  1. They look really good, I'd be happy to have them in my home, labels are good too. Nice work. Sally.
  2. Howsabout Terri Lee's Scented Sweet Treats ? Sally
  3. That's lovely, very William Morris style. You may be Outlandish but you'll not be outdated with that logo. Sally.
  4. Thank you both so much I'll pass this on to idacandlelady & we can get it sorted. Thanks again, Sally.
  5. Hi all, I've got some tins waiting for me with the co-op that's been running. Idacandlelady has never shipped internationally & neither have I so we could both use some help here. I've looked at both the UPS & USPS sites but I'm still confused as to which is the best way to go. I need to get the tins posted as cheaply as possible especially as I might be stung by UK customs when they arrive & I'd like to be able to track the parcel too. If anyone can help we'd both be really greatful. Sally.
  6. Top just how many hours do you have in your day? & if you can spare some please can I have them? Your workshop must be super organised! Oh btw I love that pottery candle & the others are cool too. Sally.
  7. Glad you've got something to relieve the pressure a bit, what a gift from your friend. White Tea & Lilac sounds perfect to me. Sally.
  8. I've been selling my painted glass alongside my paraffin wax candles for the last few years & called it Chiara Crafts. Now I'm doing soy candles, dropping the pw candles & painting less glass but am calling the business Chiara Candles & Crafts, that way it encompases all the light oriented things I do & leaves me room to include B&B in the future. Sally.
  9. I agree with Lindsaycb. The black stripe catches the eye immediately but a black lid would finish the jars off beautifully. Some of the jars I've been experimenting with recently have black lids & I think they look more classy than the others. Sally.
  10. Hi newbie & welcome. FO is abbreviation for fragrance oil...simple really. There's a link at the top of the general candle making page titled HELPFUL LINKS FOR NEWBIES or something like that. Take a look it's got loads of really helpful info including a list of abbreviations. HTH Have fun. Sally.
  11. Wow all her work is amazing quality. Inspirational. Sally.
  12. I've never seen candle warmers here in the Uk but I'm looking into stocking some tart melters/oil burner type of thing for fairs etc. I recently did a fair & took some plain votive holders with me. I only put one out with a votive in it for display purposes & ended up selling 4 at £1.00/$1.85 each...they only cost me 25 pence /48c each. Tarts & votives were very popular at the fair so I think it would be worth stocking a few, depending on the original cost of course. Sally.
  13. LOL all I could think of was smelly rubber boots! Sally.
  14. I'd love to see one of those. All I can picture is the mess as the seeds fall off everywhere, & the bigger mess trying to make them! Sally.
  15. Nice looking candles, jars & shelves. Good job done there. Sally.
  16. I've just finished drinking the last of my wonderful homemade Elderflower lemonade & got to thinking it might make a really nice light summer scented soy candle. Does anyone know if there is anyone out there who sells an Elderflower fragrance oil ? Living in hope, Sally.
  17. I got myself a set of 36 10mls size Eo's from a reputable company & have been trying these out in soy. I've tried some on their own & some combinations which I like, & I've looked up blends in my aromatherapy books to try. I've found that EO's need to cure for a lot longer to get a good throw but if you're wanting a more natural range it's worth the wait. IMHO. I've only been making up small quantities so I have measured the oils by drops not weight but I've taken lots of notes along the way. So far I've found lavender, geranium, patchouli, ylang ylang, lemongrass, citronella, basil & lemon, eucalyptus, peppermint, vetivert, rosemary & some other combinations have worked well for me in containers. I'm still working on pillars but they're a whole different thing due to the smaller melt pool. Heavier oils like patchouli need a larger wick too. Rose absolute oil is just too expensive for me to think about at the moment but some people mix eo & fo to get their own blends. It's going to take a lot more testing with the EO's yet but so far I'm pretty happy with my results & if something turns out wrong I melt it down & add more EO's & let it cure again. It takes more patience with the EO's I think. Good luck with your quest. Sally.
  18. I'm jealous! You can get such nice jars over there, I haven't seen anything nearly as nice as that over here in Uk. Sally.
  19. My ex was a computer programmer/web designer, he wanted to call his company EASY internet. It didn't take long for EASY jets lawyers to get onto him with threatening emails etc...it appears Stavros owns the word EASY so no-one can use it to name things. Sally.
  20. Very nice.... made me think of happy times, I'd probably buy something just for that reason alone, tho' I'm sure you make wonderful things. sally.
  21. You could try squrting some WD40 between the moulds & leaving them overnight.I use it to free up screws & such that have stuck. It's probably called something else over there tho...its the stuff you squirt on car parts etc as a lubricant. HTH. Sally.
  22. Wow congratulations, it's so good when you get a result. sally.
  23. I only wash the new ones that look a little grubby, but by hand...I'm the dishwasher in my home. If I'm re-using a test jar I'll clean it thoroghly before refilling it. I have found some jars just seem to hang on to that little bit of wax on the sides but it's usually the square jars I'm testing out. I'm using eco wicks too cos that's all I've got just now, with eco soya cba. Good luck in your quest. Sally.
  24. They are so cool...my painted glass looks like that sometimes but I think you're lines are straighter than mine. Hope she likes them. Sally.
