co-op colors. The first and second pics are my first (well not really but we won't talk about the real first) salt bar. Scented in BW Blue (currently my favorite scent), colored with Blueberry POP, Starluster, and Hilite Blue. I think the Starluster and Hilite blue were a waste in this batch, oh well I like playing. Third and fourth is SOS Green Irish Tweed. This one I really had fun with. It's no comparison with the stuff I see from everyone on here but I was pretty proud of it. It's my first 5 color swirl, and I love how it turned out. I used Black oxide, Mermaids Gold, Starluster, Hot Mama(lovin this color), and Green Apple POP. I shoulda used more green. None of them have been cleaned up, and my salt bars crumbled a little when I cut them. Hope you can see them OK, I can't figure out how to make the pics bigger without being too big.
  9. I need to make a scrub. What I'm wondering is, if I made a scrub with just oils, no cleanser, would this be similar to the oil cleansing that has been talked about. I have verrrrrry dry skin on my face this year. It's so dry that I feel like I have dandruff on my face. I know that sounds gross, but that is all I can compare it to. Anywho, I was thinking of doing sugar with oatmeal (ground fine),and honey. That is about as far as I have gotten. I'm not sure what oils to use for the face. I was hoping someone could help me to formulate a great scrub. I don't want it done for me, just some help! TIA Rebecca
  10. Thank You!!! I found it. Now to figure out what else I want from there. Can't just order 1, LOL!!!
  11. Diesel FO? I guess it's a man cologne scent. A friend of mine asked if I could get it and I've looked several places, but I can't seem to find it. Not sure if it's just not out there or I just can't find it.
  12. The hydrolized oats I'm looking at is powdered. http://www.gardenofwisdom.shoppingcartsplus.com/catalog/item/4076644/3906325.htm but it doesn't have any usage info. I was hoping to be able to use it in scrubs like the colloidal. I can find the colloidal at another place but some of the other things I want they don't have.
  13. Is there any certain type of honey better than another? Is powdered honey just as good as bottled? Do you just use the kind from the grocery store? Sorry for all the ???'s but I have been wanting to start using honey.
  14. between colloidal oatmeal, and hydrolized oats? I'm trying to order some things and one place has the colloidal, and the other has hydrolized. Don't know the difference. I was hoping someone could tell me.
  15. The combo ones at levines, that I saw were taller. I don't really like the way they look being that tall. I guess I got spoiled to these. They have similar warmers, only without the dish. Plus Levines seems a little expensive to me.
  16. Those are the ones I like. I would like to find a place that has the colored ones too. I did apply for access to the prices so we will see. Thanks for the link. I could live with these, if the price is right.
  17. I was hoping someone might know of a supplier closer to the west coast for these warmers. http://shop.candlesandsupplies.com/candles/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Candles&category%5Fname=Tart%2FCandle+Warmers&product%5Fid=TARTWARM&path=Candle+Holders%2FAccessories (Sorry the link is so long) I love these, but shipping kills me. The ones at levines are taller(don't like that) and more expensive. Candlesoylutions have similar ones, but they don't have the dish. Thought I'd check. Thanks Rebecca
  18. I have a wick centering tool. But It shouldn't be too difficult if you are only doing testers. I have heard people talk about making a template on paper, like a bulls eye, so you can set your jar on it to get a center point. I space wicks @1" apart, at the bottom. So if you put the tabs right next to each other, edges touching , that should be about right. Then at the top I have my wick holders holes spaced about 1 1/4". This works well for me, but you'll have to try different ways to see what you like best. If you are planning to make a lot at a time I would invest in a wick centering tool. It saves time. Glad I could help a little. BTW: if you space them where they are too close to the glass your jar will get way too hot. That is why I space at 1".
  19. In my experience, it is very hard to single wick a 4" apoth jar. I tried a few different scents and had no luck. I however am not a super patient person, along with having cabinets full of FO's calling my name, so I couldn't justify the "keep trying" right now. I finally resorted to double wicking my 4" apoth. I don't use the same wax as you but I do use soy. As for the double wicking with CD wicks, I don't use CD's but I am currently switching over to CDN's, I think the 12-14 range is where I would start. Hope this helps a little.
  20. I think Alan gives that discount just for co-ops ( I could be wrong though).
  21. OMG. That is absolutely beautiful!!!
  22. I tried the IGI site too and didn't find anything. I'm thinkin they are new. I ordered some to try. We shall see!
  23. They are supposedly IGI. Let it shine carries them. They are all veggie.
  24. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with either of these, good or bad? TIA
