  1. Levelling bottoms the Everito Bandito way, it had bugged me for years now they're perfect every time..... Sally.
  2. Not a soap maker myself but I've found darker oils do colour my soy wax (I don't usually dye it) so I guess it would be the same with soap....I could be wrong tho'. Can you make a small batch to try it out? Sally.
  3. I made a blend of Cedarwood & Benzoin e.o's & it's just   smells like woodsmoke & that makes my knees go weak! Sandalwood, Black Pepper & Benzoin e.o's is lovely too.... In fact any earthy fragrance with benzoin would smell sexy to me, or Ylang Ylang & Patchouli. I haven't found any F.o's that have quite the same effect on me yet. Sally. ETA Hey Cindym this is as close to sex as I get just now..lol
  4. Really like that clear label, it says quality, & the container is gorgeous. The round one is good too btw. Sally.
  5. Ditto Funky Monkey, any more would take attention away from your font which I think is lovely. Sally.
  6. Hi Palette2006, The answers to tangerines questions will help to determine where things are going wrong for you. Also if you look in the search facility & archives you'll find lots of help. I'm new to using soy myself & it is so very different from the paraffin I've used for years, but I really like it. Keep trying, you'll get there in the end & let us know how you get on. Sally.
  7. I just looked at these candles again & I still can't believe they are your first attempt....my first attempts at most things are rubbish by comparison. I love looking at all the wonderful work people are doing,& showing here, pretty things make me smile. Sally
  8. My dog used to do that when he was a puppy...it's revolting I certainly didn't like his breath! Oh & sorry I haven't smelled that oil but good luck with finding it. Sally.
  9. Hi newb. welcome. Take some time...hours, days, weeks even to read through some of the archives. There is so much brilliant information in them. I learn something new every time I look. Sally.
  10. & it takes ages to cure in my experience. Sally.

  13. MMM that sounds delicious, love to know how it turns out. sally.
  14. Thanks Robin, I'll make a note of that & keep it safe. Adding EO by the drop is fine for single candles but I do want to be making larger quantities soon...ish so adding by the weight would be easier. Sally.
  15. Love ,love, love that first one & the salvage is great too. Sally.
  16. They look great, especially the one with the dark blue top. Sally
  17. I want streaks in my hair that pink...it's fabulous. Sally.
  18. Hi all, I was feeling a bit frazzled earlier this evening so I decided to light one of my 4oz tins I poured some time ago. I'm experimenting with E.O's in soy as well as F.O's. & intend on having a select range with E.O's once my business gets going. I chose the one fragranced with Petitgrain as it is uplifting for the spirits...just what I needed...& IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY. The candle & the E.O The wax is a container blend from a British company called Full Moons Cauldron & I used 100 drops of EO with an Eco 12 wick. Adding EO's a drop at a time is a bit of a pain but I still can't work out EO's by weight. The tin's been curing for 3 months which is a long time but most definately worth it. Can't wait to try the same out in the Ecosoya container blends when my tins arrive so I can do a full comparison. :) :) Sally.
  19. I'd hate to drop that filled beast. It'd probably make a hole in my floorboards! Sally.
  20. I use disposable plastic pipettes. I found them on ebay...very cheap! I put my oil on the scale without the lid to get the weight, then use pipettes full til I've reached the desired amount of oil. It may take a little longer than just pouring from the bottle but I don't get dribbles down the bottle or a significant amount of oil left in the pipette. I keep each pipette in a self seal plastic bag with the fragrance name on a label & store them all in a shoe box. I'm still only using 1 or 2 oz bottles of oil but when I graduate to the big guys I'll fasten the bag to the bottle with an elastic band. It works perfectly for me. Sally.
  21. Sounds good....please can you make it idiot proof cos when it comes to computers i'm a bit of an idiot. Thank you. Sally.
  22. Candle Man you are a wealth of information. Thank you for always being so willing to point people in a helpful direction. Sally.
  23. If you go for a label on the lid instead of some kind of band round the jar you could put a label on the bottom with contact info on it. Sally.
